i’m new to the whole beatles rpf (i am an rpf veteran though i wrote 75k words of michael jackson fanfiction in middle school and 15k of queen freshman year of hs 😐) so what are like the tenets of beatles rpf. what’s the need to know.
YELLS that's so fucking valid of you I can't even lie
and HMMMM okay I can only speak for mclennon bc I observe the other ships from a distance but don't chomp at the bit about it but here's some things that come up A Lot in fics
john & paul met on july 6, 1957 at a church garden party. john played "come go with me" & got the words wrong while paul watched from the audience and Fell In Love. after, they officially met. paul took john's guitar, tuned it, then flipped it upside down (he's left handed) and played 20 flight rock perfectly. john was smitten and the rest was history
oh shit edit I forgot! john used to climb the drainpipe into pauls room. VITAL info that comes up so often
they had group wanking sessions (beat the meatles lmfao) & they'd call out the names of various female celebrities during it (john would apparently call out male names as a joke to throw people off which 💀)
STUUUUUU. we love stu, paul hates stu. stuart sutcliffe was a boy john met at art college & he became His Boy Bestie instead of paul for a while which had paul FUMING. john & stuart lived together for a while & in mclennon lore john was in love with him (& I do also think that lmao). which brings us to
HAMBURG. in 1960 the beatles went to hamburg & stayed several months in the world's dingiest room. they shared bunk beds & stayed up all night playing music & took pills (prellies) to stay the fuck awake. stuart went with as their bassist & paul hated him soooo bad so bad. in part bc stu did not take the band very seriously & was not good at playing and paul is a notorious perfectionist. fun hamburg facts! here stuart met astrid, his future fiance. and she took them to a gay bar lmao. also, at one point, in the most heinous and toxic move, john walked in on paul fucking a girl and lost it. he cut up her clothes with a pair of scissors and then started stabbing the wardrobe 💀 normal behavior. the whole thing was just drugs and sex and music. great fic setting always.
eventually they got back. george was deported first bc he was underage & then paul and the drummer lit a fucking condom on fire where they were staying and got deported too. john stayed an extra bit & when he got back didn't tell anyone. in the meantime, stu stayed in germany w astrid and paul Got A Job at his dad's insistence bc they all thought the band was over when john didn't show back up. but eventually he did. and made paul pick between the job and the band...... or rather, his dad and john. and paul picked john.
Some Months Later john took paul to paris for his 21st birthday. 200000000000 fics about this. all legendary all gay.
stu died </3
there's barely any fics of the touring days which is tragic I think there should be 60000. I guess the only thing that comes up semi often from that era is that they played lovers in a play, pyramus & thisbe, and paul named two kittens pyramus & thisbe. and gave pyramus (the character he played) to john. not joking at all.
next biggest Canon McLennon Event everyone brings up is lsd. george & john got into lsd first & ringo tried it as well. paul was extremely reluctant to and this caused a bit of a rift between him and john. eventually though, they did trip together and the first night is McLennon Fic Lore. john accidentally dropped acid in the studio (smth he avoided) & was out of it. almost jumped off the roof. paul took him back to his home (cavendish) & took lsd with him. there's a lot to this trip I can't even summarize but it was gay and there's lots of fics abt this incident
was Not the first time paul took lsd though which brings us to the Next Big Tropey Players: tara browne and robert fraser. both are men paul hung around in 1967 and there's looots of fics where he was gay w them and john is Seething
india! I'm not an india truther so I don't really get into these but the fandom at large thinks Something Happened during the beatles' 1968 trip to india. this usually takes the form of john confessing to paul and them fucking and then paul turning him down. background lore for many many breakup fics
and that's the stuff that tends to come up Most Often. there's so much lore I could probably write an entire novel & a lot of it gets referenced but these are some of the biggest players lmao

Recently I have read your story "Foundation of the Empire" and I absolutely loved Zahira! Unlike Dheginsea, she seems to be an approachable person lol
I hope it's not rude of me to ask but do you have any more lore/headcanons about her and her tribe? If you do I would be delighted to hear about them!🤍🤍
Oh! Uh, thank you! <3 I'm very glad you enjoyed the story and her, and I don't think it's rude at all, thank you for asking so politely (and I actually need to edit that story to fix a few details).
Anyway! Everything about her could be (very) generously described as extrapolation from the games, but is basically all made up. No canon material follows the cut.
Since Almedha and Kurth get their dark teal hair color from their father, she has long wavy black hair and dark eyes. She's a black dragon too, but in the art with Ashunera there seems to be a Zunanma that is draconic in nature, and it seems to have a green/blue shade (though it could be just the lighting and my copeium).
Tumblr media
So I imagine that there were more types of laguz outside of Tellius than what we saw in the games (I also add in owls to throw in a fourth bird laguz. And perhaps more! That's just all I've got). In particular, I imagine that there were blue dragons in Hatari before the flood, and so Zahira is part blue dragon (like Ena is a red dragon, but has a lighter color scheme because of her white dragon heritage so Zahira had a more midnight/navy color to her). Not enough to effect her children with Dheginsea much visually. She had a younger brother who died in the Flood. I imagine that the blue dragons were known for their intellect over their strength, and it was a blue dragon leading Hatari long before the Flood who first ended the laguz slavery of beorc that Nasir alludes to in Path of Radiance.
I kinda sometimes like to imagine a prequel game, or maybe a few "gaiden" chapters in the Tellius duology that you could unlock, about the war between Ashera's champions and Yune's forces. In that vein, I imagine Zahira served Ashunera before the Flood and when Ashera seeks to destroy Yune, Zahira serves as the last stand for Yune. Zahira doesn't want the conflict, in fact it's very clear that she's distraught about how things have gone, but she's very powerful and she can't let a piece of her precious goddess be destroyed. In a way, she feared either half being the one left standing and losing the spark that made Ashunera so special, as what Yune alludes as what happened to Ashera.
Zahira could be like the Camus, I guess, trying more to force the conflict into a draw than killing unnecessarily, fighting against her own chaotic bloodlust (especially fighting for Yune). Altina is moved by her devotion and spares Zahira when they finally defeat her, and Zahira is relieved when Lehran and Altina convince Ashera not to destroy Yune. It takes a good long while for Dheginsea and Zahira to fall in love (Rajaion isn't born for like at least another 400 years at my best estimates, so they are like mountains growing into each other and evening out their worst characteristics), but she goes to Goldoa to help him with the other dragons to keep them from fighting the other laguz or beorc left standing. She is heartbroken at the significant loss of life, she saw the beautiful large world with her goddess and now it's almost all gone because there was always conflict.
In the end, while she's more personable than Dheginsea, she's so desperate to ensure a world in which Ashunera can come back that she has the same sort of problem in that she hesitates to want to take action in case in causes conflict and more unnecessary death (thus creating more conflict and unnecessary death). Seeing the way her beloved goddess fell, destroyed most of the world, and split in two in grief over war affected™ her. Possibly also feeling like maybe she chose the wrong side and led to a larger loss of life than if she had made the "correct" decision from the start. She's just more open about how much she empathizes with the people outside of Goldoa suffering, which would probably be more frustrating to deal with as she's not doing a lot to make things better at the same time. Soan writes to her because trying to get anything out of Dheginsea is like trying to get blood out of a stone at that time, but he's pretty frustrated with her also doing next to nothing despite her sympathetic words. In essence, she's what the writers of Radiant Dawn tried to convince us Elincia was like (I still do not buy it). If she was around to have a character arc, it would be learning to trust fully in her own convictions again.
Also, Dheginsea mentions seeing her when he dies, so she's obviously dead before the games. Ena's parents also are dead, which is why Nasir feels so responsible for her. Since laguz don't get sick, illness is out. Given Kurthnaga's fear of blood, I imagine there was a conflict of some scale within Goldoa that Kurthnaga saw that traumatized him. At some point in the timeline, there's a point when Begnion is basically fighting every other nation. Dheginsea calls for a truce and has the treaty signed in Goldoa, but doesn't seem to leverage that to end laguz slavery, as slavery continues for nearly another 150 years. If there was any time for there to be conflict in Goldoa, maybe outrage over seeing what was actually going on because there's no way a peace negotiation is held in Goldoa without the Goldoan citizens finding out about that war (assuming the issue of laguz slavery was kept out of the general knowledge of the citizens of Goldoa), I think it would be at that point in time. Ena's parents and Zahira die in this conflict, and Nasir feels responsible for not being able to help save Ena's parents somehow.
Yune says she doesn't bless her forces like Ashera did during the war, so Zahira is left more mortal than Dheginsea. I imagine she dies in front of Kurthnaga, who is very young at the time. It feels a bit too big a thing to happen in the history without every being talked about, but it's what I'm thinking right now. With the way laguz are, I imagine it would have been a smaller, more direct coup than what Ludveck attempts against Elincia in Radiant Dawn so, while bloody, it is over quickly. Dheginsea is the strongest, and still rules. Since he's already lost her over their shared desire to avoid conflict, he double downs on the feeling, where I think at that time she is gearing up more towards trying to make a few waves seeing that things being left as is was only making things worse.
If Zahira is alive closer to when the games happen, she would have gone with Rajaion to rescue Almedha and her grandchild from Ashnard. Seeing Almedha lose her powers and having a Branded child, and wanting to comfort her child, Zahira would have told Almedha the truth about the Branded and would have fought tooth and nail for both Almedha and Almedha's son to be treated fairly, consequences be damned, it's too close to her heart. She loves her children fiercely, perhaps even obsessively, and teaches them to treat all laguz and beorc fairly. She might also be the reason Goldoa backed the founding of Gallia, as that is a thing that happened that seems out of character for Dheginsea in a "maybe there can be peace if they all live separately from each other" kind of way (though Dheghinsea also could have decided that on his own. It just doesn't feel like him from what we see of him. Could also have been Rajaion/Almedha being young, rash, and bold). She absolutely would have adored Ike, especially given how protective he is of her grandson. If she was alive in Radiant Dawn, then she would side with Ike and Micaiah, but would neither attack nor be attacked by Dheginsea, Lehran, or Ashera. She would be more motivated by her desire to preserve life than bow to an incomplete goddess in that instance. The joy she would have talking to Nailah and hearing about what Hatari achieved after the Flood would restore her youth.
In the end, she was sad messy woman for a sad messy world. Thanks for the ask, and hope you found it interesting at the very least!

I just came across this wonderful ask game by @selfshipdorito and thought on giving it a shot! Please check the original post, as I have removed one of the questions, I just didn't have an answer for it lol.
♥︎Self ship ask game!!Undertale edition.
👥 - is there a character from their source who isn't/wasn't originally an f/o but that has lore connections to your s/i? in other words, a (potential) f/o for lore reasons?
Papyrus I guess, since Sans and him have a really strong bound I just came to the conclusion he would become my lil bro as well.
⏳ - do you have several timelines in your selfship? if so, describe them. alternatively, do you imagine your selfship in different stages of the relationship?
Yes!! I definitely prefeer the timeline the barrier is broken, I love those cute little mundane things, like going to the market or to the park w my boy. But there's also the one Frisk never got out of the underground and we all just live hapilly there, going to Grillby's every now and then, hanging out in Waterfall and things like that :) and as much as I want to talk ab the genocide timeline, I think it's too angsty to put here
Also, I love to think about us as an old couple! Yeah, I know Sans technically doesn't age, but for me he does, idk, something in him changes. I love to think about when Frisk is an adult and comes to visit, Paps being a police officer, MTT being a global star, UGH I LOVE ALL OF THEM.
📖 - what is your s/i's backstory? how does it make them meet your f/o(s)?
(Idk if I should talk in first person, I will anyways lol) welp, my mom was a monster and my dad fell down on the Underground, they fell in love and there comes me!
Ofc me and my boy met at middle school, just two nerds who chatted about school subjects and movies, we'd always hang out after school and I'd be always at his place. Past forward, on high school, we finally realized we had a thing for each other, and now we're here!
💭 - are you more of a "has everything written down" self shipper or a "what happens in my daydreams STAYS in my daydreams" self shipper?
What happens in my daydreams stays in my daydreams, but don't get me wrong, I love writing ab it, I'm just too lazy lol
💌 - any major changes in your selfship lore over time? if so, compare how it used to be with how it's now.
Oh boy! My s/i's lore used to be so wierd, I'd fall down as a teen and Sans would have found me hiding around alleys in Snowdyn (??) Just didn't make any sense at all, so I changed it all for the better lol.
❤️ - any favourite reoccurring scenario?
Just coming home to them all, Frisk drawing on the kitchen counter while Paps makes spaghetti and Sans' sleeping on the couch. As I said, I LOVE mundane scenarios.
🗃️ - alternatively, do you have tons of s/i lore or just wing it on the spot?
I like to keep it simple, yk? As to not get confused w the canon lore
⚔️ - au time! pick an au of your ship that you have thoughts for and talk about it. if you can't decide, pick it randomly.
OH. MY. GOD. YES!! I don't really know a lot about any of the AUs but I know the basics for underfell, I like to think of my s/i extremely badass to the underfell lore, just constantly hanging around to make sure Sans' okay and to force Papyrus to take it a little bit easier on him.
🎫 - free pass! tell a fun self ship lore fact or just talk about anything of it that comes to mind.
Fun fact/headcanon: Sans' just a wonderful dad to Frisk! He's ready to put on a princess costume if Frisk ever ask him to play w them, and he's also more than ready to throw hands with a kid or an adult that messes w Frisk! I love their dynamic so much.

Smothered and Covered, 1, 3, 5 , 9, 11, 14? This fic lives rent-free in my brain btw, thank you for writing it!
<grinch smile> thank you nonnie!!
Smothered and Covered
or: Boba was all shiny-soft under her hands, with dark eyes that stared past her into the next parsec. Far less innocence than most, yet the theft of his clawed harder at her shame. But one crude kindness deserved another. (Explicit, Boba/Ahsoka, cw: underage)
1: What inspired you to write the fic this way?
A combination of factors.
This fanart, for starters. An anon who likened Aurra Sing to a trashy aunt. The persistent itch to write a grimy Bobasoka one-night-stand. All were catalysed by the bitter angst of the TCW S7 finale. It needed to be lanced and purged, but I couldn’t bring myself to touch Rexsoka directly: the grief was still too near. But I was desperate to play in that post-TCW, pre-Rebels void in a way that remained consistent with canon and my own fanon.
Then there was my Banned Bingo card, which had a free space that needed filling. Shipping Ahsoka with anyone but a flower crown will get you death threats in this fandom, but in the interest of being “Totally Problematic” and really earning that square, I decided to send her to bed with — le gasp! — a teenager who’d just been raped by a parental figure, and let her yearn the entire time for her estranged boyfriend (who happens to be a genetically-modified version of the dude she’s fucking).
This was also right at the time when rumours about Boba appearing season two of The Mandalorian went viral. The old disc horse carousel started up again: Boba is either an overrated, pointless, hollow character not worth the effort the sarlacc took to digest him, or he’s the Biggest Bossest Badass to ever make galactic citizens quake in their boots. I was sick to my back teeth of it. This guy is Schrödinger’s Mandalorian and all people seemed to wanna talk about was whether he earned his inclusion in the OT forty years ago. *yawns* Anyway, social media doesn’t thrive on nuance — but fanfic sure does. I wanted a character study of Boba as I (and a lot of excellent fic writers) understand and appreciate him; I wanted to let him be pissed about his traumatic life and act on it in his own way; I wanted him to be half as enigmatic as he thinks he is, while still being very unpredictable, even to someone who has good reason to know him better than most.
Smothered and Covered is the resultant greasy omelette, with lots of chunky bits, some easier to stomach than others.
3: What's your favorite line of narration?
It was almost too easy, like winning ‘round a sour tusk-cat just knowing where its claws can't reach.
5: What part was hardest to write?
The ending. I’m still not pleased with it. There’s something Extended-Edition RotK about it. Or an essay where you’re super sure you made the point in the body, but that profound, “in conclusion” thought which will earn you top marks eludes you. So you just write a series of semi-profound things and hope that does the job — oh, and throw in a quote a line of dialogue for good measure :p
9: Were there any alternate versions of this fic?
Besides the hundred subtly different endings, the original draft didn’t have IC-8994 making an appearance. The exchange was just of information and bodily fluids. But in a ‘verse where Boba and Ahsoka are on texting terms, any intel that required a face-to-face drop seemed above their current paygrade as characters. Having an inconvenient commando in carbonite, however, gives Boba some plausible badass points and forces him to consider who can call to  help bury a body. And besides, every story is better with whole-ass commandos, even if they’re just deadweight plot devices :)
11: What do you like best about this fic?
The Aurra reveal, by way of her blaster. I was stupidly satisfied with the rhyme it created, and that I got to wield obscure lore like a penknife to the heart.
14: Is there anything you wanted readers to learn from reading this fic?
No one experiences or reacts to trauma in the same way. What one person does to reassure themselves that they still have agency in their life might be anathema to someone else; neither person is wrong. Fanpol/antis’ fetishization and policing of victimhood is fucked up.

So... Did you hear about the new TWEWY game coming out yet?
Oooohhhh boy. Neo. I have heard about Neo, and I’m not happy.
Let me start by saying that Sho Minamimoto is my favorite character. I love him SO much. And every single reason for this lies in his villainy (no matter what a younger, more morality-obsessed me would try to tell you). This is a young rebel who decides he wants to fight God and rule over all dead people in this city. He asserts his dominance by chucking Dadaist trash piles all over the place and going “This is MINE because I put my TRASH here!” He’s an utter slimeball and that’s why he’s ENJOYABLE to me.
I do not see any of this magic being recaptured so long as he has to play nice with the hero team.
Maybe he won’t be redeemed. He could be the Token Evil Teammate – though that still wouldn’t allow him as much freedom and fun as his days of roping angels and the FORBIDDEN type of evil encounter monster into a grand conspiracy. Or he could be a Twist Villain, but let’s be real – modern media is never that obvious about who the twist bad guy is.
(Except No Straight Roads, which understood that a predictable Twist Villain is an effective one. ILSYM NSR. But that studio is considerably smaller than Squenix and can do what it wants, like allowing its voice actors to say a queer ship the fans made is good. Oh, I long for the day when a Squenix developer will actually validate even ONE of our gay ships in FF or KH.)
The other thing is that I only very recently just checked out A New Day’s scenes. Like, a week ago. Remember when I put up that edit of Coco Atarashi x Symonne from Tales of Zestiria? That’s the timeframe to mark. Listen. I grew up on old-school TWEWY on the DS. I never played any of the Remixes. So after seeing enough content of Coco on my dash, I was like “I should actually watch the epilogue that has this cool Reaper who pretends to be cute but isn’t” (an archetype I like a lot these days).
The thing about A New Day is that we live in a post-KHIII world, which kinda affects how I view all of Squenix. A New Day felt like KHIII levels of complication. Not like the “KH is complicated” jokes of old in which it was just long and had lots of continuity so people were like “This is too much to keep track of” (which it wouldn’t have been if they’d packaged the Remix games on the same console from the start, but I digress). As in how in III and the prequel/Daybreak era, Nomura and his crew have started throwing in alternate realities and time travel because they keep getting bored with the plot they’re doing now and want to make it something else. You know what else KHIII did a lot of? Villain redemptions. Vexen, who is even dearer to me than Sho, became not only a hero, but a hero who lost all of his personality. Most fanfics I’ve seen that deal with his redemption at least keep him in character to who Vexen used to be. But canon decided he doesn’t even have a personality anymore, and so you wonder why I’m worried about Sho?
Also to consider: the fact that KHIII insists on tying itself to TWEWY lore. I just want to forget the worst parts of that game, but canon won’t let me, the fandom won’t let me, and I’m SURE Neo won’t let me. Neo is going to remind me that Sora yeeted himself into the sun because one (1) of his friends was important than the entire collective of the other people who love him and it’s probably going to have to do with him running around somewhere.
Or it won’t. After all, there’s no hint of that. There’s also no hint it’s going to resolve the cliffhanger from A New Day. Neku is nowhere to be found, even though Sho was supposed to be his partner. Coco is nowhere to be seen. Sho’s existence and the naming of Hype-Chan are the only proof I have that AND is going to be followed up on at all (BTW, “Tsugumi”? Nothing objectively wrong with it; I’m just so deep in the DanganRonpa hole that I will constantly say “Tsumugi” by accident). And maybe the other stuff’s hidden because the crew is guarding spoilers, but those are all plot threads we very clearly expected as of AND, so there’s nothing to spoil if you cut your footage right. It seems so backward to me that we have to design a whole new crew of characters to take over the story to finish a plot that involves Neku somehow. (Though Nomura is designing them and again, he gets bored with what he’s doing so quickly and wants to move onto the next thing, which means he should really just start making different series or oneshots instead of trying to pack it all into one. TWEWY was best when it was a standalone thing with no worry of series rot.)
It also just feels unfair to me that it has this whole 3D battle system and OG TWEWY just got its 2D system in high-def. Maybe this is because a couple months ago, I was having a chat with a friend about “If you were a game developer, what would you do” and I came up with this whole way to translate the TWEWY UI into the stuff of a fully voice-acted and animated 3D game, and now Neo is halfway there, and obviously the OG could have been translated to this, but it hasn’t been, and you need to understand OG TWEWY in order to get Neo’s plot, so why can’t we streamline them both? REALLY remake OG TWEWY into something that matches its successor? I just love the story and characters of classic TWEWY, and I’d sooner see that all polished up on a new platform and made accessible to a new audience of gamers than just blowing on to a new cast and a plot that I’m really not sure will be good.
But in the end, if Sho Minamimoto is fun, I’ll be happy, and I’m afraid he won’t be. I’m afraid he’ll either go full antihero or be diluted into “evil, but only in his words” by the ball-and-chain of the party around him. Oh, and did I mention I’m gonna be real mad when we eventually have to deal with how Sora fits into this?
I do really, really love Sho’s new coat, though. Like…an insane amount. I might actually reblog fanart of him in that coat if people are drawing it because as much as I am not excited for this game, the costume design is already gorgeous.
