so now the globalist want dogs and cats to eat grubs and maggots (to reduce their carbon paw print) , feed agricultural animals the frass (aka bug shite) ... they lament over too much CO2 (plant some damn trees, egits!) and too much heat from global warming (plant some damn trees, egits!)
I had to stop reading this drivel because i was about to blow a gasket (or emit 'too much' CO2) so now I am going outside to look at some trees and beautiful plants that take in CO2 and release Oxygen while I breathe deep and exhale slowly, giving them CO2 ... you know the simple science we all learned in elementary school.

Fic Rec Roundup!
In honor of my going off to college (my posts will be slowing down), and finishing 3 seasons of TXF, I asked y’all what sort of “special post” you wanted me to make. You voted on a roundup of some of my favorite TXF fics, so here it is! Prepare to watch me gush profusely about the phenomenal writers in this fandom.
This will be in chronological order, so first time watchers like me need not fear spoilers:)
I’m not including my own writing here, but you can find it in my masterpost.
Without further ado, let’s get into the fics!
Season 1:
starstruck by @thursdayinspace (General Audiences, 671 words): Set post-Pilot. The title says it all. This is quite possibly the cutest thing I’ve ever read.
Something Bigger Than Us by Mungo_of_Maundery (General Audiences, 721 words): A nice coda to Deep Throat after Scully rescues Mulder from the air base. Internal monologue is great.
humans in nature by @theswisscheeserag (General Audiences, 2,733 words): Mulder and Scully’s conversations post The Jersey Devil. Philosophy mixed with fluff and some laugh-out-loud humor. Perfectly captures the vibe of early MSR.
Still Feeling My Father Ascend by @cecilysass (Teen and Up, 13,073 words): Mulder and Scully share some tender moments post Beyond the Sea. Both of them have a lot of healing to do, for different reasons. Some of my favorite MSR introspection can be found in this fic, and you can tell how much thought and care this author puts into the characterizations. There’s also several excellent funny moments - a true gem of a fic!
Egit Genius Loci by snow_and_rain (Teen and Up, 21,937 words): Case fic set right after Beyond the Sea. Featuring early-onset MSR, angst, mutual pining, and hurt/comfort. A little whimsical, a little eerie, a little sad.
Between Two Truths by @agent-troi (Teen and Up, 1,621 words): Missing scene from E.B.E after Scully’s speech to Mulder. An excellent internal monologue from Mulder’s POV followed by some top-tier MSR banter.
the progression (and regression) of first names by skuls (Teen and Up, 5,421 words): A series of vignettes exploring Scully and Mulder’s relationship as it evolves throughout Season 1. Pitch-perfect Scully characterization and several moments that really showcase her inner conflict fantastically, but also many wonderfully tender MSR scenes (keep an eye out for the coffee scene - my favorite!)
never learned to read your mind by @swinging-stars-from-satellites (General Audiences, 1,071 words): An alternate version of Season 1 where Scully leaves after Deep Throat. Profound, heartwarming, wistful and a bit sad, this takes an interesting concept and really tugs at your heartstrings.
Season 2:
distractions by @thursdayinspace (General Audiences, 1,181 words): Post-abduction. Mulder does his best to help. Absolutely heart-melting, sweet and tender and a little sad too.
The Safety of Guilt by the_status_clo (Teen and Up, 732 words): Mulder’s guilt post-abduction. Do you like to feel miserable? Do you like to slip into a pit of unwavering guilt and wallow in beautiful words? Read this!
Redial by @theswisscheeserag (Teen and Up, 7,423 words): A frequent reread of mine! Set during Mulder and Scully’s quarantine post-Firewalker and told through a series of phone calls. This fic has everything you could possibly want: introspection, angst, fluff, humor, friendship and romance all mixed into one…it’s just really good in 1000 different ways. Endlessly rereadable.
until it heals by @actual-changeling (Teen and Up, 2,351 words): A post-Irresistible fic that captures all of the poetry, panic, and drama that is Season 2 MSR. Incredibly tender with some stunning inner monologue moments. A perfect coda to my favorite episode.
Authority and Gravity by Xecotcovach (Teen and Up, 2,338 words): Another excellent fic where Scully (with Mulder’s help) tries to deal with some of her season 2 trauma. Their dynamic here is very tender and their banter is just the right amount of sassy and quippy. Set after Fresh Bones.
If You’re Sinking, I Will Jump Right Over by SammyLovesASOIAF (Teen and Up, 1,642 words): An alternate version of End Game where things go…badly-but then Mulder has to confront his emotions! An interesting alternative, angst with a happy ending. Lovely poetic language; I have some lines from this that I remember word-for-word.
Our Town by @leiascully (Teen and Up, 813 words): Scully’s thoughts during and after the climax of Our Town. Very in-character, appropriately intense, really conveys the fear and desperation intertwined with Season 2 MSR.
Season 3:
Light in Dark Places by @agent-troi (Teen and Up, 2,697 words): Set in Season 3 but it’s really about Irresistible and Scully’s insecurities in general. Peak hurt/comfort, this one makes your heart hurt in the best possible way, and then it feels like a warm hug with the resolution.
Got You(r) Back by @shearmouth (Teen and Up, 4,933 words): This is THE injury fic for me. Set post-731. The hurt/comfort levels in here are unmatched. Scully’s internal monologue is perfect. Mulder is an actual puppy and Scully takes care of him and it makes my heart melt in all of the right ways.
stay close, listen by @actual-changeling (Teen and Up, 2,667 words): Post Pusher. Very angsty, but in the best possible way and with an extremely satisfying resolution. This fic definitely wins best-written: it’s essentially poetry, and its uses of metaphor and literary references are stunning. I can’t recommend this enough.
find me defenseless by @impulsive-astrophile (Mature, 7,421 words): Case fic! Do you like Mulder torture? Do you like badass Scully? If so, you will love this fic because it has both in spades (plus-spoilers-a wonderful ending to make up for the pain). Whenever I’m fed up with the show’s kidnapping ratio, I read this: it’s probably my most frequent reread. I will say that it is more violent than anything I’ve written, so be aware.
Unconfirmed timing but spoiler-free:
unravelling by @actual-changeling (General Audiences, 2,208 words): Scully wakes up to a familiar voice theorizing on her television. What follows is as sweet and humorous as it is charged and just a little tragic.
Shakespirited by orphan_account (Teen and Up, 13,670 words): A fic that I’m pretty sure was written specifically for me. Mulder and Scully go undercover in a Shakespeare troupe plagued by strange murders. If you like TXF and are a Shakespeare nerd, you will love this. Definition of a good time (but there’s some angst too-how could there not be?) I think there are some minor spoilers in here, but nothing to really tell you anything as long as you’ve seen up to Anasazi.
Sometimes You Need to Have Fun by @baronessblixen (Teen and Up, 1,192 words): Fluff written by the queen of fluff herself! Mulder and Scully go ice skating. It’s as adorable and sappy as it sounds.
Stupid Cupid by @mulderwearingglasses (General Audiences, 5,325 words): A Valentine’s Day fic! This features jealous Scully (a delight) as well as some excellent humor and fluff. Overall just a lovely time. There may be some minor spoilers in here, but nothing that told me anything.

What If Twilight had a normal protag?
A/n: I also posted this on wattpad
Overview: In which y/n take on the role of Bella Swan but she doesn't act like a bloody egit.
Warnings: None, hinted Bella slander, I don't think gender is specified..maybe one sentence that readers to the reader as a girl? I spelt Jacob's name wrong on purpose
You'd never given much thought as to how you’d die, but dying in the place of someone you loved always seemed like the dumbest way to go.
Cause what do you look like taking an L as big as that for some raggedy mofo who you’re not sure would do the same for you? Even so, you don’t regret your decision to leave home. Sure, you’d miss Phoenix and your loving, erratic, and sometimes overbearing mother but she and her husband wanna travel; it’s been a while since you’ve spent time with your dad. You’ve been spending two weeks with him every summer since your parents divorced so moving in with him won’t be that big of an adjustment.
Your dad, Charlie, is the chief of police. He picked you up in a police car which was strange for you since you used to shout ACAB at them whenever they’d drive by. The drive was mostly pleasant with brief periods of comfortable silence between conversations. You enthusiastically filled your dad in on your life and he quietly listened, only speaking to ask a few questions or to let you know he was listening.
“Your hair’s longer.” He spoke.
“I cut it since the last time I saw you though”
“Oh. Guess it grew out again.” He said awkwardly
You could tell how embarrassed he was, so you started rambling about all the unique styles and colors you wanted your hair to be and how your mom never allowed you to do them.
The two of you pulled up the driveway and made your way into the house.
“I cleared off some shelves for you,” Your Dad said.
“Oh, thanks dad,” you replied with a small smile.
See, if you were whiny and ungrateful, you’d complain that there is one bathroom, but you had redeeming qualities, so you didn’t.
You stepped into your bedroom that looked just the way you left it last summer. It resembled your room at your mom’s with a few different details.
Your dad made his way downstairs and shortly after you heard a honk. You peered out your window and saw some familiar faces, so you made your way downstairs to say hi.
Your dad re-introduced you to Billy Black and Jackob then went ahead to fake a fight with Mr. Black, leaving you to get re-acquainted with Jacob. You couldn’t help but smile for the brief time the two of you talked. He was literally so cute.
Your dad made his way over to you and Jacob and asked what you thought about the old trick he was leaning against.
“This is mine!?” you asked with the most realistic smile you could muster. In truth, the truck was the ugliest fucking thing you’d ever seen. It looked older than you and the color was atrocious.
“I totally rebuilt the engine for you,” Jacob said as you ran your hands over it and lied about how perfect it was.
“I told you she’d love it! I’m down with the cool kids brah.” You heard Mr. Black say.
‘Be so fucking for real’ you thought to yourself as you entered the truck.
Jackob showed you the little tricks needed to get it started and you offered him a ride to school. Pulling up in this old piece of metal alone seems like the most embarrassing first day ever.
“Oh. I go to school on the reservation.”
You just smiled and slightly nodded in response. You’re actually going to drive to school in this old thing by yourself.
You quickly ran inside to shower and change since you just sat through a four-hour flight; then you made your way to school.
Tumblr media
You can picture this outfit if you want.
As you parked your tired excuse of a car you noticed all the kids giggling and pointing at it.
“Nice ride.” Some kid said.
“Thanks.” You replied while side-eying him and making your way to the school building.
“Hi! You must be the new girl, y/n l/n. I’m Eric. The eyes and ears of this place. Anything you need? Tour guide, lunch date, shoulder to cry on?"
“Oh, uh hi, yeah. I’ll take you up on the tour guide offer. I’m not tryna look like a goofy ass Freshman.”
“Totally, totally. And the lunch date bit?”
“I don’t know about the date part but if you don’t mind, I'd like to sit with you at lunch. Sitting by myself is just gonna be too depressing.”
“Hey, I'll take what I can get.” He said, with an ear-to-ear smile that made his slanted eyes look closed. “I can see it now, ‘Woman with a Plan: New Girl’ that’s gonna be a sick title.
“Title for what?”
“Your feature. You’re front page, baby.”
“Mm, I don’t know about that. I mean I literally just walked through the doors.”
“Okay, cool, no feature.”
Gym sucked. You didn’t have Eric with you, and you hit some kid named Mike in the head with a ball which summoned a passive-aggressive girl named Jessica who obviously had a thing for Mike.
A/N: this is a silly goofy idea that came to mind. If it's received well I'll write more so please like and comment to lmk if I should keep writing

Byron and Shelley chronicle their 1816 sailing trip in Lake Geneva — Day 2, June 24th —
Percy Shelley, History of a Six Weeks' Tour:
“The next morning we passed Yvoire, a scattered village with an ancient castle, whose houses are interspersed with trees, and which stands at a little distance from Nerni, on the promontory which bounds a deep bay, some miles in extent. So soon as we arrived at this promontory, the lake began to assume an aspect of wilder magnificence. The mountains of Savoy, whose summits were bright with snow, descended in broken slopes to the lake: on high, the rocks were dark with pine forests, which become deeper and more immense, until the ice and snow mingle with the points of naked rock that pierce the blue air; but below, groves of walnut, chesnut, and oak, with openings of lawny fields, attested the milder climate.
As soon as we had passed the opposite promontory, we saw the river Drance, which descends from between a chasm in the mountains, and makes a plain near the lake, intersected by its divided streams. Thousands of besolets, beautiful water-birds, like sea-gulls, but smaller, with purple on their backs, take their station on the shallows, where its waters mingle with the lake. As we approached Evian, the mountains descended more precipitously to the lake, and masses of intermingled wood and rock overhung its shining spire.
We arrived at this town about seven o'clock, after a day which involved more rapid changes of atmosphere than I ever recollect to have observed before. The morning was cold and wet; then an easterly wind, and the clouds hard and high; then thunder showers, and wind shifting to every quarter; then a warm blast from the south, and summer clouds hanging over the peaks, with bright blue sky between. About half an hour after we had arrived at Evian, a few flashes of lightning came from a dark cloud, directly over head, and continued after the cloud had dispersed. ‘Diespiter, per pura tonantes egit equos:’ a phenomenon which certainly had no influence on me, corresponding with that which it produced on Horace.
The appearance of the inhabitants of Evian is more wretched, diseased and poor, than I ever recollect to have seen. The contrast indeed between the subjects of the King of Sardinia and the citizens of the independent republics of Switzerland, affords a powerful illustration of the blighting mischiefs of despotism, within the space of a few miles. They have mineral waters here, eaux savonneuses, they call them. In the evening we had some difficulty about our passports, but so soon as the syndic heard my companion's rank and name, he apologized for the circumstance. The inn was good. During our voyage, on the distant height of a hill, covered with pine-forests, we saw a ruined castle, which reminded me of those on the Rhine.”
Lord Byron in a letter to Hobhouse:
"Evian—June 23d. 1816
“At the present writing I am on my way on a water-tour round the Lake Leman — and am thus far proceeded in a pretty open boat which I bought & navigate — it is an English one & was brought lately from Bordeaux — I am on shore for the Night — and have just had a row with the Syndic of this town who wanted my passports which I left at Diodati not thinking they would be wanted except in grand route — but it seems this is Savoy and the dominion of his Cagliari Majesty whom we saw at his own Opera — in his own city — in 1809 — however by dint of references to Geneva — & other corroborations — together with being in a very ill humour — Truth has prevailed — wonderful to relate they actually take one's word for a fact - although it is credible and indubitable. — Tomorrow we go to Meillerai - & Clarens - & Vevey - with Rousseau in hand - to see his scenery - according to his delineation in his Heloise now before me. - The views have hitherto been very fine - but I should conceive less so than those of the remainder of the lake.”

UPDATE: I took my dates from Shelley, but his dates must have been confused and Byron's must be more accurate. Because I'd been confused by Byron's dates in the past, since he often wrote past midnight (thus often referring his prior day as "today"), I had assumed Shelley was more trustworthy. According to Shelley and His Circle vol. 4 pp. 700-701, they left on June 22nd which was a Saturday, and so I believe each day of their trip would be one earlier than I and Shelley stated in these posts.
Taken from Shelley and His Circle:

Building Dango: Part 4
We're so far in and still have so fucking much to do. I am fearing I may not have this guy made in time. Which I'll have to stomach through clenched teeth.
We're moving on to priming. And I'll be using Flexbond for this. I previously used a spray version, which fucking stinks. (If any of you guys remember the making of my kenku fursuit then you remember the horrors of gassing my family.)
Tumblr media
This is odourless and I can slap quite thick bits of it on there.
It's water based and kinda smells like PVA glue (suspicious...) but honestly it worked wonders. I was hoping it would cover up the majority of roughness and imperfections, and with three coats, it did mostly that! Kudos to my friend for pointing me in the direction of this substance.
It took about 3-4 hours to dry on each coat, and I could safely do it inside. Unfortunately there are paintbrush streaks. But I can stomach that.
Tumblr media
In between waiting for the coats to dry, I got to work on the eyes. I'm using this mesh as the base. It's nice and thick, does have a bend to it, and has fantastic view through the many holes in it. And since it's already black, I only need to paint the pupil. Though I have also painted a set of eyes for a friend that were fully painted and they looked fine too. Poking any clogged up holes IS a chore though, so to make sure there's as little of that as possible, you gotta water down your acrylic paint and slowly work your way up with coats. I haven't tried dried brushing it, mainly because that method is quite messy, and watered down colour worked better for me.
Tumblr media
However, this didn't go without a tragedy. While trying to get the paint to dry faster, I often use a hairbrush. But. Well I was holding the mesh up in the air and drying it. And I guess I held the hairbrush too close and it bent the metal just enough to make dents from where my fingers held it. And. Unfortunately. Begudgingly. I could not restore the mesh back. So I had to paint the second eye all over again. So if you're drying with a hairbrush- do so on a flat surface.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
For the JAW.
And here's where I start to realise I'm doing this backwards.
For the Jaw I will be using chicago screws. Originally I was going to use this hinge I got off etsy from a polish maker:
Tumblr media
But Dango's head is already quite. Tight. And these would add another centimeter on each side of the head and there's just not enough space for that- nor do I think they would fit actually....
SO HERE WE ARE: CHICAGO SCREWS.
Tumblr media
Chicago screws are originally used for leather work, and come in various sizes. The main body of the screw is sleek, so the jaw can freely move around on the middle part, while the actual tube is hollow with end being the 'screw' part. This screw part will be inside the jaw so I can freely unscrew it if I ever need to. While two pieces of my high density foam are about 2cm in thickness when smooshed together, I opted for 17mm thick screws instead. Which meant I head to drill holes, then indents into those holes, to make sure the screws fit in.
I did this because A: the flat part of the screw is going to poke through to the outer layer of the skull that will not have fabric covering it. It needs to be flush with the skull so that its not as easily seen. I made it sink into the foam by another 1-2mm so I could then cover it in sculpting foam and then.... prime it again. Like an egit. Anyway. And B: I didn't want the screws to poke me into my cheeks. Even though they're flat, Id rather drill into the foam and have it flush against it then poke out and be texture hell yanno?
Always test the drill bits on scraps though before you commit to the real deal! It took me a while to get the hang of the actual drill bit of my rotary carver, but in the end I was confident in actually drilling the mask.
Tumblr media
ISN'T THIS CLEAN. God I'm so proud of it.
Tumblr media
So I was drilling again after priming shit. I should've done this before the priming stage. But tbf they only arrived in the mail after I primed so. Whatever. (spoiler: this isnt the last time I pull out the fucking carver)
THE JAW IS HINGED.
Tumblr media
And we continue working....

Magnus ignis Londinii vastus est! In meo regno, Londinium in periculo, Ut hic rex egit quod iustus idoneusque, Pugnavit ignem, et probo me melius quam salatator! Ignem-prohibens sum!
Celebratio, aliqui?

Jean Hanelle of Cambrai (c.1380 - c.1436) _ O Sapientia (plainchant) _ O Sapientia incarnata / Nos demoramur [I-Tn MS J.II.9 Biblioteca Nazionale Universitaria, Torino, Italy]
Veni, benigne instrue mentes / fervoris igne redde prudentes / molesque frange usque prementes, / nos tecum iunge diu morantes. //
