Alpha zero turns one... I turn 40 in 22 days 🎉

Isn’t it ironic that this somehow got into a Dancing Astronaut blog because of Madeon’s tweet about promoting “old” music 😅

Didn’t manage to get any promo when I released it at the time, but being “slept on” is better than a kick in the pants.

This tune was a big shift for my solo material... kinda came about in a weird way too.

I’d had such a rough ride with my bipolar shit, losing out on work, not making ends meet, many years of literal “going through hell” and then I kept going. Kinda managed to put the pieces back together, although they fit different. *Guts the protagonist always keeps me going*

So it was starting from 0, a new era, old me with new hopes. Alpha zero being the AI that masters the game of chess. ♟ Sometimes I felt like I was the machine moving pieces of my life around, other times I was the piece being manipulated by AI. Humans do be that way sometimes. Anyway... it was just a reminder that I am not a machine, that I am very much driven by emotions and that people and circumstances often leave you feeling less than, but you are so much more. More than Alpha Zero, because you have a soul and you’re the most precious machine on the planet. You have flaws, you’re not perfect, you have hopes, you have fears and you create from the very core of your being. That’s the essence I want. No frills. No fuck around, no get along gang, no fickle foes. Just authentic humans.
