You were at a Metallica gig supporting your cousin Cliff

You met a really cute curly haired guy in the crowd, you recognized him as the guitarist for Exodus

He was really bashful but so freaking sweet

The two of you hit if off really well

But you forgot to exchange numbers so you sulked a while and slowly told yourself to move on

Months had passed and you were going over to the Metallimansion to hang out with Cliff and the guys after they had finished recording in New York

Your heart did a somersault when you ran into Kirk

You had been out of the loop and had no idea that he was the new guitarist

The two of you were ridiculous around each other at first

The ease you felt the first night was gone and the two of you would stumble over words and blush at the littlest thing

The others were amused, even Cliff

You both got comfortable around each other and it was known from the start you two liked each other

So the friendship stage was short and quickly started dating

It all felt really natural though

Kirk is the sweetest human being and makes you melt with all the little things he does

One of your favorite things to do with him is go to the comic store with him, he’ll pick some out and you will too, then when you get back to his place you get to lay your head in his lap while he reads the comics aloud to you eee

Like he may be a little bashful in front of others and will only hold your hand

Really he was just STRESSED and didn’t know if he should do something special or just blurt it out, he only got to do the first one once, and he didn’t trust the guys input, you were the first person he wanted to tell

“So I've been thinking about this for a while, and I just didn’t know how to bring it up… I love you.” 

You unintentionally let out a loud sigh of relief 

Kirk just kind of looks at you funny so you quickly respond

“I love you too, sorry I sighed, that was a sigh of relief, I thought you were breaking up with me.” 

“Why would you think that?” Kirk asks as if you have two heads

“You were distant, and mumbly.” You say

“Because I didn’t know what the right way to say I love you was.” 

You laugh sweetly and tell him “Any way you tell me is the right way.” 

He smiles and kisses you deeply

You two are just the cutest thing and everyone ships it!

He’s had to take his gloves off in order to undo the sign, and they’re well into numbness now, stinging faintly when they brush against the warmth of John’s own, their fingers tangling for a second while they transfer the weight of the sign from John to Gale. It’s not that heavy, but enough so that he grunts, is grateful for the hand John places against his lower back even as it makes his face flush. Can feel the heat radiating from the bracing point of contact, John’s fingers spread wide. The blankets slipped some, and when Gale looks down to check John’s reaction he’s got his free hand covering his eyes dutifully. Like a child save for the stature and the mustache and Gale feels choked by sudden fondness. 

It had only been a week, and he’d missed John a bit like a limb.

“You’re being ridiculous,” he says.

“Don’t wanna ruin your big reveal, Buck.” 

“If it falls you’re not going to see it coming.”

“Just shout real loud.” 

It feels a little bit like being unable to breathe, whatever the emotion Gale was feeling. It feels like summer and mist and like the warm hand on his lower back.

so in stars and time got a discount for anniversary. and so i bought it. and then played it for 12 hours straight. and oh. My god. so i feel like making a silly post abt it

first of all. mirabelle being aroace came out of the blue but the SCREAM i screamed when she started talking about it. i feel like we never get any romance repulsed characters in media really and i love that there was a side quest that allowed that aspect of her to be shown off And it still related to her main struggle. phenomenal character writing ough. and siffrin asexual too <33

also i adore odile but i did not expect her side quest to hit the second hardest. “i am other” might be one of the single most banger lines ive ever heard. i love her character but that made her so much better. this game might be one of the few where i actually felt connected in important ways to All of the party members

i only got to act 3 so far (i did the full friendship loop, probably i need to yap at loop a lot which i have been neglecting) but siffrin also had many moments where i was like. Oh. that’s. that’s me. with a very notable one being the plant room when everyone made a conscious effort not to touch him like. eee

last thing but i also really relate to siffrin feelings-wise, as someone with a dissociative disorder. i don’t really know how to put it into words well but sometimes i feel like i’m looping too. like every week is the same and i mess it up a different way each time, and everyone around me is just saying lines in their own little scene that i’m not in. and the memory thing too, my adhd combined with that often make me think things happened that didn’t, or i forget really important things a lot of the time and can’t even remember enough to retrace my steps or leave clues for myself. i don’t know but that feeling is a lot of why i was lowkey glued to this game until 3:30 AM yesterday.

Hello! Could you perhaps write something platonic for Wukong Mk and Macaque figuring out that the reader is in a time loop?

(Oo I love time loops eee so I didn't know if you wanted them together or separate so I did separate)

Wukong

He could feel like something was wrong like an itch under his skin that he couldn't get rid of.

When he went to visit you by surprise you just looked dejected and he was worried.

Before he even asked his question you have him the answer not metaphorically either you knew what he was going to ask.

Immediately he asks what's wrong.

And expecting nothing to change and was going to wait for the time loop to happen again you started venting to him explaining everything how much you tried to get out of the loop but nothing worked or changed.

He is no stranger to time loops they are a simple concept to gods and immortas.

But he wondered how you didn't come to him in the other time loops since he did know how to help.

Turns out in a panic spiral you brushed past him in his visits and rushed off, normally he would pick fun at you for this but he'll wait at least a week before poking at that.

He will be able to get you out of this loop easy peasy.

Macaque

He found out really quick, it only took three loops to happen for him to portal himself to your place where you wake up every loop.

Told you that he knows and asked what you did before the loop.

Did you anger a god? Touched an ancient relic? Piss off a sorcerer? Read a book and after you read it out loud the ink disappears?

Whatever the answer is he is in a rush to get you out before you go insane.

He knows a lot of people and demons it's a quick blackmail and a favor to find out how to get you out.

Might get himself paranoid that you fell back into the loop and he wouldn't know so for a few days he'd check up on you.

By that he would listen to where you were and teleport on the roof nearby to physically check on you without you spotting him.

Will end up doing some research on time loops just to ensure something like this won't happen again.

Mk

Now unfortunately it takes a lot of loops to happen for you to break and spill everything as soon as you wake up with him chilling in your room.

Mk watches a lot of shows and movies he knows what a time loop is, sorta.

So not even questioning you he is in a rush to figure out how to get you out of this because you both are on the clock before the loop happens and he forgets.

At first we would run to Tang but after an hour of nothing he rushes you both off to keep going at this point he awakes his true delivery boy zone.

It takes a bit before he remembers, he has a mentor who's "all knowing" of course the monkey king will know what to do!

So he grabs you and starts speeding his way to flower fruit mountain crashing into Wukong's home and shushing his own mentor to quickly explain everything.

The Monkey king is at least understanding of the rush and goes to help you out.

After all that though you both had a little laugh of relief after you confirmed the loop has ended, Mk giving you a big hug and made a codeword in case this ever happened to either of you the codeword being "loopdeloop."

Probably will avoid shows or movies about time loops especially when your around since it gives him cold sweats.

he hasn't really been on a “date” before per se, he's been on some outings with people that were interested in him (not that he realised that fact) but he's mostly been too busy with his idol work to think about it.

then you came along.

Mika’s a bit of a romantic, perhaps Shu’s rubbing off on him in that regard, so you can expect him to do everything in his power to impress you! no matter where you go or what you do, he puts on his nicest clothes and does his hair a little fancy for once and once you get there he hands you a rose he picked up on the way to make sure it was as fresh as possible for you!

he’s terrified of setting something up only for you to hate it when you get there, so like Shu he’d opt to discuss it before hand — probably via text, he’s not sure he could keep his head if it was a phone call… asking you out was hard enough (if you weren’t the one that asked him out), so talking in such explicit terms about going on a date with the person he likes may just be his end.

after a lengthy discussion and about a hundred suggestions from both of you, you settle on going for a walk underneath the stars! fun, inexpensive and gives you both plenty of time to get to know each other.

if you want to hold hands, you’re going to have to make the first move — he’s too nervous to do something so bold on a first date. just smile at him sweetly as you take his hand in your own and he’s yours. his hands are a little sweaty because he’s nervous, bless him, but he won’t let go of you for the rest of the night.

Mika hangs off your every word; he asks you about all your favourite things, your hobbies, the book you read last week or the film you went to go see the other day — hey, maybe you could go to the cinema together sometime! he’s a little hesitant to talk about himself when you ask because he doesn’t find himself to be very interesting, but once you get him talking you’ve got a real yapper on your hands. he has a lot of interesting anecdotes from his time in Valkyrie and he’ll recount each and every one if it means you keep looking at him until sunrise.

of course, as it is night time you have to can it somewhere, so once you’ve successfully looped back around on the footpath to the starting point of your date, you both take it as a sign to get home before the sun beats you to your beds.

Mika stumbles back to his dorm with a goofy grin plastered on his face, giggling to himself every time he recalls the way you smiled at him sweetly and the little jokes you exchanged. Ritsu knew where he was going so he doesn’t ask, but he takes it the date went well and goes back to sleep as Mika slips into his own bed and contemplates some ideas for your next date.

Encore Et Encore: Act 1, Chapter 1: Terminal Velocity

Full Game Spoilers for In Stars And Time, including Twohats!

Siffrin walked. In what direction, he couldn't tell. All around him was lightless, he could've been walking inside out for all he knew. 

Oddly, the lightlessness of the void around him didn't seem to translate to himself. He looked down and was able to see himself as if he were in…

He struggled to find the right mental analogy. A sunny field? That worked well enough. Regardless, the point was he was brightly lit in shades of darkless.

Wait, why was he thinking about the color of his robe or whatever?? Where was he right now? He racked his brain, trying to think of the last thing he remembered.

Right. He died. Come to think of it, he knew this place was familiar. Back when he was in the loops, he always hovered here for a moment before looping back. But this.. this death was different. What was it? He was with his family, he remembered that much.

...Oh.

Old age, huh...? He was surprised he'd died before Odile… looking back on it, the loops definitely played a part in that… Welp. Not a bad way to go out, surrounded by your family, after living a long happy life.

What to do now, though? Was he just meant to wander this void forever? Stars, this wasn't going to be fun.

✦: "You could say that again, stardust~"

...Huh?

✦: "The one and only~"

The voice snickered, as if what they said was a joke.

Siffrin whipped their head around, and who else do they see standing in the void but Loop, holding open their arms in a welcoming gesture. Loop was here?? He guessed that made sense, they were both Siffrin after all. Seems eternity in the void wouldn't be so ba-

He cut himself off. To his surprise, he had jumped into Loop's arms to give a hug, that they returned. Something was wet on his cheek, that checks out, he was crying, after all.

✧: "Oh, Loop, you don't even know how much I've missed you!"

✦: "Heh, you're giving me a pretty good idea of it at least, stardust~!"

He pulled back and wiped his eye, still sniffling.

✧: "Where are we...? Is this where you went after you disappeared?? Oh stars, I'm so sorry-"

✦: "Ah-ah-ah, none of that now~! I believe there's someone else who wants to talk with you."

☄: "SO GLAD YOU COULD JOIN US, SIFFRIN."

A voice spoke loudly in Siffrin's head, as if his own brain was a speaker. From the look on Loop's face, seems they heard It too.

They both turned to where Loop was standing in front of. There was a figure Siffrin hadn’t noticed before. …or maybe It didn’t want to be noticed before. 

The figure was… large. Or maybe they were very close up? Siffrin couldn't tell. They wore a long cloak, not unlike his own, but instead of the simple darkless of his, the figure’s cloak was like that of a galaxy, constantly swirling and moving around their lower body, with stars and lights occasionally twinkling among the…. colors. 

The colors? Right, he remembered seeing one of those “colors” when he turned on his friends all those years ago. But these… these were different. Unlike the near death experience met with confusion like last time, this time he immediately understood them. The blues, the greens, the yellows, all of it woven within the tapestry. Woven within the figure Itself. 

Looking up to where the figure’s head would be, what sat atop the shoulders was… an abyss. An abyss with a singular eye dead set in the center. A lightless orb with pure light swirling around to resemble a long hat, and shaggy hair. It looked familiar.

It looked like him.

Something about that made Siffrin finally realize that he looked the exact same as he did back during the loops. Not old anymore, looking as young and dumb as he did when that rock first crushed him. 

He started to panic. Was he gonna go back again?? He couldn’t, HE COULDN’T!!

He felt two hands on his shoulders. Looking up, he saw that one belonged to Loop.

✦: “Stardust, look at me, it's ok..! You aren't going back…” The look in their eyes seemed to tell otherwise.

The other hand belonged to the figure. One of Its hands held his shoulder in an attempt to comfort him. It helped a bit.

☄: “MY APOLOGIES FOR THE CONFUSION.”

It spoke in Its booming voice, unaffected by any laws of physics. Siffrin had a feeling It’d sound the same no matter where he was in this void. The figure put all 3 of Its hands to Its chest, they floated aloft, not attached to any limbs, and none of them seemed to be right-handed or left-handed, somewhere in between.

☄: “ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF. IN A WAY YOU CAN UNDERSTAND.”

One hand gestured to Siffrin.

☄: “YOU ARE THE TRAVELER.”

One hand gestured to Loop.

☄: “THEY ARE THE STAR.”

The final gestured to Itself.

☄: “I AM THE UNIVERSE.”

Siffrin stepped back hearing that, and Loop did the same to match. This being... that looked like him... was the universe?? Loop didn't seem nearly as surprised.

☄: “PLEASE, STEP FORWARD. I WISH TO DISCUSS WITH YOU.”

Both Loop and Siffrin stepped forward again. Loop didn’t look happy.

The Universe 

spoke.

☄: “THE LOOPS. A TRAGIC CONSISTENCY, NO? OUR OWN INSECURITIES HAVE DAMNED US TO ADVENTURE.”

Siffrin looked up at the figure, confused. It paused, then held Its hands up.

☄: “I SEE. LET ME SHOW YOU.”

All three hands snapped their fingers, and Siffrin saw as the void around them showed… versions of himself. Some with slightly different clothes, some with slightly different party members, some with their own versions of Loop, some without, all trapped within their own loops.

Crushing. Crying. Slipping. Slicing. Choking. Freezing. Losing.

Dying.

Siffrin’s face turned to one of horror. A face The Universe seemed to have memorized all too well. 

☄: “I WAS THE FIRST, YOU KNOW. THE FIRST TO GO THROUGH ALL OF THIS. MY MISTAKES CAUSED A RIPPLE EFFECT UPON THOUSANDS, MILLIONS, BILLIONS OF SIFFRINS. IT IS A CURSE TO BEAR. BUT IT IS MY RESPONSIBILITY TO ASSIST EACH AND EVERY ONE OF THEM.”

What...? The Universe Itself was one of you too...? Then why...

✧: "Why even put us through the loops?? Why torment us like this???"

☄: “...THINK OF IT LIKE SO.”

☄: “IT IS THE NATURE OF THE GAME.”

☄: “WIN ONCE, AND TIME SHALL FLOW AGAIN.”

☄: “YOU WILL NOT START YOUR QUEST ANEW.”

☄: “YOUR BODY FREE FROM SCARS.”

☄: “YOUR MIND HEAVY WITH THEM.”

☄: “THE ONLY WISE ONE IN A WORLD FULL OF FOOLS.”

☄: “MANY HAVE MISUNDERSTOOD THIS MESSAGE. TO MEAN THEY MUST BEAT THE KING. I CANNOT BLAME THEM FOR THE CONFUSION. BUT AS YOU KNOW, THE KING WAS NEVER A FACTOR.”

☄: “WHEN PLAYING A GAME, THE GOAL IS TO WIN. BUT IT IS THE GOAL THAT IS IMPORTANT, NOT THE WINNING. TO WIN IS TO OPEN ONESELF TO YOUR FAMILY.”

☄: “THE UNFORTUNATE PART IS OUR EQUAL STUBBORNNESS.”

Siffrin looked around, wide-eyed at all the other versions of themself, eventually meeting eyes with Loop, who looked away uncomfortably.

✧: “...Aren’t there any that have escaped besides me and Loop?”

The Universe snapped their fingers again, cutting the ethereal ‘footage’ to be replaced with an equal amount of different siffrins, living different lives, but all are happy with their family. The ones that got away.

☄: “THERE AN EQUAL AMOUNT OF SIFFRINS THAT HAVE ESCAPED THEMSELVES AS THERE ARE ONES CHASING THEMSELVES. THOSE ESCAPED, THOSE TRAPPED, ALL TRAILING OFF TO INFINITY. SOME OF THE FREE ONES ARE WITH THEIR LOVED ONES, SOME ARE DEAD, AND HAVE HAD THIS CONVERSATION WITH ME BEFORE.”

Loop felt Siffrin’s heart sink in their collective chest as he spoke.

✧: “B-but why tell us all of this?? Why make it feel like we can’t escape??”

The Universe

was silent

for a moment.

☄: “YOU MISUNDERSTAND. THIS IS NOT MEANT TO DISCOURAGE YOU. THIS IS MEANT TO TELL YOU WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW. BEFORE YOU MAKE YOUR CHOICE.”

✧: “My choice…?” Siffrin spoke in confusion.

✦: “His choice…??” Loop parroted the statement.

☄: “NO, THIS IS A CHOICE FOR THE BOTH OF YOU TO MAKE, INDIVIDUALLY. YOU CAN PART WAYS HERE, OR YOU CAN CHOSE TOGETHER.”

The Universe held out two objects in two hands, with Its third at Its chest.

One object was an orb shaped star, sparkling in Its grip.

The other was a crystal ball, displaying…

The Island. It was populated by various different Siffrins and Loops all wandering and waving at each other like a community. The land was rich and colorful, oh Stars above, it was all coming back to him now. 

☄: “I SHALL STATE THIS PLAINLY.”

☄: “YOU CAN CHOOSE TO START AGAIN, ASSISTING ANOTHER SIFFRIN IN THEIR JOURNEY BEFORE MEETING ME HERE AGAIN TO CHOOSE ONCE MORE.”

☄: “OR YOU CAN CHOOSE TO QUIT THE CYCLE, LEAVING YOUR LIFE BEHIND AND JOINING THE FREED IN THEIR PARADISE.”

Siffrin felt a tug on his throat, he resisted the urge to start bawling. 

Loop took a moment before kneeling down to get on eye level.

✦: "Stardust. It's gonna be ok. Breathe with me." They both breathed in, and out.

✦: "I'll be with you no matter what, ok?" Despite the lack of a mouth, Siffrin could tell Loop was smiling reassuringly.

After a moment, Siffrin pulled back, looking up at The Universe.

And reached out his hand.

POGI Run, P Nya PB Tapi Mules

Sejak harga tiket event lari meningkat cukup signifikan tanpa diikuti kenaikan hasil job yang cukup, mendaftarkan diri ke salah satunya agak perlu mikir sedikit lebih panjang wkwk, yah namanya juga income terbatas. Tahun 2023, saya mendaftarkan diri mengikuti Mandiri Jogja Marathon melalui jalur Early Bird dengan harga sekitar 300 ribu untuk kategori Full Marathon, ya sebuah harga yang bahkan untuk saat ini belum tentu mampu memulangkan satu tiket half marathon bahkan 10k jika acaranya cukup ternama. Inflasi itu nyata (atau oportunis? atau bahkan cek ombak tapi eh lha kok laku? wallahu a'lam, isi racepacknya sama aja tergantung sponsor dan water stationnya standar road biasa).

POGI Run pertama kali liat harganya, "waiki tejangkau". Terlebih diadakan oleh dunia kedokteran, "wah lumayan ni staff staff pada kumpul, kesempatan emas buat tebar muka daftar spesialis". Ya, walaupun sebenarnya saya kurang tertarik dengan obsgyn karena merasa sebaiknya perempuan saja yang menjadi dokter khusus ranah perempuan, kayak bidan, semua perempuan. Tapi kan ya siapa tau, membantu untuk masuk ke ksm lainnya. "Akhirnya bisa tebar muka ga leh?". Oh ya jelas bisa, tebar mukanya doang, diliat? ah belum tentu, dinotis? sebaiknya jangan berharap wkwk.

Tapi bukan cuma itu, di kesempatan yang berbahagia ini, saya meniatkan diri untuk memecah PB yang tidak sengaja terpecah saat berlari di desa Cilacap kurang dari 2 tahun yang lalu. Ya, 2 tahun tanpa notifikasi "You just record your personal best of 10K". Yang sehari sebelum race, pas dicoba pake pace perkiraan PB di 5km, eh lha kok ngasngesngos wkwk. Jadi cuma bisa berharap, hari ini, ngasngesngosnya bisa bertahan 2 kali lipat lebih lama dari sebelumnya wkwkk *meme tertawa tapi terluka.

Ya, race dimulai jam 5.45, ya seperti biasa, ada hitung mundur, konfeti, dan... gak berdiri paling depan. Alhasil mari kita terobosss wkwk. Pace? yoi, 3:50 wkwk, langsung memelankan diri walau emang ga kerasa capek dan ngos2an karena secara fisiologis sekitar beberapa detik pertama akan terjadi lonjakan energi yang dihasilkan dari pemecahan atp, ditambah adanya adrenalin yang meluap sehingga tubuh masih terasa fine fine aja.

Km 1 lancar abis mantap, masih ada mas mas yang nyapa "ayo mas bareng" "oke mas, mas target berapa?" "yaa sub 50 mas" "oh tp saya sub 45..." "saya biasanya 5k mas, baru pertama ini ikut 10k" "oh oke..." yang kemudian ditinggal melengos ke depan 5 detik kemudian sambil melambaikan tangan, dalam hati agak, oh mungkin beliau emang punya target 5k yg cepet walaupun 10k nya sub 50, oke. Tapi tiba tiba berbalik posisi di km 3. hehe. Sampai disini nasihatnya, 10k bukanlah 5k dikali 2 nggih teman teman, tapi sebagai motivasi agar semangat dan tahan banting gapapa dianggap kayak gitu.

Km 4, tubuh tiba tiba mulai memutar playlist "suara stridor dan detak jantung kencang loop 30 menit". *suara stridor eee.. huu eee... huu. Baru km ke 4 woi ini wkwk, yang bener aaje. Di titik ini mulai sliweran bisik bisikan syaiton "pelan-pelan enak gasi leh, tek.. tek.., haaa... huuu..., haaa... huuu.., daripada tektektektek hahuhahuhahuhahuek". Tapi terus liat jam, "ehm, yakin lu bang? masi jauh si emang, tapi... yakin lu bang? pelanin dikit aja, masih punya tabungan 8 detik kok". 8 detik? *tertawa tapi terluka(2). Oke siap! sejak saat itu mulai agak memelankan diri kalo mulai kerasa diluar batas wkwk.

Km 6, gak cukup ditemani stridor and heartbeat kencang loop 30 menit, perut mulai memainkan bass mules nya. "heh asem, tadi pagi udah dipaksa malah keluar secukupnya, ternyata sisanya di jalan toh?! hah?! berani lu rut perut!! HEYYA!!". Dengan cerdasnya terfikir "Simpatis ituu Fight and Flight, Parasimpatis itu Rest and Digest. Keduanya bekerja berlawanan. Kalo satu dominan, satunya pasti ditekan. Oh berarti kurang apa? kurang cepat". Dengan sadar, kakipun melangkah sedikit lebih cepat, ditengah sumpah serapah jantung dan paru paru yang mulai kecapean "woe ot.. heeh aak.. huuh.. di.. heeh aam.. ga.. uhhukk, dahlah bro cape".

Rasa mules nya hilang, tapi di km 7, "assalaamu'alaikum ges, dengan mules disini...". uwasem 3 kilo lagi oe! bisa diem ga. Dan terjadilah kembali yang sudah terjadi di paragraf sebelumnya wkwk. Ya, sebuah logika sederhana, "kamu mules pas lari? kaamu beraaarti kuuurang ceeepat sodarakuuh!" wkwk (jangan dianggap serius, lebih baik percaya dengan literatur medis yang terpercaya seperti scopus, pubmed, dsb, ini cuma ya, sedikit pemikiran putus asa ga punya pilihan lain selain menghibur diri, hara maklum)

Di km 7,5 kaget gaada water station. Biasanya ws diletakkan tiap 2,5 km, dan karena kebetulan udah megap megap "dodoku kelip kelip jon, tulung tulung ono monster papat iki" (biar seru coba dicari dulu soundnya ini gimana). Eh lha kok ndak ada ik,"baiklah kalo emang itu caramu, maka caraku..." ya mo gimana lagi, ya lari lah wkwk. *rodok tersiksa. Sampai akhirnya ketemu di km 8. Ah, perasaan ku aja, atau emang WS sesilau ini?

Menjelang finish. "Hee iki jalur e 10 km lebih jon! wes tambah kelap kelip maneh ki dodone" akhirnya timbul "pokoe nek wes 10, sisane raurus meh pie lambate, titik". Makin dekat dengan finish, makin kelip kelip, makin dekat lagi makin kelip kelip, hahuhahuhahuhahuhahuhaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa *tituut suara jam tangan, dan muncul notif "goal achieved". Saat itu juga melambat, seolah udah sampai di garis finish, layaknya pencetak gol dalam pertandingan final liga champion, eh, engga si ini lebih mantap, layaknya setelah hampir 2 tahun tidak pernah ada notif Personal Best 10k (emamg iya), akhirnya Allah izinkan strava ini untuk mengapresiasi dengan memunculkan notif PB 10K nya lagi dengan bangga, stridor, kelip kelip, dan mules.

Sisa setelahnya adalah selebrasi di finish line, self reward dengan duduk, bertemu kenalan-adek tingkat-sliwer run-pakde sony-ibbas jogja, dan mengabadikan momen untuk memberi makan media sosial dan harapannya mampu menggerakkan yang lain untuk mulai bergerak, karena bergerak itu memuaskan.

EEE thank you @l3o-lion !! To answer your question, most of the animations I post on here are tweening, specifically with Live2D.

I like using it for gentle looping animations & backdrops. (Character animations are a whole different beast? I usually only keep them to a couple functions like 'HandMove' or 'HairGoWoosh'" but this is the VTuber-making software so it's totally possible to make more complex characters. )

I made a tutorial for how I animate with L2D below the cut, if you'd like to see the details! :D

This is the file for that Artfight attack. (quick disclaimer for anyone reading out of context: THIS IS NOT MY CHARACTER DESIGN, they belong to Finchstick over on Artfight!)

I drew the image itself in Krita - for this one I tried to go for more of a fuzzy, painterly style because I wanted to make it look like a muppet. L2D can handle fuzzy textures and gradients without too much trouble most of the time which is something I really like about animating with it.

So! Each different moving piece has to be its own layer. Naming and organizing them into folders helps a lot once I export it into L2D. The finished image needs to be saved as a .PSD file.

After it's done, I'll open the .PSD file in L2D and it'll look something like this:

Once the file is open I find the moving pieces of my character and select them. (I also lock the static layers before doing anything )

Once I have my piece selected, I open the automatic mesh generator ( located above the image, to the left ) and automatic mesh it.

(Keep the mesh generator window open and select / apply mesh to each moving object.)

______ D E F O R M E R S _______

Once the pieces have a mesh on them I apply warp deformers for each part. (I try to apply the deformer for each body part to the largest piece making up that part. For example, the part being used for the head deformer here is the upper part of the head.)

Each part of the face also gets a deformer - each eye, the mouth, etc - and those get shoved into the parent "head" warp deformer.

The deformers allow for parts of the face to move with the head, but they also allow for you to set more parameters per part and make your model look more dynamic. (There's a 3 parameter limit in the free version but if I need to make another parameter work I'll just brute force it and make a 'head deformer deformer' etc)

_____ P A R A M E T E R S ______

Once the deformers are set up, I start setting the parameters.

The program opens with these default parameters which are all intended for rigging a face, you can make your own custom parameters at the bottom of the window.

As for the green dots here, they represent points of extremes on the parameter! You can change what these are by moving the slider over the green dot, and moving the mesh on the selected object.

This can be a bit tedious, but it's fun to watch the model look more alive the more parameters you finish.

______ A N I M A T I N G _______

After I save my model as a .CMO3 file I open a new animation file in L2D, and drag and drop the .CMO3 into the window.

The model shows up much larger than the window. You can resize the window in the bottom left, (third and fourth fields from the top,) and shrink the model to fit inside.

(The free version has a limitation on how big your image can be in order to be exported. It usually takes me a bit of trial and error to get the right size for the image.)

The window below your image shows your tracks. You can have multiple models per animation, I usually just use one. The purple track represents the model while the orange represents the duration of the animation.

With that out of the way, it's time to set the keyframes! Under the purple model track there's a green drop-down window called 'Live2D Parameters'. Here, you can adjust your parameters in order to move your model to the right position.

(In order to make a looping animation, you can copy all parameter values in the first keyframe by left RIGHT clicking the dot on the green Parameters track, and then paste them to the last rendered keyframe.)

I adjust the parameters and keyframes until I feel satisfied with the result. Once I'm done, I just go to File > Export Image/Video > GIF animation or Video.

I make sure my image is sized correctly, and save! And that's about it. ( For this specific animation I also put some effects over it in Clipchamp. )

Hed Kandi: Disco Kandi 2000 House / Garage House / Nu-Disco

Good God, what a terrific pair of discs here from the ever-consistent dance comp label Hed Kandi. With this first ever installment in their Disco Kandi series, the UK outfit supplies a steady stream of ephemeral house bangers from the late 90s and 2000, with a lot of the selections sounding contemporary, but also managing to channel an invigorating old-school disco spirit too. And many of these glitz-glammy, high-quality productions also collectively continue to progress from the sonic tradition that first started in famed New York DJ Larry Levan's Paradise Garage nightclub in the late 70s, where he nurtured a more vocally soulful and R&B-rooted house sound into the late 80s that would come to be known simply as 'garage.' And after the Paradise Garage's closure, that garage sound would find popularity at a club in New Jersey called Zanzibar too, where Tony Humphries would continue to spin it.

Now, despite a few of these tracks having somewhat remarkably high YouTube play counts, all of them were and still are definitely underground; that is, except for one. And this particular tune that I'm referring to wasn't just mainstream, but it really managed to lace the hell out of a lot of US contemporary hit radio stations back in the late 90s, even though it only ended up peaking at #52 on the Billboard Hot 100, overall. Basically, if you tuned into your local pop or more dance-oriented station on anything close to a regular basis back then, there's almost no way that you could've avoided one-off supertrio Stars on 54's cover of Gordon Lightfoot's 1970 soft folk-rock classic, "If You Could Read My Mind," which saw Amber, Jocelyn Enriquez, and Ultra Naté teaming up to record a song for the soundtrack to the disco period flick, 54. Really classic radio gold right there that a lot of people probably haven't thought about in a long while.

And then just as you're finished reminiscing on whatever fond memories you might hold that are associated with that particular song, quite possibly the most impressive track of all within this two-disc set ends up directly following it: the Matthew Roberts and Richard Fite remix of Eclipse's "Makes Me Love You." This one has a big, sun-shining pool party vibe to it, as it combines lustrous disco strings, funkily plucked guitar, a fuzzy-thick corrugated bassline, and piano keys, all while employing a lovely filter technique, which is that really popular thing that house musicians got to doing around this time period, in which certain elements sound distant and submerged, and as they continuously loop, keep sounding closer and clearer, until they satisfyingly breach the surface and hit their glorious peak. And that's maybe my favorite type of house music in the whole world 😊.

So, a really enjoyable way to spend over two and a half hours here, with a hefty dose of  super sleek house tunes, a lot of which are on a nu-disco and garage tip. And it was collected by the always seemingly on point Hed Kandi label too, which has never steered me wrong before!
