ECHOBLENDER - experimental delay/distortion fog maschine

The ECHOBLENDER is based on the “Echobender” by Casper Electronics with some tweaks for improved control. A device for dark echos (low pass filtered) and the ‘blackened’ noise of the internal distortion feedback. This machine is a delay/distortion bastard. Plus it kills fascists! The controls, from upper left to lower right: DRY VOLUME, FEEDBACK(DISTORTION), WET VOLUME, COARSE TIME, FINE TIME, REPEATS. It’s a true-bypass effect with a foot-switch and a ultraviolet indicator LED and an orange clipping/limiting diode in the feedback path to make better use of the self oscillations. Instead of just a blend pot, the ECHOBLENDER has two separate VOLUME pots for a precise mix of DRY and WET signal. With the WET at zero, the DRY also works as a signal BOOSTER to increase volume of the input signal. The FEEDBACK pot let’s you play with the self-oscillation and/or distortion capabilities of this versatile effect. With the DECAY fully clockwise you get classic delay self-oscillations. Get lost in a world of foggy delay noise clouds. Build into a die-cast aluminum enclosure painted with an unique 'burned out industry camo' pattern with a METSÄÄN sticker. Power-socket: 9V DC , 2,1mm DC jack boss-style (inside -/+ outside) PSU is NOT included.Handmade by GRM for METSÄÄN. BUY HERE. (link to webshop.)

Limited edition of 4 hand-numbered copies. This is [totform32]. www.totes-format.tk
Marketing Deception: proDUCT FLOOD
First installment of a of the proDUCT FLOOD series of super limited and extra expensive releases by COLDSORE. A bargain for collectors and an affront to others, including the producer aka bloated artist.
What's the difference between a consumer good and bad art? What unites bad consumers and art gods? When the accumulation of produce and profit has reached a level of consumer satisfaction, the tracks of the series will be made available in a compiled form at a dumping price for all cultural bottom-feeders. One of us. DIRTY DRONE LOWLIFE + ECHOBLENDER #5

The DIRTY DRONE LOWLIFE + ECHOBLENDER is an experimental subbass and drone texture generator combined with an experimental delay/distortion unit. It is housed in a die-cast aluminum pedal enclosure painted with the 'burned out industrial camo' patterns. The DIRTY DRONE LOWLIFE can be manually triggered by a TRIGGER button and externally with a TRIGGER/GATE input. The DECAY has a SHORT/LONG switch to select the range and a DECAY pot (works counterclockwise) to fine tune it, from snappy to loooong. An orange LED indicates triggers and the decay. With the DRONE toggle switch it can be set to play a constant drone sound as well. The sound is that of two oscillators each with an array of possible settings: TRIANGLE/SQUARE and CLEAN/DIRTY toggle switches and of course a FREQUENCY control. Oscillator 1 has an additional OFFSET control, that has a CV input with a very limited useful range from 1.6-2.6V (with an orange indicator LED). Both oscillators are mixed with the BLEND control, that allows to shape the output waveform in a relatively linear manner, but the build in LDRs (Light Dependent Resistors) can also used for that. When they are selected with the BLEND SELECT toggle switch ‘throwing shade’ or ‘shining light’ allows for a non-linear modulation of the blend, by hand gestures for example. The signal then runs through a resonant low pass filter with CUTOFF FREQUENCY, RESONANCE and SATURATION control. In the end of the signal chain is a VOLUME control. From there it either goes to the DRY OUT or if nothing is plugged into the DRY OUT to the ECHOBLENDER, which also as an input for an external signal, so it can be used independently from the LOWLIFE.

DIRTY DRONE LOWLIFE + ECHOBLENDER #4 - a subbass/texture generator + experimental delay/distortion

The DIRTY DRONE LOWLIFE + ECHOBLENDER is an experimental subbass and drone texture generator combined with an experimental delay/distortion unit. It is housed in a recycled wooden box painted with broken hexagon (burned out industrial camo) patterns with a scratched dark grey aluminum face plate. STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY + ECHOBLENDER - eruptive harsh noise assault patterns with distortion delay

The description of the STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY is followed up by the one for the ECHOBLENDER, as in this unit both METSÄÄN machines are in series and let me tell you it is an instant doom noise set-up.
The STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY is a machine to generate glitched-out eruptive noise assault patterns. it is a signal generator for for those who are interested in exploring the harsher spectrum of experimental noise making. STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY can be the base battery for any anti-fascist noise resistance set-up and running it through a chain of manipulating EFX will lead to massive sonic results. Simply put… 5 square wave oscillators of which 2 are LFOs generate complex wave forms which are getting further effected by a starve control, a distortion and a resonant low pass filter.
Of course nothing really is simple, so here are more details:
WAVING: Each of the 3 square wave oscillators has a FREQUENCY potentiometer for controling pitch, a RANGE toggle switch to select 2 different frequency ranges, a MODE toggle switch that enables latch or trigger mode and a TRIGGER button switch, as well as a orange indicator LED. In trigger mode, the oscillator is mixed into the signal only momentary as long as the trigger is depressed. But be aware, the machine has a non-linear response in the trigger section and sometimes an oscillator raises it's voice even when you did not engage it with the trigger, that is part of the fun and it can get less out of control depending on the starve setting. when the oscillator's LED is on it's LED is on and it might or might not switch off when you repress the trigger, but as said, this function is highly stochastic and i have not been able to predict it (a lesson for control freaks!). All three oscillators have different ranges, higher on the left and lowering towards the right. A MIX toggle switch selects linear or non linear mixing, the non-linear mixing is a bit more uneven and noisy.
MODULATING: Each of the 2 LFOs has a SPEED control and similar to the other oscillators a MODE toggle switch and when in trigger mode the LFO can be activated temporally, which is most interesting when running in higher speeds for tremolo-like effects or high pitch noise assaults in the highest setting.
SOUNDSHAPING: the signal generated with oscillators with or without LFOs is shaped by two more controls, which are highly depending on other setting on the machine, so they as well, do not have a fully linear response. the EDGE control works like a distortion, that adds more sharp edges to the waveform, resulting in 'higher harmonics', while the CURVE control acts like a resonant low pass filter that rounds off the already very 'edgy' squarewave forms and it has slight self-resonance. Both of these controls are as such not affected by the power-starve function, but works differently the more the oscillator section is starved. With very much starving (STARVE counterclockwise) the CURVE control can generate almost electro-acoustic sounding crunch and hiss for example (see demovideo). Of course there is also a VOLUME control that lets you tame the output level.
STARVING: The STARVE control regulates the power that is accessible to the IC that is used for the 5 oscillators and when one turns it down (CCW) the different oscillators start to get more stochastic in their functions so the generated waveform becomes more noisy. Turning STARVE counterclockwise also has a global scale effect, it lowers the pitch of the three oscillators and the speed of the LFOs, but at the same time it also introduces high pitched noises and clicks. Similar to the other trigger functions on this machine there is also a POWER toggle switch, that is either in latch mode or activates the power trigger mode, which interacts with the STARVE function. When starve is up (CW) the decay time of the oscillators using up the available power is faster, while when STARVE is low the decay is longer, while the oscillators get less power in total.
CONNECTING: STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY runs on 12V DC (positive inside/negative outside, 2.1mm standard socket) and unless otherwise communicated it ships with a suitable recycled PSU with euro-plug. The audio output is a standard 6.3mm mono instrument jack socket, but beware that due to the special enclosures it might not work with angled plugs.
The ECHOBLENDER is based on the “Echobender” by Casper Electronics with some tweaks for better control. The controls, from upper left to lower right: DRY VOLUME, FEEDBACK(DISTORTION), WET VOLUME, FINE TIME, COARSE TIME, REPEATS. Instead of just a blend pot, the ECHOBLENDER has two separate VOLUME pots for a precise mix of DRY and WET signal. The FEEDBACK pot let’s you play with the self-oscillation and/or distortion capabilities of this versatile effect. With the DECAY fully clockwise you get classic delay self-oscillations. This STOCHASTIC ASYMMETRY is build into a recycled wooden cigar box painted with the 'industrial burn-out' camo pattern in chrome and black. Handmade by GRM for METSÄÄN.

DIRTY DRONE DELUGE - a gesture/shadow modulated 4step sequencer with delay/distortion

This machine is named Dirty Drone Deluge, because the sequenzer is flooding the delay for a tight current of sounds. Here's a track, that i have made with it, with my COLDSORE project: https://totstellen-grmmsk.bandcamp.com/track/concrete-sight It's enclosure is a recycled drawer box (25.5x16.5x9.5cm) of a wooden cabinet, painted in the 'burnt out industry' camo patterns in matte black and chrome. The panel is made of coarsely sanded plastique aluminum laminate with some stamped in function indicator letters. This METSÄÄN machine contains two sections: an extra noisy ECHOBLENDER delay/distortion (more on that in the ECHOBLENDER postings) and an 4-step sequenced synt voice. Each step has a FREQUENCY control, a RANGE toggle-switch (low/high) and a LDR (Light Dependent Resistor), that allows frequency control by throwing shade or shining light onto it (shadow=higher/light=lower). A SPEED control sets the sequencers tempo and another toggle-switch kills the sequencers signal to the ECHOBLENDER section. Furthermore there is an INPUT socket (6.3mm mono TS plug) for injecting external signals to the ECHOBLENDER, either passively mixing with the SEQUENZER's signal or just the external, when the sequenzer is switched off. The OUTPUT socket is also for 6.3mm mono TS plugs. Powered by standard 9V DC effect pedal power supplies (boss-style, negative pin inside). PSU is not included. Handmade by grm for METSÄÄN.
