!!!! PI AND NEO!

alright let's start with Pi. lovingly nicknamed "the mirror god" by me, this guy survived my actual assassination attempt in-game, where I forced him to lower his stats via the mirror to the minimum and then sent him to work with wellcheers with very low success as a joke, expecting him to die. he survived and came back with their gift. incredible.

in-universe, Pi is the captain of Control. he's very skilled at beating people up, which makes him a very valuable member of the team! unfortunately, he's cursed with a variety of memory issues from his early days working with the Mirror of Readjustment, causing him to be less than reliable at anything except immediate violence. despite this, he's a sweetheart, and has taken another member of the Control team under his wing: Alyssa. Unbeknownst to Pi, Alyssa has been working here just as long as he has, and isn't in need of Pi's "helpful" advice. He has no idea why she keeps getting mad at him for explaining tricks of the trade.

Also, he won't stop bringing the team WellCheers soda when he thinks they need a pick-me-up (much to Alyssa's dismay when he almost takes a swig of the wrong flavor).

Neo, on the other hand, is just a clerk. He looks suspiciously similar to Pi, but who's taking note of a clerk, anyway? He does his job diligently, and that's enough to fly under the radar. Always in the right place at the right time, Neo seems to have a sixth sense for danger, and knows better than to put himself in harm's way.

Which is weird, because he's always found just a hallway behind Pi. Another clerk swears they saw him editing abnormality notes that Pi mistakenly left lying around, but close inspection of those notes showed only Pi's handwriting, and the information was all accurate, if uncharacteristically specific. Clerk drama, am I right?

alright time to talk about the Control Team

Pi: team Captain who treats the other members like his little siblings. Control Team's muscle. his associated Abnormality is the Mirror of Adjustment. has both long-term and short-term memory issues. he's taken Alyssa under his wing. as the most physically fit in this whole facility, he's left shockingly idle for most of the day, waiting for Abnormalities to breach or an Ordeal to begin. he uses this downtime to chat with other idle coworkers and pick up sodas from WellCheers to hand out to the injured. did he always have that stubble?

Alyssa: affectionally nicknamed "The Intern," Alyssa does all the work nobody else wants to. ignored Abnormality having a meltdown? send Alyssa! new tool Abnormality arrive with zero information? get testing, Alyssa! not enough clerks alive to take care of the busywork? send Alyssa! she's getting more and more frustrated with this treatment, but she's decided the best way to deal with it is to become stronger under Pi's guidance. sometimes mistaken for a clerk by other departments. has her picture messily taped to the wall for chugging 15 doses of Giant Tree Sap in one visit and living to tell the tale. because of this, she's commonly assigned to work with tool Abnormalities, since she has such a lucky track record. she doesn't seem to think it's so lucky, though...

Ryn: originally only hired due to a lack of applicants, Ryn took to the Control Team like a duck to water. while she still has to hide out in an Abnormality's room when an Ordeal occurs, that doesn't mean she isn't of use; just ask the clerks who've had run-ins with the Red Shoes. due to Pi's excessive strength, the task of subduing those with... "altered"... minds falls to her. She always seems to stumble upon the right thing to say. The clerks are particularly fond of her for that.

Mason: The youngest member of the Control Team, Mason has a lot of pressure on him to perform well. Unlike Ryn, he had a rocky start in the team, finding himself right in the middle of multiple disasters during his first week. Thankfully, he made it through, but the experience has left him with an ever-present tremble. Perhaps it's because of this that he was given the only available Pleasure suit, despite having never worked with Porccubus. It certainly seems to have calmed him down. Now, he works with the Nameless Fetus, which he seems to have an odd fondness for. Maybe its cries reminds him of his previous helplessness?

Delta5: A clerk in the Control Team, Delta5's origin is as mysterious as their compulsion to alter their identification badge. Dubbing themselves "Neo," they carry out the tasks given to them with little complaint, under one condition: They do NOT have to walk by the Mirror of Adjustment. Someone really should crack down on these clerks' superstitions...

!! so glad you like the safety team immediately cause it was love at first sight w Mirabelle. she's... complex. and by complex I mean no psychiatrist in LCorp has figured out what exactly they should do with her.

Mirabelle has one main abnormality she works with: Plague Doctor. she is in charge of resolving his temper tantrums meltdowns. she does not like this job. at all. he keeps trying to kiss her and she is NOT interested. her volume control is nonexistent, but that makes it really easy to find her when she's in distress. has a strange obsession with the number twelve? also she sees demons but that's unrelated

Geminiano is her girlfriend! she has matching outfits with Mirabelle and loves her so so much. her duties are more general than Mirabelle's, but her main abnormality to take care of is the Luminous Bracelet. it's... not a hard job. darn thing's broken, anyway. not like she minds! it's kinda pretty. she's also the only person in the facility who understands Mirabelle when she speaks in tongues (italian).

Charlotte is the third member of the girlfriend squad. she keeps her two idiots alive. her main job is... keeping these two alive. so. she's good at that. she also tends to deal with any abnormality that SOMEHOW finds its way into the Safety Team's jurisdiction. secretly, she takes it upon herself to make sure that Geminiano puts the Luminous Bracelet away on time. it's a stressful job, but it means she gets to take care of her girlfriends, so it's not too bad.

Claire's... another clerk. I won't stop making them for fun. they're just on clean-up duty. they do their job but at what cost? absolutely pissed about the smells in this facility though. use a different fucking cleaning product or they swear to god they'll be the next abnormality these guys have to deal with. if the agents ever talked to them they'd probably find a kindred spirit in Archer. anyway they like to hide in secluded areas whenever an alarm goes off and I love them so so much
