Thought on the Miyagi-do!Reader idea but like kinda 180-(Made up plot idea) Spicy Eagle-Fang!Hawk who is only a little more nicer then he was in cobra kai, he still messes with the Miyagi-do students and doesn't like being around them. It's a hassle to even have him near them while they separately train at the dojo.

That is until he sees Reader. She's a super shy Miyagi-do kid who just joined to have a little fun doing karate and make new friends. She ultimately hangs out with Sam and Demetri a lot. When I say shy I mean she is SHY, she runs off the minute she's uncomfortable. Retreating to the safety of her tiny friend group or dojo.

Hawks attitude and feelings about this are a mix of finding her sweet but also wanting to see how sadistically far he can push her buttons. He would never tell the other guys but he gets off on seeing her clam up and run off the minute any of the eagle-fang kids come around. Seeing her get all nervous and flustered just gets him going.

That's why when the dojos start mingling he wants to be the first one to pair up with her😈

No, but like if she's borderline kind of scared of most of the Eagle Fang students- like, Miguel and Bert are okay. She's kind of friends with them; Miguel because of Sam and Bert because he's pretty much harmless. Reader stays close to Sam and Demetri as much as possible, when training allows it. She wants to practice with either of them over anyone else in all honesty.

So when she hears that they have to work with three Eagle Fang students, she's crossing her fingers that she'll get to train with Miguel or Bert at least. She's completely unaware that Hawk has already steaked his claim on a partner for the day, threatening the others that if they even try to ask Reader to be their partner, they'll regret it. Everyone thinks its just a little crush and hes looking to get close to Reader so he can impress her, not putting much more thought into it than that.

Everyone partners up and Reader is looking around like a lost puppy, tha is until Hawk approaches her with a twisted little smirk.

"Looks like we're the only two left," he says, as if he didn't calculate and scheme for this to happen.

He takes her to a corner of the yard where they're a little further away from everyone else and they start practicing, but Hawk makes it really frustrating. He pulls back a lot when it's supposed to be her turn to go through drills and hit him; he's supposed to block, but he's just dodging all her moves. It makes her so frustrated but she bits her tongue and tries to power through it.

She doesn't say much the whole time they're working together, following his lead because he's the more experienced student. So when her form is off, she doesn't really question how he tells her so. However, she starts to get flustered when he comes up behind her and fixes it. He's a little too close for comfort and she just wants to hide her face and run to the safety of the dojo. But she's frozen in place, letting him move her arms in tight as his breath fans her neck.

"There you go, just like that," he mumbles, then pulls away. He takes his place in front of her and takes up a stance. "Think you can hit me now?"

She hesitates but nods and he chuckles.

"Let's see you try."

She's a little too flustered to focus correctly and when they start sparring, she is completely taken off guard. She's not even on guard to begin with in all honesty. He pins her down easily when he doesn't even have to pin her down. He could have just as easily knocked her down or swept her leg. He just wants to get in her face and tease her about it.

"That all you got, sweetcheeks?"

He pinches her chubby cheeks as he calls her that and she whimpers. He mocks her by whimpering back, but holy fuck he's kind of obsessed with it and wants to make her make those noises more. So while they're training, he does everything he can to make her whimper and whine like that.

At one point, he grabs her jaw and squishes her heels, grinning in her face. She whimpers as she's kind of forced to look at him and he chuckles. "Come on, I knowbyou can break out of this hold. It's so easy."

He's almost sickly in love with it. If someone like Sam says something to him about it, he'll just brush it off as he was messing with her. Nothing more than that and she shouldn't be worried about anything. He scoffs at any implication that it was more than that, bullying Reader and what not.

However, I firmly know that this version of Hawk is still a total hothead on a hairline trigger and he's fiercely loyal. So once they've actually trained hand in hand with the Miyagi-Dos for a while, he'll say something like "I guess they're not as bad as they seem, but they're still annoying as Hell." But the moment a Cobra rears their head and spits so much as a little insult in their direction, he's bowing up and standing on the front lines.

This differs with Reader, though, especially since everyone knows she didn't start doing karate to help in this dojo vs dojo war zone. So if any one, Cobra Kais especially, mess with her or make her upset, it's on sight.

He'll never admit he's fallen for her little shy mannerisms or her round face or her sweet giggle he hears from time to time. No, that has nothing to do with it.

"What the fuck are you on about? You wanted me to be a team player, I'm playing for the fucking team!" this being said after her beat the snot out of a Cobra for pinching Reader's fatty arm and making her yelp.

In his mind, he's the only one that gets to do that, and be never goes as far as to actually hurt her.

"Looking out for each other and all that nice bullshit, right?"

He's borderline cruel but in his own special, from his heart kind of way. (Also it's a little funny if he probably has little experience trying to woo a girl and this might be one of his best efforts)

After watching all of Cobra Kai, I think we all need to make a petition for Jacob Bertrand to play more sad boy and mean boy roles! He just does such a good fucking job; it scratches an itch in my brain so well.

Here is the second thing that I had my reservations about this season- Miguel and Robby’s rematch in episode 5. This will be another long one.

First of all, the reason and motivation behind this fight seemed completely insane to me. The fact that Johnny sanctioned a no holds barred fight between them knowing what happened the last time Miguel and Robby fought under those circumstances is baffling to me, even by Johnny’s standards. The fact that Johnny forced them both to fight and put them in that position enrages me every time I think about it. In addition, I saw another post on here that said this fight begins on Johnny’s terms and ends on Miguel’s and that’s completely right. Poor Robby has no say in anything during this fight and since his arc consists of people-pleasing this season of course he would go along with it to win Johnny’s approval. Also I’m not sure I quite like the message here. What is the show trying to say ? That violence is the best method of conflict resolution ? I’m not buying it.

Then there’s the fight itself. I have always and will always view Miguel and Robby as equal fighters. I was hoping that this fight would end in a clear tie, similar to Johnny and Daniel’s Season 4 match. To me that would have been respectful to both characters. But even when it comes to fighting, the writers need to skew everything towards Miguel.

In S1 Robby was the true winner of the tournament but it’s Miguel who comes away with the trophy and never has his tarnished win questioned. In fact he’s celebrated for it by his friends, senseis and his fan base. He gets the title and reputation of ‘All-Valley champion’. In S2 Robby technically won by virtue of being the last man standing, however Miguel had him pinned and was the true winner beforehand, thus Miguel comes away from that looking like the better fighter. (I’m just purely looking at this in terms of fighting abilities and levels. Obviously the reality is there were no winners of the school fight. One kid ended up in a coma and the other on the run and eventually in juvie). The pool fight was very even until the last minute where Robby throws them into the pool. However neither Robby nor Miguel stans really count this as a proper fight and I understand that. If this was the writers’ attempt at giving Robby a win, it was pathetic.

Then we’re back to their S5 rematch where again, it’s pretty even but Miguel gets the CLEAR upper hand at the end. For me personally, I didn’t really see it as there being any true winner to this fight. Even if it was a dumb and dangerous idea, this fight was about getting their hate for each other out their systems- not about who was the better fighter. But nevertheless, even though the fight ended prematurely, the writers had to have the last moments with it looking like it was going Miguel’s way and that it would continue to do so. Now Miguel’s die hard stans are REVELLING.

If this fight really needed to take place (which it didn’t but never mind), I would liked to have actually seen is Robby getting the upper hand if anyone was going to. And that’s NOT because I’m desperate for him to beat Miguel. What I thought might happen is Robby getting Miguel into the position where he’s against the railing. It would then be Robby who holds back from repeating the same mistake he made at the school fight and he would then go on to apologise (and ideally, apologies would have been a two-way street). To me this would have been more full circle and would have presented far more growth for Robby who would now be able to hold back where he couldn’t before. The fact that they’ve had Miguel ‘sparing’ Robby in this fight and then later on saving him in the dojo fight- surely it would have been more poetic and again full circle of Robby was the one sparing and saving Miguel? This would really be a redemption arc where Robby is now saving and fighting for the person he once gravely injured. The writers can’t even let my man Robby redeem himself with a little dignity.

On to another thing I didn’t like the presentation of. I can understand Miguel asking “why didn’t you hold back ?”, but the circumstances of the two fights were different and this should have been addressed. The S5 fight was started by the two of them being forced by johnny to fight it out ( and more that yet again, Miguel strikes first). The S2 fight was started by Miguel attacking Robby unprovoked. Miguel is partly at fault for pushing Robby to a point where he was so enraged that he couldn’t hold back. (And I’m not trying to detract from Robby’s responsibility here, but as I said in my last post, Robby isn’t solely responsible. Miguel had a significant hand in it). So I didn’t like the way Miguel was asking this as if he were completely innocent and had the moral high ground.

Another thing I didn’t really like the presentation of were the flashbacks, because they were selective. The writers cherry picked a few moments in the fight from Miguel’s point of view. The moments shown of the fight in the lead up to Miguel getting kicked off the balcony, painted Robby as the aggressor. However we know the opposite is true. A whole lot of context was left out of those flashbacks. If we were going to get Miguel’s flashbacks at the top of the stairs at Johnny’s apartment block, we should have got Robby’s flashbacks at the bottom (especially of Miguel attacking and taunting him). This would have been far more balanced and showed why their anger at each other was mutual. People forget that Robby will also have trauma from the school fight as well as some justifiable anger at Miguel for his part in escalating things. But again, the writers never like to explore Robby’s POV, so as usual he comes out looking like the bad guy.

I would much rather have seen Miguel and Robby resolve things through conversation, as I said in my last post. The fact that they had Johnny force two kids with trauma from their last fight, to fight again really just doesn’t sit right with me. The writers could have still given them an exciting rematch under much safer circumstances ending in a draw, perhaps in a training exercise. I didn’t like the reasoning behind why the fight in Episode 5 happened. I believe there are healthier ways to resolve conflict and get things out your system than “hashing it out.”

you never liked fighting much you would always avoid fights and hangout with your brother or Demetri until Eli or hawk now had joined cobra kai at first, you didn't mind and even liked the confidence it gave him but the when he started to become a jerk you lost any liking you had to it the last straw was when he broke Demetri's arm you had made the decision to stay with moon his ex but still your best friend he would constantly text you or talk to you at school but you always walked away or ignore him this lasted awhile but then one day you got a text from Miguel saying that hawk had joined eaglefang and had changed his attitude after talking to moon about it you had started talking to your brother again and things were good until he came to the dojo one day with his mohawk shaved you were so mad at that moment you weren't thinking straight so you got in your car ignoring the protests of the others and drove to cobra kais dojo to confront them "hello" you shout but with no reply "i know someone's here the door was open so come out" you shout again but still no reply "i said co-" you begin to shout again but are interrupted by a boy coming from the back room "who the hell are you?" he asks scratching his neck, yawning as if he had just woken up "I'm y/n Moskowitz i believe you know my brother" you say standing up straighter to look more intimidating "ya i know him payed him a visit earlier but he never mentioned having a sister specially not one as hot as you" he flirts you roll yours eyes at it "you seriously wanna flirt with me after what you did" you shout angrily "relax it'll grow back" he says annoyed at the situation "y/n get out here" you hear Miguel shout from outside "looks like big brothers to chicken to get you himself" Robbie says with a chuckle "this isn't over" you say "sure I'm Robbie by the way" he introduces but gets another eye roll in return "I'm not interested" you say before leaving the dojo.

The idea that Hawk has no idea how to woo a girl is equal parts hilarious and sad. His friends have no idea how to help him because they know that no matter what they tell him, he's not going to listen. So they sit back and watch to see him either somehow succeed or crash and burn.

Reader is a little too shy to see his actions for what they are, or what they're supposed to be. She think it's just his way of being. After all, he pushes Nafe and other Miyagi-Do students around too, so how is she any different in his eyes? She doesn't realize that whenever they aren't partnered up together for training, he gets mad and takes out his anger on whoever was unfortunate enough to be his partner that day.

Things take a bit of a turn when everyone goes to the beach. The ladies convinced shy, sweet, chubby Reader to wear a bikini because they want to empower her and make her confident in herself. They want to break her our of her shell, but things don't go quite as planned.

While everyone is enjoying themselves, having fun playing volleyball or splashing around in the water, Reader is staying on the beach with a book. She's just minding her own business, chilling under the umbrella, when a guy walks by a makes a snide comment about how "whales shouldn't wear bikinis." It touches a nerve, especially since she was feeling pretty good about herself up until that point.

She tries to cover up with her towel and hide all her curves and fat while tears brim her eyes. Mind you, this entire time, Hawk had been checking her out all day, unable to really take his eyes off of her ever since they got there. Now all of a sudden she's scrambling to cover up and Hawk's stomach twists up in knots.

So he goes over and sits with her, throwingnhis arm around her kind of brutishly and pulls her close. He's trying to be comforting without anyone else realizing it and it's a fucking disaster. Like, everyone sees that and is like "what the fuck is he doing?" and believing that whatever happened, Hawk is making it worse.

Anyway, Reader ends up telling him what was said and he gets mad. He asks her who said it and she just points out the guy without thinking much of it. She's rubbing the tears from her eyes and when she looks up, Hawk is gone and she doesn't know where he went.

Next thing anyone knows, Hawk is bloodying the sand with that guy's face. It takes Miguel and two other guys to pull him off of the guy and drag him to the car before someone calls the cops. They get out of there pretty fast after that, and the whole ride back from the beach, Reader can't decide if she's more frightened or flattered by Hawk's actions.

It takes several days for her to come to some kind of conclusion. On one hand, no one's ever gone out of their way to do something like that for her, but on the other hand this is Hawk we're talking about. She's a little conflicted as the feelings start to bubble up, but she thinks a guy like him couldn't possibly like her. He shows no interest in her after all, pushing all her buttons and teasing her everyday, laughing at her when she whines or whimpers.

She's convinced he doesn't like her like that and there's nothing else to it.

They continue to train like normal but it seems Hawk's attempts at making Reader his have ramped up. On days when he isn't partnered up with her, he now uses them to try showing off and impressing her. He's seen the way she looks at him now after what happened at the beach and he takes that as a sign to keep beating up people. Anyone who looks at her the wrong way gets their teeth kicked in and a free nose job. It's still a big shock to her, but when he tells her they were laughing behind her back or that they said something about her, she's a little more at ease with it.

Reader eventually confesses to Sam about these new feelings she's been having. Hawk used to make her nervous before, but never like this, where her face gets super hot and her heart feels like it's about to burst out of her chest. Her hands get shaky and she end up rambling whenever he's around. Samnis shocked by the admission, especially when Reader says, "But I know a guy like him could never like me."

And Sam loses it. "Are you kidding me? He's literally beating the shit out of people for you. He's been trying to ingress you and get your attention for months. His attempts at flirting are so bad, I'm not surprised you haven't noticed, but he literally looks st you as if you're the sun, moon, and stars."

"That can't be true-"

"When he pins you down, it turns him on. Why would I make that up?"

Even with all of that said, Reader is still unsure. It isn't until Hawk tries to make his move does she see it.

Another little putting with their friends, this time to the movies. Hawk is sitting right beside Reader and when it's nice and dark in the theater, he puts his arm around her. She doesn't think much of it, but when they're a distant amount into the movie, he puts a hand on her thigh and squeezes it. She squeaks out of shock and a little embarrassment, looking at Hawk and silently asking him what was thay for.

He only chuckles and leans in close to her. "God, your cute."

She gets hot and looks down, trying to hide how he effects her, but he sees it. He tilts her head up and kisses her, taking her by surprise. All those things Sam told her come flooding back and she realizes that it's true, he likes her. She has no idea what to do, though, and freezes up.

Reader doesn't let him finish, finding some ounce of courage to pull him back to her and kiss him. He melts into it immediately and pulls her close.

They're feverishly kissing each other, then haphazardly making out as they navigate the theater seats. Reader shyly pulls away, suddenly aware that the darkness of the theater doesn't give them any cover at all and their friends can see them. You rolled your eyes while taking a drink to avoid the conversation.

You were feeling hot from the crowded room, so you were a little confused on how she was the opposite, but you did so nevertheless. You removed the cropped denim jacket to expose more of the little black dress you had on. You smiled while handing it to her.

A pat on his shoulder made him jump as he was forced to look away.

“Hey, man,” Hawk greeted. He noticed you and looked back at Miguel with a smirk. “You gonna make a move tonight, or what?”

Miguel chuckled nervously and shook his head. “I don’t think she likes me like that. I mean, we’ve been friends since we were both in Cobra Kai. Isn’t that a bit weird?”

“It’s true! Remember that time you went out with Sam and she nearly broke some kid’s arm. Or when she got asked out and you broke the practice dummy.”

Even though Hawk’s statements were technically true, Miguel still had his doubts. What would a girl like you want with a guy like him?

“You just gotta go for it, man. Before someone else does,” Hawk advised and motioned his head towards Chris and Mitch who had started talking to you. You immediately started smiling and laughing at what they were saying.

Miguel held back a glare as he handed his cup to Hawk. He cheered, “That’s my boy!”

Your laughter died down as Miguel approached the three of you. You smiled at him in greeting that he returned before looking at Chris and Mitch.

“Robby wants you guys to refill the cooler outside,” he told them.

“But I just did five minutes ago,” Mitch said.

“Well, he wants you to do it. Again.”

Miguel was grateful Chris was the smarter one between the two as he was beginning to catch on.

“Yeah, it’s no problem.” There was almost a smug smile on Chris’ face. “Come on, man.” He began dragging Mitch away, the boy complaining that he already did once again.

That just left you and Miguel.

You glanced behind you to see your friends had ran off somewhere, of course. There was a small beat of silence between you two.

“How are you?”

“This is a great party.”

You two spoke at the same time. You both laughed.

“Sorry. You go first,” Miguel insisted.

“I said this is a great party,” you repeated. “I’m surprised your mom was okay with it.”

“Well, Johnny told her that it was just Miyagi-Do and Eagle Fang ‘hanging out.’”

When you were about to respond, someone knocked into you. As you tripped forward slightly, Miguel had his arms out to catch you. You sheepishly apologized while standing straight.

“Um, did you wanna go somewhere less crowded,” he proposed.

You nodded and started following him out. People from school were still showing up and it seemed the outside was becoming just as packed. You maneuvered around while still trying to keep up with Miguel. He turned to face you and offered his hand out so you wouldn’t lose each other. You took it, trying to hide your growing smile.

He guided you across towards his apartment. He opened the door and let you inside first. You were still able to hear the music and chatter of people, but it reduced slightly. Plus, you guys were completely alone now.

“Sorry. I thought it would be better here to talk and stuff. Unless you wanted to go back to the party. I’m fine with either, I just assumed—“

“It’s fine, Miguel,” you cut him off with a light chuckle. “It was getting a little overwhelming out there.” You set your empty cup on the dining table and moved to lean on the edge of the couch.

“C-can I tell you something,” he asked, standing in front of you.

“You can tell me anything.”

Your smile made him weak in the knees. His hands suddenly felt clammy as he clenched and unclenched his fists.

Meeting halfway, Miguel’s lips pressed against yours in a savory kiss. His hands rested on his either side of your neck, his thumbs on the underside of your jaw and pulling you in even closer. You pulled away briefly, seeing his heart-shaped pupils and puffed lips parted. He pulled you back in with urgency.
