Figuring out how to eat took Bat!Eddie a while, since, you know, he doesn’t have hands in bat form. He managed, though.

Steve would totally dance around his kitchen to 50s and 60s classics like Chuck Berry and the Beach Boys while cooking
and if he drags Eddie along to dance with him and twirls him around then it's okay because they laugh until their stomachs hurt and kiss and sway to the sounds of plucky guitars while the food grows cold but it's okay bc as long as they're together there's no place they'd rather be

Born To Run
Chapter 2
Warnings: mentions of blood
Chapter 1: link
"Ugh..." Berrie groaned as she climbed out of the dumpster, the rough edges scraping against her skin, and brushed herself off. She stumbled towards the mouth of the alleyway, trying to orient herself and find out where she was. Hopefully she wasn't far from home, it would suck to have to call her dad from halfway round the world.
Berrie blinked, brow furrowing as she took in her surroundings. She felt dizzy and nauseous but she was pretty sure she was still cognizant enough to recognize that the cars on the street were definitely foreign - rounded and chunky in greys and whites instead of the sleek, sharp designs in bright colors she was used to. Weird, and kind of dreary, but not her most pressing concern. She needed to find a phone and food. Maybe food first.
Berrie tugged her jacket over her school uniform, hoping it didn't have any blood on it and jogged across the street to the 24-hour store, feeling worse by the second, dark spots dancing in front of her vision. She'd intended to grab a small snack and phase through the nearest wall to avoid paying but she certainly wouldn't have the energy, she was pretty sure she'd pass out and get stuck if she tried.
She pocketed a couple of power bars hoping no one saw her and wandered the aisles a bit more until the cashier was busy. She was painfully aware of how frazzled she must look; burnt shoes, windswept hair, blood on her skirt and socks, covered in god-knows-what from the dumpster, and one wrong move from passing out. As the cashier turned away to retrieve a pack of cigarettes for the person in line, Berrie seized the opportunity and slipped out the front door.
"Hey! You need to pay for that!"
Berrie bolted but she knew she wouldn't get far and mostly hoped no one was chasing her. Instead, she found herself tripping on the curb and slamming her elbow into the hood of a cop car. Well, shit.
A blond man with bright blue eyes and a decent amount of stubble stepped out of the cruiser and rushed to help Berrie, catching her other arm before she could tumble to the ground.
"That looked like it hurt. Are you okay?" He asked with a concerned frown as he steadied her.
Berrie felt her legs trembling as she tried to hold herself upright. Her mouth was suddenly very dry and her vision was almost painfully blurry.
"Y-yeah, I-"
"Officer, thank god!" Berrie's answer was interrupted immediately by the furious shop owner. "I just caught that little hellion stealing from my store! Have her turn out her pockets." He demanded.
Berrie felt a brief flare of anger and wanted to argue, it was just a couple of power bars, what were they, like 30 cents each? What the hell was his problem? But she was too drained to do anything but try not to pass out as darkness crept in on the edges of her vision and she swayed slightly.
The officer raised an eyebrow and looked down at her. Berrie just shrugged, unable to summon the energy to come up with a good lie. She made a fist in her pocket, determined not to turn her pockets out and let the officer see not only the stolen power bars but the blood still in her nailbeds as well. This was just...hell. She wanted to curl up in her bed and sleep while her dad took care of everything like he'd said he would. She should have. She definitely should have.
"Don't got all night, kid." The shop owner said gruffly, crossing his arms and glaring down at her. "Just give it back and I won't press charges."
Berrie flipped him off with her clean hand instead. What a dick. She was tired. She didn't have time for this. Her head was starting to hurt and she just wanted to go home.
The officer sighed, looking tired, and turned his attention to the shop owner, pulling out his wallet. "I'll pay for it. How much?"
"$7.50." The shop owner spat.
Seven dollars? The damn man was price gouging, he deserved to be stolen from if Berrie had anything to say about it.
The officer fished out a ten and the shop owner snatched it before making his way back to his store leaving Berrie alone with the blond man.
"Come on, I'll give you a ride home." The officer said, nudging her back gently towards the passenger side of his cruiser. "Where do you live?" He asked.
"Um..." Berrie hesitated. She definitely wasn't anywhere near her home, certainly not driving distance, but how did she explain that? "I...not around here." She said lamely. God, she needed to lie down and stop talking, she wasn't helping anything. The officer motioned her towards the car again and Berrie couldn't really seem to string enough words together in a coherent sentence to refuse. Before he'd gotten the chance to ask where she lived again, darkness enveloped her, and she slumped unconscious in the passenger seat.
~~~~~
Eddie POV
~~~~~
"Best guess is she's a runaway teen. Who knows how long she's been out there," Eddie said, putting his hands on his hips as he spoke.
"Long enough." Joe commented, watching through the glass as a female officer offered the girl a box of juice and a sliced apple with peanut butter. "She tell you anything that might help us find her parents?"
Eddie shook his head, a small frown on his face. "She didn't say much before she fainted. Doesn't look like she's in a talking mood now either." He added, glancing at the female officer who looked mildly frustrated as the girl nibbled on one of the stolen power bars and slumped in her chair, not making eye contact.
The female officer left the room and Eddie and Joe both turned to her.
"Anything?" Joe asked and she huffed.
"Thawne. She told me her last name is Thawne. I guess she took a shine to your name." She said, shooting a withering look at Eddie. "She also wrote down a fake phone number for her dad - History Museum. In Canada. She thinks she's real funny."
Eddie sighed. He'd been a little worried this might be the case, but a part of him had hoped that she'd give them at least a shred of info to go on. "Alright. Well, I'll go see if anyone with her description has been reported missing in the area recently."
Joe nodded. "I'll see if I can get her to tell me why she ran away."
The female officer snorted. "Good luck."
"I raised Barry and Iris, I've had plenty of experience handling difficult kids and teen angst." Joe said with a wry grin before clapping Eddie on the shoulder and heading into the room.
Eddie made his way to his desk and turned on his computer, ready for hours of digging.

mechanic!eddie - 18+ MDNI !!!! (might turn into a full fic later on)
he raises a brow as he notices the worried look painted on your face, your eyes tracking his hands as he runs them down your torso, getting closer and closer to where you needed him.
"What is it, hunny?" he asks, settling himself on his knees in front of you.
"Your hands," you say, making a face.
"Yeah? what about 'em?"
you gesture to all the grease and grime. "they're all dirty," you say, earning a chuckle from him.
"Guess I'll just have to use my mouth then, huh?"
his hands dirty your pretty white skirt as he lifts it, but by now, that's the least of your worries. Now just a mere thought tucked away in the back of your mind as you watch him smile when he finally takes a look at you.
"Oh, so pretty," he mutters, more to himself than to you, but it sends a swarm of butterflies down to your stomach, and your pulse now in a different spot.
he looks up to you, grabbing your wrist and tapping at the hair tie. "you mind?" he asks, but he barely makes it through the question before you practically rip it off and throw it at him.
he laughs again. "thanks, sweetheart."
