Travel service providers Easy Trip Planners Q4 profit drops 23% to Rs 23 cr

Online travel service provider Easy Trip Planners Ltd on Wednesday reported a 23.4 per cent decline in consolidated net profit at Rs 23.34 crore for the fourth quarter ended March, impacted by lower revenue and higher expenses.

The company, which operates under the EaseMyTrip brand, had posted a consolidated net profit of Rs 30.47 crore in the same quarter of previous fiscal, Easy Trip Planners said in a regulatory filing.

Consolidated revenue from operations during the quarter under review stood at Rs 60.9 crore as against Rs 66.47 crore in the corresponding period a year ago, it added.

Air segment bookings grew by 13 per cent to 20.5 lakh in the fourth quarter as compared to 18.2 lakh in the year-ago period, the company said.

Total expenses during the quarter were higher at Rs 32.98 crore as compared to Rs 27.18 crore in the year-ago period.

For the fiscal year ended March 31, 2022, consolidated net profit was at Rs 105.92 as against Rs 61.01 crore in the previous fiscal, the company said.

The relentless selling by FPIs has been a major headwind for the market, particularly for banking stocks. But it is not having any significant impact on the market other than putting a cap on the upside of the rally.

NEW DELHI: Benchmark indices wiped off morning gains and plunged to close lower for the second day on Monday amid concerns over rising cases of Omicron virus in Europe and surging inflation across the world.

The 30-share pack Sensex declined 503.25 points or 0.86 per cent to close at 58,283.42. The index plunged over 900 points from day’s high. Its broader peer NSE Nifty dropped 143.05 points or 0.82 per cent to 17,368.25.

“Given the rising global inflation, the policy outcome of key central bank meetings, especially the US Fed and European Central Bank, will be keenly monitored by the markets to determine its trends,” said Vinod Nair, Head of Research at Geojit Financial Services.

: US consumer prices increased further in November as the cost of goods and services rose broadly amid supply constraints, leading to the largest annual gain since 1982. India is also set to report inflation data for November this week, which analysts say may rise further.

Fed meeting

: The Federal Reserve is widely expected to signal a faster tapering of asset buying this week, and thus an earlier start to rate hikes. It will also update the dot plots for rates over the next couple of years. The European Central Bank and the Bank of Japan are also set to review their monetary policies this week.

UK reels under Omicron: Omicron remained a concern with British Prime Minister Boris Johnson warning of a ‘tidal wave’ of new cases of the coronavirus variant, though markets are still counting on vaccines to limit the economic fallout.

Broader Market Among the bluechip names, Axis Bank was the top gainer, rising 2.39 per cent. Tech Mahindra, SBI Life Insurance, Wipro, Hindalco Industries, Maruti Suzuki, Power Grid and Titan were other gainers.

Bajaj Finance was the top loser in the Nifty pack, falling 2.99 per cent. Bajaj Finserv, Reliance Industries, M&M, Tata Consumer, Nestle India, Indian Oil and Britannia Industries were others that ended in the red.

Broader market indices ended lower but outperformed their headline peers. Nifty Smallcap dropped 0.11 per cent and Nifty Midcap declined 0.25 per cent. Nifty 500, the broadest index on NSE, ended down 0.60 per cent.

VIP Industries, Sun Pharma Advanced Research, Alok Industries, Tata Communication, Sona Comstar and Syngene International were top gainers from mid and smallcap indices, climbing in the range of 3-9 per cent.

Vodafone Idea, Zee Entertainment Enterprises, Endurance Technologies, CAMS, IDBI and Suzlon Energy were major losers from broader market space, falling in the range of 3-6 per cent.

Barring Nifty IT that rose 0.31 per cent, all sectoral indices were trading lower. Nifty Media was the top loser, down 1.81 per cent. Nifty Realty and Nifty PSU Bank were others that slipped more than 1 per cent.

Market breadth was in favour of gainers as 1,912 stocks ended in the green, while 1,554 names settled with cuts. As many as 317 securities hit 52-week highs, mostly from the smallcap space. Meanwhile, 30 names hit 52-week lows, mostly from the microcap space. About 575 stocks hit upper circuit limits and 30 lower circuit limits.

European markets were trading mixed. London-based FTSE was down 0.05 per cent while Paris and Frankfurt declined 0.20 per cent and 0.88 per cent, respectively. In Asia, Japan, Thailand, Indonesia and China ended the day in green while the rest closed in the red.

How to book UDAN Scheme flight tickets - UDAN YOJNA

Want to book a flight ticket under UDAN YOJNA?. This blog is for you. Travelling through flights was a luxury high-class symbol and generally rich people used to travel via flights.

But now India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has made it possible and easy for middle and low-class people to make use of flights at a cheaper cost by launching Udan Yojna in 2017 at Shimla by hosting a flag in the inauguration of regional flights between Delhi and Shimla.

The government’s budget for this scheme was Rs.450 billion. This scheme will operate for 10 years from 2017.

Udan here means “Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik”. this scheme will boost the number by litigating the development of India’s expected target of almost 425 unserved, underserved, underdeveloped regional airports with increasing the regular number of fights.

This scheme contains two components, first- is to develop new airports and improve the already existing regional airports to increase the number of operational airports for scheduled regular flights from 70 to minimum 150 airports from May 2016 till December 2018 (including army airports).

And the second component is to add hundreds of financially viable, capped-airfare, new regional flight routes in order to build a connection between more than 100 underserved and unserved airports in small towns with each other as well as with well-maintained airports in metropolitan cities by adding (VGF) “Viability Gap Funding” as per the requirement.

Some key points of this scheme are:

If you are travelling in the range of 500 km then you are required to pay Rs 2500+ tax, if you are travelling in less than 500 km like 475 km the also you are required to pay Rs 2500+ taxes. On the other hand, if you are travelling above 500 km then you will pay according to Rs 5000+ taxes.

Udan scheme is specially made to connect the regional small airports with less schedules travels and flights with airports of bigger cities.

In this scheme airports of Allahabad in Uttar Pradesh, Kanpur, Banaras, Lakhimpur Kheri, Rajasthan’s Bikaner, and Jaisalmer, Gujrat’s Jamnagar and bhavnagar, Jorhat in Assam, Bathinda, and Pathankot in Punjab are included.

In this scheme 50% of the seats in the flights will be fixed for a fare of max Rs 2500 and rest will be according to the market fares.

According to this in fixed-wing airplanes, the time of the journey is estimated to max 1 hour and a half-hour in helicopters.

In case of loss to airlines subsidy will be provided under VGF.

The central government will have to reduce 1% VAT in security and fire fighting services for this scheme.

No landing and parking charges will be applied on these flights.
