En 1952, un joven Ian Stewart, piloto pionero de Ecurie Ecosse, visitaría Jaguar Cars en Coventry para recoger su nuevo tipo C. Conduciría el coche a su primera carrera en Jersey para enfrentarse a la dura competencia de Aston Martin y Frazer Nash. La carrera se ganó al galope y, al hacerlo, abrió el primer capítulo en la carrera internacional de automovilismo de Ecurie Ecosse.

El Jaguar C-type original fue una obra maestra tecnológica. El primer auto de carreras perfeccionado en túnel de viento. Ecurie Ecosse ha creado un nuevo automóvil para rendir homenaje a su éxito pasado, el Ecurie Ecosse LM-C.

Con el nuevo LM-C se rinde homenaje a C-Type creando un coche hermano numerado para cada uno. Meticulosos en sus detalles, como sus antepasados, hechos a mano en Coventry y ajustados por los técnicos de Ecurie Ecosse.

LA HISTORIA DEL ECURIE ECOSSE LM69

En 1956, un pequeño equipo de carreras de Escocia ganó las 24 Horas de Le Mans conduciendo un Jaguar D-Types y continuaría haciéndolo nuevamente en 1957.

Este equipo era Ecurie Ecosse quien desaparecería a principios de los 70 antes de volver a las carreras en los años 80 hasta nuestros días. En 1966, Jaguar cerró el programa XJ13 que los llevaría de regreso a Le Mans, después de percatarse que el auto ya era tecnología antigua, incluso antes de que llegara a la pista de carreras.

Con el LM69, Ecurie Ecosse se entendió lo que podría haber sido si el XJ13 hubiese sido actualizado para poder competir en el Le Mans de 1969.

Al asociarse con la compañía de réplicas de Diseño Q y XJ13, Building the Legend, el LM69 está legalizado para recorrer las calles y su construcción seguirá las regulaciones de la FIA de 1969, con un diseño mejorado del cuerpo, suspensión y V12 de 5.0 litros basado en la unidad del XJ13. Sólo se construirán 25.

Sir Jackie Stewart is one of Britain’s all time great sporting personalities, winning three Formula 1 World Championships, and 27 Grand Prix, ranking him as one of the ten greatest racing drivers of all time. From 1964-73, the “Flying Scot,” in his trademark tartan helmet, established a race-win record that remained unbroken in F1 for fourteen years. He was also an accomplished marksman, winning British, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, and English trap shooting championships between 1959-62. Cars and racing were his true passions though, and after failing to make the 1960 British Olympic shooting team, his focus shifted to racing exclusively. A near-death accident in the 1966 Belgium Grand Prix led Stewart to becoming the sports leading safety campaigner. 剛好最近看了2019賽車電影《賽道狂人Ford v. Ferrari》感受在比賽超速駕駛的快感，學習總在超越自我極限為生命不留下遺憾。

這大概是那僅生產過一部，且本應參加1960年代Le Mans賽事的Jaguar XJ13內心最深刻的呼喊。

等了半個世紀，限在終於有人想起了它。曾經贏過幾次Le Mans的蘇格蘭車隊Ecurie Ecosse，

決定以名為LM69的賽車向Jaguar XJ13致敬。

限量生產35部的Ecurie Ecosse LM69將在英國西米德蘭茲郡由工匠手工打造，價格未知，但肯定不低。
