DW9:E Male Custom Officer event quotes

A small selection of event quotes for the different custom officer voice types. I put this together to use as a reference to help pick out suitable voices for my custom characters.

COURAGEOUS YOUNG MAN / YOUTH / BOY

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I have a dream. A dream to rule over these lands. Will you join me? Aide: Of course! My ambitions lie together with you! Unaffiliated: I’m still insignificant at the moment, but one day this world will be mine!

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: Nobody can tease apart the bond we shall form this day! Officer B: Until the day I die, I shall not forget this oath we have sworn on this land!

Confession- Confessor: I just can’t contain my feelings for you any longer! I love you! And I always will! Would you spend the rest of your life with me?

Capture- Ruler: I could really use someone like you. Care to join my forces? Enemy General: Showing mercy to your enemies... A sign of true nobility.

LEARNED BOY / YOUNG MAN / YOUTH – (“Learned boy” sounds like a child.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I will see an end to this turbulent time. Would you offer your help? Aide: Understood. I will do whatever little I can to help you achieve your ambitions! Unaffiliated: This isn’t the end of my ambitions! I’m going to take this world, you’ll see!

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: I will never forget this day, the day that we swear an oath binding us. Officer B: Let us swear upon this land that we will strive to help each other in our times of need.

Confession- Confessor: I must ask your forgiveness in advance for the abruptness of what I am about to say. I love you. Please, give me the honor of protecting you for the rest of my life.

Capture- Ruler: It would be a shame to lose someone like you. Will you join my forces? Enemy General: So you’re not going to kill me? And you want me to join you? Hmm.

TOUGH YOUNG MAN / YOUTH / MAN – (Brash and rude ore-sama type. “Tough man” sounds somewhat calmer and more mature.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I’ll make this land mine! You’re helping me, got it? Good. Aide: I’m with you! But you better see this thing through, alright? Unaffiliated: Just you watch! I’m going to take this world for myself!

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: Bet you can’t believe your luck right now, getting to chum up with me. Well, I’m kinda happy too, you know? Haha! Officer B: Let’s shake the world up a bit, alright? We can swear it on this land, right now!

Confession- Confessor: Ah… How do I put this… I’ve take a liking to you. That’s why I think we should be together from now on. How ‘bout it?

Capture- Ruler: I can use someone like you. Any objections to joining me? Enemy General: What? No finishing blow? Hehe… Well I just hope you don’t regret it afterwards.

STERN YOUNG MAN / YOUTH / MAN

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I will set out to unify this land. Will you accompany me on my journey? Aide: As you wish. Make use of me however you see fit. Unaffiliated: The time for lying low has come to an end.

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: This oath that we swear binds us together, and may we help each other in our times of need. Officer B: I shall never forget how we talked of dreamed ambitions here today.

Confession- Confessor: Perhaps I have approached this too formally, but a sudden wave of nerves has washed over me… I would like to spend the rest of my life with you. What do you say?

Capture- Ruler: A blade swung without reason is mere violence. I would have you join me instead. Enemy General: If I am to live on for another day, then perhaps I should consider myself fortunate...

CONFIDENT YOUNG MAN / YOUTH / MAN

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I’ll do whatever it takes to rule over this land. Not that I even need to ask, but you’re with me, right? Aide: Sure. I reckon you’ll let me spread my wings and use my talents to their full potential. Unaffiliated: Hah! Is that our competition? We’ll have them licking our boots in no time!

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: I don’t go around swearing oaths with just anyone, you know? You should feel honored. Officer B: I bet they’ll sing songs about this place. As the land where we formed our bond and started our legend together.

Confession- Confessor: You truly are an exquisite creature. Only someone like you would be suitable to be my wife. So how about it? Be with me, and I might even promise to make you happy.

Capture- Ruler: I believe you’d flourish under my command. Will you join me in my grand endeavor? Enemy General: So you have taken notice of my potential? You have a good eye for talent, I’ll give you that.

STERN / SPRIGHTLY / IMPULSIVE VETERAN – (Old man who often references his age. “Stern” is even and calm; “Sprightly” is more energetic; “Impulsive” is raspier and speaks faster.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: Age has little effect on one’s ambition. Will you lend me your hand so that we may end this terrible time? Aide: As you wish. I am sure you will find good use for my experience accumulated over decades. Unaffiliated: I’m a later bloomer, perhaps, but I’m still going to bloom my best.

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: From this day forth we are to be united by oath. It brings me joy to walk alongside you. Officer B: We shall swear upon this land. Let us bear each other’s burdens for as long as we may draw breath!

Confession- Confessor: I have lived through more winters than I should care to mention, yet, this is the first time I have ever felt like this. I want to spend the rest of my days by your side. Would you consider my proposal?

Capture- Ruler: This is such a sorry place for someone to die. Would you not join my ranks instead? Enemy General: You would ask me to shame myself… Well, I suppose there is no other choice.

STERN / SPRIGHTLY / QUIET OLD TACTICIAN – (Old man who often references his years of experience. “Stern” is raspier; “Sprightly” sounds somewhat calmer than the others; “Quiet” is deep and a little unemotional.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: Perhaps it is finally time that I dust off my armor. Would you follow me, and help put an end to this chaos? Aide: My wisdom and long years of experience have all been for this cause. Your cause. Unaffiliated: Yes, I suppose it is still not too late to take rule over this land.

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: It is truly a good thing to have a comrade one can trust. This alliance will bring out the best in us both. Officer B: No man may fracture our kinship. Let us swear upon this land!

Confession- Confessor: When I am with you, the world seems a more beautiful place. I can feel a spring in my step. Becoming husband and wife would be the zenith of happiness for me...

Capture- Ruler: Think calmly for but a moment! Is this truly the place you would choose for your death? Enemy General: So your machinations involve me being alive...

OLD FASHIONED BOY / YOUNG MAN / MAN- (Calm and formal. “Boy” sounds like a teenager; “Man” is very deep.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I will stand up for peace in this land. Would you lend me your blade in assistance? Aide: As you command. My power is yours to wield. Unaffiliated: Now we’ll see just how far my skills can get me!

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: It is an utmost honor to swear an oath with you! I hope this kinship brings us a brighter future! Officer B: Let us swear upon this land that we shall perform great deeds!

Confession- Confessor: At first, I thought to write you a love letter, yet, I wanted to see the reaction on your face. It is my wish that we could be husband and wife. Would… would you accept my proposal?

Capture- Ruler: I can tell you possess great ability. Will you consider joining me? Enemy General: It shames me to be the recipient of such mercy...

FREE SPIRITED YOUNG MAN / YOUTH / MAN

Take Up Arms- Ruler: I will need your help to fulfill my dream of ruling the world. Are you in, or out? Aide: Well, if you really think I can help you, I’ll do my best. Unaffiliated: Well, I just need to stick to the plan, and my chance will come.

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: I finally have a comrade that I can rely on for anything. This calls for a celebration! Officer B: And now we have sworn a pact together. I will remember every detail of this day as long as I live.

Confession- Confessor: Night and day, I can’t get you off my mind. I’ve fallen for you big time. I’m done goofing off. I’m going to take things more seriously. So… umm… Would you marry me?

Capture- Ruler: A new master will not change who you are. Wouldn’t you agree? Enemy General: Haha! What now! Are you even for real? Nobody is that nice!

NOBLE BOY / YOUNG MAN / OLD MAN – (“Boy” sounds like a preteen/young teenager.)

Take Up Arms- Ruler: From this moment on, I have decided to rule over this land. Will you join me? Aide: Understood. I fear my capabilities may be limited but I will try in earnest to support you. Unaffiliated: So those are the traits of a true leader… Perhaps one day I may hope to be the same.

Oath of Brotherhood- Officer A: From here on out, we are bound to this cause. Through glory and hardship, united! Officer B: Then let us combine our strengths and spread our wings over this land that is rightly ours.

Confession- Confessor: This era of chaos wears so heavily on my heart. But with you by my side… I feel that the burden is lifted. If only I could spend the rest of my life with you. What do you say?

Capture- Ruler: It would be a shame to lose someone of your skill. Would you consider exercising your abilities under my command instead? Enemy General: You would spare my life? Who am I to refuse this kindness...
