Ok so Paul McCartney added verified annotations to some of the songs on Egypt Station and his annotations to I Don’t Know are SO funny to me.

First, he literally gives us nothing and just restates the lyrics.

Him starting the sentence “Yeah so” is very funny here. Also, again, he gives us nothing.

You can tell he wrote this comment first, even though it’s for the third verse/ bridge so it appears last. First, I love how he manages to get a “you know” in there, despite the fact that this is a four sentence annotation on genius.com. Second, his inability to say that he was having a problem without saying “JUST LIKE A NORMAL THING LIKE WHAT HAPPENS TO NORMAL PEOPLE IT WASN’T SERIOUS” is so funny to me. He can’t just say he was going through a difficult period without qualification. It’s very amusing.

At 41:36 he starts singing Blackbird. He messes it up twice. Twice he bounces back in the most endearing way possible. (I know this song, I wrote it!) Also, I love that he still goes out and does this song, just him and a guitar, even though his voice is admittedly (perfectly understandably) not what it used to be. I love him so much I could cry.

P.S. I love Egypt Station, I'm not sure we talk about it enough

I feel like Confidante is a song that people don’t talk about much, but “unlike my other so-called friends / you stood beside me as I fought” is quite a line. I’m just imagining Ringo getting a copy of Egypt Station and hearing that. And Paul doesn’t really shy away from that when he talks about it in The Lyrics:

“At the time I thought, ‘Oh, people are going to think this is about the breakup of The Beatles. About my guitar standing beside me when my bandmates didn’t.’ And I suppose at the back of my mind that was true, and sort of what I was thinking.”

Fifty years later, he’s still bitter enough to be dwelling on that and calling them his so-called friends. That’s some hurt that runs deep, and I always wonder how much of it he ever actually expressed to John and George. In his shoes, I can’t say I’d be eager to express vulnerability to people who seemed to delight in tearing into me in public. The unfortunate part is that without addressing it, the wounds never really heal.

Today is the birthday of Sir Paul McCartney, one of my favourite people.

The greatest songwriter of all, a left hander and I think he was in a band too.

In fact you get the feeling that a day doesn’t go by where McCartney doesn’t come up with a neat little lyric or a nice little tune.

There are few people who have touched as many lives as Paul.

Dragon master -  a movie star at tournament

And this is my drawing at the same theme. Movie star of action movies are invited to make a new movie. About them – intertime competition about fighting. In a scenario it is written that it will be a ancient China, Egypt. And a space ship. As you arrived, you were attacked by some fighters. It seems, that they do not take into account, that it is only a movie. And decorations are very natural.

As soon as your helicopter landed – so you have just notice you are in an unbelievable decoration. Ancient China. Asia. Something like that. And you are under attack all the time with some ninja and kung fu fighters. Maybe, it is made for more natural camera recording. But this was not in a scenario. Effect of unexpected action. As it can be.

There was a scroll at the floor. It was a papyrus. You can read it. It is written something strange.

You are invited to a tournament, which is going every 50 years. Tournament about to a name master dragon. Go to a temple of a dragon and defeat master. Later explore sands and pyramid and defeat pharaoh. And next at the space station have a fight with alien cyborgs. And you will become a master dragon. At the space station it will be resurrection point in case of you lose. And you will be sent back to your world.
