September 2021 Monthly News Round-Up

It’s round-up time! Below the read more is a compilation of some notable news stories that we haven’t previously posted about.

This month features, an alternative idol staple disbanding, a new group with a lot of familiar faces, a new survival competition and always more!

AKB48

Member Mai Homma announced her graduation on September eighth, and graduated on September 30th. She stated in the blog entry that she had a new goal to pursue outside of the group. [x*] Yuki Suzuki has announced her graduation from the group has been set for September 27th. [x*]

ANGERME

Member Momona Kasahara’s graduation date has been set for November 15th. She announced in June that she would be graduating and leaving H!P. [x*]

Ange☆Reve

Emi Ando, former member of Jewel☆Ciel has joined the group. [x*]

Bananalemon

Former member Lety withdrew from the group on September 2nd, effective immediately. There was no reason stated for her sudden departure but it appears to be amicable on both sides. Bananalemon will continue as a trio. [X]

Burst Girl

The group has announced they will be disbanding on October 3rd. They cited difficulty hosting events during COVID. [x*]

HKT48

Member Anna Murashige announced that she will graduating the group before the end of 2021. She will continue in the entertainment industry afterwards. [x*]

Houkago Princess

Five members, Sasara Sekine, Saho Michishige, Nanase Kohinata, Momoka Sawada and Airi Nishimiya will be graduating from the group next spring. Their activities with their most recent single are their final activities. [x*]

IRONBUNNY

An idol unit that formed during the 2020 pandemic, due to the various factors have decided to end group activities. The three remaining members, Kotono, Minami, and Ediee have yet to announced their activities afterwards. [x*]

Jekyll & Hyde

The group has announced that they will be disbanding on October 3rd after their final live. [x*]

Juice=Juice

Member Tomoko Kanazawa has announced that she will be taking a break for approximately three weeks from activities due to her on-going illness. [x*]

Kamen Joshi

Member Tomoka Igari has withdrawn her graduation declaration. She will remain with the group. [x*]

Merry Bad End

The group has decided to suspend their activities after their November 6th live. [x*]

Morning Musume

Member Masaki Sato has announced that she will graduate the group on December 13th. She decided this due to her IBS limiting activities with the group. However, she will continue in individual musical activities once she graduates. [x*]

Nogizaka46

Member Ranze Terada has announced that she will be grading from the group after her activities for the 28th single conclude. No date has been set yet. [x*] Member Minami Hoshino announced that she will abstaining from activities with the group’s 28th single due to her admitting to meeting a man. She will be focusing on her work and being professional. [x*]

PEDRO

The solo project of biSH’s AYUNi D, intends to suspend the project after a final tour date on December 22nd. The group is going on indefinite hiatus, but no further reason for doing so has been given. [x*]

Sakurazaka46

Member Yui Kobayashi has announced that she will be temporarily suspending her activities with the group. She had been considering this since the beginning of the year and intends to return with full focus on the group when able. [x*]

STU48

Member Nana Okada has announced that she will be ending her activities with STU48 after the group’s 7th single. She’ll be focusing on activities with AKB48 afterwards. [x*]

Schrödinger's Dog

The group has announced that former member Meno’s contract has been ended. She had withdrawn from activities on August 11th, but otherwise there had been no further updates on her. The group will continue with their current line-up. x*]

Sekaisen

The new group consisted of former idols from IVOLVE, No,SateLight, and Funny Fable. The group debuted September 25th, using songs from IVOLVE to kick start their group. [x*]

Tokyo Performance Doll

The group has indefinitely suspended their activities after September 26th. [x*]

Who is Princess?

Nippon TV has partnered with Weverse global, NTV, and Hulu Japan with another survival program. They have 15 trainees, and intend to debut a five member group with a ‘Kpop’ feel in 2022. [x*]
