Currently reading: nothing specific at the moment, just different fanfics, haha. My sister really wants me to start reading one of her favorite series, but I can't ever seem to dredge up the willpower to do it.

Last movie you watched: The whole way through? The Mario movie. I've seen bits and pieces of others since then whenever my mom's watching one, but not the whole thing.

Tattoos: None. At most, I've done those fake paper ones that used to come with packs of gum, but nothing permanent. Don't really plan to, either.

Glasses? Contacts?: Both. Since middle school. Used to hate glasses, but now I love them. Only thing I don't like is the poor vision that comes with it, haha. Contacts are for work or trips to places like theme parks where I'm afraid they'll fall off on a ride or something.

Last drink: Water. If we're talking alcoholic...I don't even remember. I'm not a big drinker.

Last thing I ate: Pizza for dinner. And breakfast since I was too lazy to make anything.

Crush on anyone?: No one that's real, lol, and my fictional "crushes" are said more as a joke more than anything. Am I opposed to the idea of romance and being in a relationship? Not at all, but I'm not gonna go out of my way to find one or stress out about it either. If it happens, it happens, and if not, that's cool too.

Favorite fictional characters: Now these I have a lot of. Yusuke Urameshi, Yagami Taichi, Gary Oak, Roronoa Zoro (although I love all the strawhats really), Michelangelo (though again, I love pretty much all the ninja turtles), Knuckles, Tails, Professor Layton, Donald Duck, Sora, Cloud Strife, Vincent Valentine, Zack Fair, Maes Hughes (and most of the FMAB cast), Luigi, and many more. These are just some of the first ones that come to mind, but it would take too long if I did all of them, lol.

Here it is, the mighty team request! So I'm looking for a team match-up, with at least 3 and up to 6 Pokémon.

I am deadly afraid of most bug types, especially fast ones. Also, I have hay fever, so any Pokémon that has to do with pollen is… not going to be for me. Oh, and I'm super sensitive to the sun and heat in general! I live in a relatively big house on the edge of a village, with lots of garden-space. The house has three floors, with the lowest being underground, which is also where the bedrooms are located. The climate is very basic, honestly. The winters don't get super cold and the summers don't get super hot.

I'd say I have a decent amount of experience with Pokémon? I grew up around orchards and small bodies of water, so you can imagine the amount of wild Pokémon I interacted with. I've grown up around dog-like Pokémon too! My Pokémon would be companions slash performers, like in contests. They should definitely not shy away from the spotlight, but I also crave cuddling sessions from time to time. One that's big enough to make me feel protected would definitely be cool!

I tend to have a bit of a temper, which is something I've been trying to work on. Emotions just tend to be a lot, both in positive and negative ways, which is also why performing and cuddles are so important to me. On a more positive note, I tend to be good in leading positions and will not hesitate to help my Pokémon out with anything they need! I would definitely call myself ambitious, and I'd like it if my team could keep up with that, but also to calm me back down if I'm about to ask too much of myself once again. I'm not huge on sports, but I'm trying to get better about that, just… any Pokémon that needs a lot of intense physical activity might not be in the right place on my team.

Alright, this request has been waiting for nearly a month (sorry ‘bout that), let’s do this.

So you don’t want any Bug-types, and I’m gonna go ahead and say no Grass or Fire-types either based on what you’ve told me. Space doesn’t sound like it’ll be an issue. Same goes for climate and experience as well. The Pokémon shouldn’t be too high-energy, but also not complete couch potatoes. Sound right so far?

Okay, I’ve thought about it, and I think you should consider adding a Stoutland, a Lycanroc (Dusk Form if you can as they tend to be a pretty happy medium in terms of energy), a Goodra, a Vaporeon, and a Togekiss.

Realistically, any of these Pokémon can do quite well in contests, though there’s no denying that Vaporeon and Togekiss are the most “traditional” contest choices of the bunch. And companionship? Well, that’s not even a question: every single one of these species have been shown to make first-rate companions time and time again (Goodra and Togekiss are especially popular pals for people who have difficulty controlling their emotions.) As for protection, let me ask you this: if you were a burglar, would you go into a house that had a Stoutland and a Lycanroc in it? I know I wouldn’t.

Grooming needs are as follows:

Stoutland: Probably the most high-maintenance of the bunch due to the sheer amount of fur, though they still shouldn’t need to be brushed any more than two or three times a week. Fair warning though, they shed quite a bit during spring and autumn

Vaporeon and Lycanroc: Usually only need weekly or twice-weekly grooming sessions, though you do need to be careful about which products you use if there ever comes a time where you need to bathe them (make sure to use products formulated for Water-types on Vaporeon, and products formulated for Rock-types on Lycanroc)

Togekiss: These guys tend to keep themselves pretty clean, though it’s a good idea to give them a weekly once-over just to be sure. Keep an eye out for overgrooming, as that can be a sign that there’s an issue of some sort

Goodra: Don’t really require any grooming, though make sure they stay hydrated somehow, whether that’s through the occasional spritz from a water bottle, or providing them with their own pool

None of these Pokémon are known to be particularly dangerous though, like all Pokémon, that doesn’t mean they won’t defend themselves if they feel threatened. Lycanroc and, to a somewhat lesser extent, Vaporeon can have noticeable prey drives if caught from the wild, so be sure to keep a close eye on them whenever they’re around smaller Pokémon. Other than that, I can’t think of any major issues.

#36 Scizor

Scizor is one of the few Pokémon I remember obsessing over when I was a kid. He's just oozes cool. His design draws from so many things while being so uniquely Scizor. Even standing out among Pokémon designs themselves. Resembling cars, mechs, insects, power rangers, and everything in between. He really just seems to have it all. Top it off with amazing typing and an awesome shiny! Scyther was already a very cool Pokémon and liked by many from my understanding. So it can be hard to improve on an existing mon. But Scizor did not disappoint. It's so different than Scyther but you can definitely see the family resemblances. Tbh they feel more like cousins than evolutions of one another but so does Onix and Steelix (since they're both metal coat evolutions). But I like the idea of that. Scyther putting on a metal coat and now he's all decked out in this suit of armor and is ready bullet punch his way through. Scyther is a really fun design. Looks kind of dragon like while also having mantis qualities. It really expands on the bug Pokémon. Especially in generation 1. His mega I think is kind of meh... Not bad but definitely not good. Idk maybe it is airing on the worse side of okay then it is good. I honestly think he's cooler as is, so yeah unneeded in my opinion. My biggest problem with Scizor though is that he is a trade evolution. I think he's actually the first so far so I should explain a bit. As a kid with little to no friends to trade with, it was pretty much impossible for me to evolve Pokémon through trading. So most Pokémon that evolve via trade, I never got to really experience or enjoy. For the longest time I didn't even know some of them had an evolution like Kadabra and Machoke. Even beyond that, I just don't like it for the Pokémon world either. It feels weird that these wild creatures would have an evolution method that results from being traded... So without humans, Pokémon like Gengar wouldn't exist. I just don't like the idea of that even if there is a way to explain it. I will say that trade evolution while holding an item are definitely a lot better but honestly I would prefer just using the item and that would be enough. But yeah that's my rant on trade evos. Small things but I like that Scizor seems somewhat competitively viable which is always nice. Its nice to use strong Pokémon. One thing that bothered me when I used mine in Pokémon Violet, her walking animation in the overworld was so awkward. It actually turned me off quite a bit from her. But its a small thing. Only a couple months ago Scizor was riding high in the top 5 spot but he's been struggling through lately. Still there is so much to love about this Pokémon that I can't help but think about him often. Easy top 50.

i think people would like kamado more if the destruction of his village was like actually shown to us in a flashback? i know pokemon tends to not actually show flashbacks instead just let the characters trauma dump to you but i think actually showing the destruction would make people more sympathetic towards him. i don't expect an actual 3d animated cutscene (but it would be super cool!) but some still 2d art that shows what happened would be super effective in making the player understand him more. also making the whole implied dead wife thing not implied but actually said outloud would help

im really interested in the event that led to the destruction of kamado's home and the fact that pla didn't really show us made me brainstorm a hypothetical pla prequel game/dlc that took place like right before and during the destruction of kamado's hometown lol

I do think so too Anon. I realize am pretty dense when it comes to picking up on these things sometimes just because my attention is often all over the place and I find I sometimes just skimmed over dialogue without even meaning to. A cutscene would be much better, both for nailing home just how devastating everything was, and for people actually picking up on it and taking it into consideration when assessing Kamado.

And explicitly expressing what happened to Kamado’s family a little bit more would be helpful as well. I wasn’t even aware he had lost a family the first time playing through (though I blame that on playing while at university, 19 things were always going on simultaneous it seemed!)

I would LOVE a DLC that delves more into this. I cannot remember where I read this, but I think there was a post that showed a dex entry about Gyarados’ behavior, and how it is drawn to war. It led someone to theorize that a Gyarados destroyed Kamado’s village:

And that another entry says it is drawn to wars:

And the post pointed out that Kamado has war armor.

It’s already been said that Kamado and Beni left their town after a maddened pokemon destroyed it, but it wasn’t specified what kind of Pokémon it was. So this post theorized that Kamado and his village were involved in a war that drew a raging Gyarados, which destroyed his village.

On top of fighting a hostile war against another side, that is unimaginable destruction. And If Kamado was highly involved in this war, being involved in something that drew death and destruction to his village and family would have unimaginable guilt and trauma attached to it.

I find it interesting that Laventon also wrote about this event in the dex entry for Gyarados, though. Is he writing about Kamado’s very village and not realizing it? Surely, he would know, right? He does say it is ancient text though.

Either way, DLC with a section that discusses this more, or at least a cutscene would have been very nice to have!!

That would probably be great! I uh, only have a few so far though, I have been heavily procrastinating on the team thing, I technically only first caught a Pokemon a few weeks ago, I got hypnos when I was really young, we've practically been raised together, then there's uncle emmets tenth birthday gift, vitesse, she's a joltik! And the one I caught on my own for the first time is seikan, he's a chinchou! I know I should be focusing on it more but I get worried about what pokemon to even catch and then something catches my eye and it's just way easier to focus on that then catching more pokemon, like did you know about the burned tower in johto? I mean I'm guessing yes but this could be before you learnt I have no idea, I visited before I went looking for celebi and it's so cool! The story behind it is too! And well... I kept getting caught up in things like that, I know dad- ingo is a really strong trainer and I know you are too so it's a bit.... Overwhelming knowing that, I guess? I don't think I'm ever gonna be as strong as either of you though, I mean, hypnos absolutely lives up to his name, he prefers napping to battles, he used to really like them, but he did also used to faint alot, he's gotten way tougher since then too! and vitesse is feisty, maybe too feisty, she tried to battle hypnos once and after she shocked him he used metronome and well... They both had to go the pokemon center after that to say the least, seikan is still getting used to me and the rest of the team, he's a bit more skittish so far. And I'm positive it's Ingo, it'd be pretty hard to mix up a parent who's raised you for years after all, but enough on that- dad was in hisui?! That station is ancient! I've only heard bits on it when we visited sinnoh once, and that wasn't even from you, which was odd, usually you, well you in the future, really like telling stories when we visit somewhere, there's always something new I learn but in sinnoh it didn't happen so much, I just know it's super old, how did dad even end up there? -icarus

I recently tried the demo for Monster Hunter Stories 2. Admittedly I wasn't really a fan of the original on 3ds, but 2 is really good. It's simple yet complex and gorgeous too. The monsters of course look cool as shit but that's a carry over from the MH series anyway.

I can't judge much for story yet except it kind of has that campiness I'd come to expect from pre Switch Pokémon games, but it's handled better imo. Everyone is super expressive and there's some very top notch animation here too, such as a monster trying to juggle an egg bomb or Kayna tormenting the cat guy. Even the MC is expressive and there's a fair bit of customization you can do. Even with its limitations there's a lot you can do with it.

The egg system is a pretty cool concept. You basically go into what I think are randomly generated monster dens (maybe not? Unclear) and raid it for a particular egg, which can have better stats if you push your luck and dig for more with the help of the cat guy. You then take these eggs back to the village to hatch em, although at present you can only do 1 egg st a time.

Combat with the monster in the lead functions in turn based style but you really only control yourself. Each monster has a set strategy they use that they rarely deviate from unless certain criteria are met, these styles being color coded to Red (Power), Blue (Speed), and Green (Green). As far as I'm aware, this triangle really only serves to either synchronize with your monster for a stronger attack, or as a tie breaker when you and an enemy monster fight head to head (Red beats Green, Green beats Blue). There's more to it than that though, with certain monsters being weaker to different weapons you may have (such as a sword, hammer, bow and arrow, etc), certain monsters having shields or parts of their bodies you can break with different weapons, big attacks, riding and kinship attacks, status ailments, cerrain monsters are better against others, you get it. It sounds complex and looks it at first, but in practice it's super simple. There's a bit of trial and error, but I say that's a pretty organic way of hunting and learning weaknesses. At least when you find the weaknesses, it will keep track of it so you don't totally have to remember it. There is also a weapon and armor system that's pretty flexible.

Again, I've only played the demo, but I do love the open sandbox layout. Monsters roam organically and it's a gorgeous sight to behold. There's something slightly off about some models sometimes, but I think it's just because they're the same models from the first game. Not a big deal though because it looks alive and lived in

There's a couple of things that irk me a bit. Dens are kind of repetitive and you're kind of locked into the same monsters at first, and really there is mostly Tactical monsters with very few Power or Speed ones so far. Also it's kind of hard to figure out how to get the monster to sync with you, because sometimes it will happen when you both select the same basic attack type and target the same monster, other times you do the same thing and end up attacking separately. Also I still can't understand why I can't use certain skills when I have enough points for it, so I feel like Kayna and the monsters are dishing out a shit ton of damage and I'm just kind of chipping away at times. One more thing is inconsistent frame rate, which can chug or go full speed at times. It would be lovely if everything was consistent

But is it fun? Absolutely. In the demo alone I got 20 hours of gameplay and probably could have gotten more. I definitely want to invest in the game once finances are better.

But I am doing the best that I can until I can afford to upgrade and make this even better to spread more love wherever I am walking, haha!! And hopefully you will be too, you've just started by spreading a smile around on your face or someone else's..

I don't expect you to buy a crap load of stuff from my store at all, just do what you can when you can.. but you can still be very much involved in this thing if you want. I have a FB store just sitting there that I can make someone a manager of to help me run it and post on my behalf, and you could read all of the info about this movement and then talk about it on social networks if you'd volunteer to do that, getting the word out to as many people as you can. You don't have to have money to join..

You could volunteer to be an operator of my customer service which you can use an app on your phone to have access to it.. I can have as many of those as I want. I have tons of ideas and I am working my ass off learning about business and marketing so that we have the best chances possible to make this happen.. and if you do a kick ass job, I will reward you in clothing that I'll buy occasionally.

Don't just give up on it cause you don't have money to burn, either do I.. I get it, but you could get involved and help do a really good thing in the world. You read my blog cause you believe in love even though it has hurt you in the past or is still hurting you now possibly. I don't know your situation, but I have a feeling that you would love a world where people around you were happy and smiling.

It sounds really beautiful to me, I would adore that on so many levels.. and we can make that happen if we stick together and use our time to spread love everywhere. It's not a hardcore thing like a job, this is my dream.. to make an impact on the world in a good way, hell with that, in a great fuggin' way!! I could use your help if you could give any amount of time.. I will tailor you tasks based on your strengths and weaknesses like a Pokémon, hahaha!! Doesn't anyone else want a better world? If you do then tell me dammit, cause with every single heart that does this with me makes us that much stronger.. everyone probably assumes that this is a get rich scheme, well it is not.. the homeless get 25% of the profits around and near me cause I live in the exact spot where there are more homeless people walking around than there are people who have homes. I see this every day, hundreds of them all day every day and I look them in the eyes respectfully and say something uplifting to them, and even before I quit smoking I'd burn through a pack in 4 hours cause I felt for most of them. I have been homeless in that exact place where they are at now, a few times but I dragged myself out of that fate and now I want to help them.

I priced everything under the suggested retail prices and I make about $3 profit off of each item, but after the credit card processing fees come out at around $1.07, I only make $2 off of each transaction and 25% of that is for the homeless to get some cool clothes that make people smile when they see them on the street.. and I have even devised little plans and experiments for specific shirts that could change the way the homeless and others interact.

I ordered a bunch of stuff to give out and wear and I have some money saved up for ads and little sporadic lottery winners while I'm walking around out there to do some good with my money.

If me, the "I" fuggin' guy that never finishes a thing can dedicate my time for this, then pretty please.. come and make the world a better place with me. I am spending my own money to make this work. Like I said before, you don't have to buy anything to help out.. and you could still very much be involved in it. And I would appreciate the help greatly, I would kiss you all up along your thighs and suck on your neck like a vampire leech, hahaha.. nah, it would totally feel great if some people believed in me but I'm doing it alone if I have to..

We went a shrine called Taizo-In, near the place we were staying at. It the most beautiful place, although I did see a lot of spiders and y'all know how much I hatw Spiders. Regardless of that tho, it was VERY tranquil and peaceful, a refreshment from thr bustle of the cities. But before we toured it, we got the opportunity to experience a practice called Zazen. Which is sitting meditation, it was a very cool experience to be able to meditate in a traditional Buddhist shrine. However, I have bad back posture and holding my back up upright for 15 minutes was very difficult task to say the least. The monk that was leading our session was actually a former student of our 先生, which is cool that there was still a connection with this activity. The monk was telling us about thw intense training one has to endure in order to become a monk, there was this 10-Day thing where I forgot the significance of it but it was really important, but all they monks did was meditate for 10 days straight, no food or water, or even sleep. You think they could get some sleep but when you're meditating, you keep your eyes half-closed, not all the way. This is to prevent your body from losing its posture and to prevent one falling asleep, but when you do get sleepy, there is a big, thick stick that the leading monk will use to smack anybody that is falling asleep. It's really hard too and it sounds like it hurts, but anything for spiritual transcendence I suppose. All in all, my spirituality is not that strong to be a monk, but mad respect to anybody who is.

Afterwards, I went to Nara, which is pretty famous for their deer. They're nice snd gentlr if they're individuals, however I was stampeded by them and they're very aggressive. Something worth mentioning is that your supoosed to bow and then they bow back in order to get their treat. As you can see in the GIF, ain't none of them does or bucks bowed. And yeah, some Japanese we're recording me and yeah, felt kinda embarrassed because the deer plus my ruckus was kinda funny, so whatever. But there is a shrine there, in which we did visit. Got some ice cream, and visited a temple with a HUGE statue of Buddha. The picture I attached does NOT do it justice, it also didn't help that lighting difference was bad, so that's why it's poor quality and a very light Brittany on the bottom lol.

Since Osaka was near Nara, me and my friends went there to visit the final major Pokémon Center in Osaka. We visited the ones in Tokyo and Kyoto, and Osaka's was the last one. So yeah, that was cool. We were kinda lost in Osaka Station and this school girl came to the rescue and helped us get there. SHOULD OF GOTTEN A PICTURE WITH HER AND I REGRET IT. But all, in all, that was pretty fun. After the Pokémon Center, we went to this metal bar, which was pretty cool. Metal music kinda isn't my thing but I don't mind it, the vibe and aesthetic was pretty cool to experience.

Heads up: Probs not gonna go a Do's and Don't's in this post either. I didn't do anything one day so I'm probably gonna give a lot in that one as well as a relfection on my Japan trip so far

LUCY

1. Has never completed a Pokémon game with a grass or water starter. She just doesn’t bond with them as much as she does with the fire starters, and any time she tries to pick a grass or water starter, she inevitably gives up, restarts, and picks the fire starter instead.

2. Since she turned 18, she’s made a point of giving blood as often as possible, because she’s type-O negative (the universal donor), and the Red Cross is pretty much always running short on blood, which can leave a lot of people totally screwed when they need to get transfusions.

3. Doesn’t believe in astrology and dismisses most of things in that vein as a cold-reading scam that’s based on exploiting people’s ability to project themselves onto anything…… but she does have an interest in dream interpretation.

4. She finds recipes confusing, and is even more befuddled by the Food Network and, “how to make [x baked goods]” videos on youtube, to the point that she finds them more stressful than getting a, “We need to talk” text from her parents. And yet, she is not confused by instructions in a chemistry lab.

5. She loves her red hair, but hates being called, “ginger.” It’s not that she thinks the word is offensive or anything; she just thinks that it sounds weird and slightly disgusting.

6. One of her favorite forms of, “teenage rebellion” was watching televangelists (or more accurately, having them on while she did other stuff because it’s really easy for Lucy to tune them out), which Lucy wouldn’t have liked so much if she’d actually paid attention to any of them (because of how televangelists exploit their viewers’ pain and suffering, get rich off of it, and don’t have to pay taxes on most of that money because they call it, “religious donations”) — but it did successfully annoy her very Catholic parents and very Catholic, “he’s a legit priest and everything” uncle.

7. A horror movie can be as political or politically coded as it wants. Unless it does something truly novel with the genre, like Get Out, then Lucy will probably just roll her eyes, complain about how many people value, “edginess” over quality, and then go watch The Great Mouse Detective for the umpteenth time. It’s not even that she gets squicked by horror movies, because she stops at dismissing all of them as edgelord garbage and doesn’t give them a chance.

8. She has even less patience for the films of Christopher Nolan, and literally the only one that she doesn’t go in too hard on is The Dark Knight, which only gets any consideration because Heath Ledger died not that long after making it, in ways that were pretty heavily associated with the movie in popular culture.

Not that she really cares about Heath Ledger, or even about the taboo on speaking ill of the dead, but she figures that he isn’t Ronald Reagan levels of terrible, or worse, so it’s easier to just not get into it with people over Heath Ledger when all that she wanted to say was that The Dark Knight isn’t actually that great

She will, however, talk shit about Ronald Reagan pretty much any time she’s given an opportunity, and especially if her Mom and Dad are around (because they were big Reaganites, back in the day, and annoying them with her hatred of the Gipper keeps them from paying attention to things like how her, “best friend” Sara Grace is actually her girlfriend)

9. Her answer to the question of whether she prefers cats or dogs will probably be something like, “iguanas” because she hates the assumption that it’s not possible to love cats and dogs more or less equally, but she also has better things to argue with people about.

10. She can’t whistle, she’s not really a very good dancer, and the last time she tried to tie a cherry stem in a knot with her tongue, she wound up swallowing it.

ADELAIDE

1. At 5’11”, Addie is taller than her big brother and their Mom (who are both 5’10”), and when standing up as best man when Max and Linda got married, she didn’t try to make him feel short, but she did wear a nice pair of heels and didn’t really go out of her way not to make him feel short, either.

2. By all rights, Addie probably should’ve been diagnosed with ADHD a while ago, but because her childhood and adolescence lasted from about 1986-2000 (when she turned 18), and because in 2017, ADHD is still badly misunderstood and under-diagnosed in AFAB kids, Addie got missed and made it to 33, thinking that all of her ADHD symptoms are just personal quirks or failings.

3. Her favorite color is purple. The darker the shade, the better.

4. Her ability to interpret song lyrics is often questionable. Like, on one hand, she’s totally made the mistake of hearing, “There’s a bathroom on the right” instead of, “There’s a bad moon on the rise” during the chorus of Creedence Clearwater Revival’s “Bad Moon Rising”

—and on the other hand, she completely missed that most of Missy Elliot’s “Work It” is explicitly about cunnilingus until Pete asked her what the Hell she thought the lyric, “Go downtown and eat it like a vulture” was referring to, especially given its proximity to Ms. Elliot talking about shaving her chocha. (All Addie has to say for herself is that she got caught up on the, “Girls, girls, get that cash / If it’s 9 to 5 or shakin’ your ass” verse.)

She also thought that Spice Girls were singing about group sex in “Wannabe,” rather than singing about making sure that your significant other can get along with your gal pals, and she kept thinking this until mid-September 2012.

5. As far as her family knows, Addie almost got arrested on her 18th birthday and had to run from the cops while she and a few friends were kinda drunk and screwing around in New York City. What really happened was that her birthday was on a Saturday, so they signed themselves out of school for the weekend, went to NYC, and saw the revival of Jesus Christ Superstar because her parents bought them tickets.

Then, they used fake ID’s to get some alcohol and got kinda drunk. Then, while they were screwing around in Brooklyn instead of going to cousin Jeremy’s place and crashing for the night, they wound up going by a gay bar, where Addie tripped over her own feet and got caught by a cute butch lesbian who happened to be dressed as a sexy cop for a themed party at said gay bar and had gone outside for a smoke break.

Then, one of Addie’s friends mistook this poor woman for a real cop and insisted that they run, and despite putting it together in the cold, sober light of day that there had been no actual danger, Addie told Sebastian the, “We so totally almost got arrested” story because she thought it sounded cooler, and at this point, it’s been 15 years, and she doesn’t see a point in correcting her family when her younger cousins get the, “Don’t get too rowdy on your 18th birthday or you may end up running from the cops like Adelaide” cautionary tale.

6. She would probably try to play real-world Quidditch, if she could get anyone to play with her, but that’s not going to happen, because everyone who knows her also knows that Addie is competitive as fuck, and that playing “muggle Quidditch” with her is a good way to get at least mildly injured.

7. She can see where the dislike that a lot of people in her life have for the All-Stars comes from, but personally, Addie doesn’t buy into it herself. She doesn’t really care to defend them, either, but at this point, she feels like most of the world’s problems can’t be solved with super-strength or heat vision, and they’re more complicated than the All-Stars’ image would allow them to handle, so it’s best to see the All-Stars as entertainers, rather than actual heroes.

Not that she begrudges anyone their annoyance with the fact that the All-Stars make, “we are actual heroes” a cornerstone of their so-called “brand,” but if you ask Addie, it’s not all that much different from how U.S. politicians lie up one side and down the other about basically everything, and how much of U.S. politics is increasingly little more than a theatre spectacle to cover up what’s actually going on

Oddly enough, Addie is accidentally on to something with that, because a lot of the supervillains in this universe are not truly participating in any shadowy conspiracy…… but they are being manipulated by members of one, and alternately being used as a source of talking points, or as distractions, so that the folks in said shadowy conspiracy (who are a mix of mutants and not) can push through their own agendas and try to secure their own power at the expense of anyone who gets in their way

Not that it’s really here or there at the moment, but this is totally going to bite them in the ass, partly from the people they’ve been exploiting and screwing over for decades putting shit together and pushing back, and partly because they decide to bank on installing a puppet who isn’t as easily controlled or as easily made to serve their agendas as they think. Anyway, as I was saying.

8. If Adelaide hadn’t gone into the family business and started vying with Max to see who’s going to become CEO when their Dad retires, she probably would’ve gone into advertising. If not that, she most likely would’ve gone to law school.

However, despite the fact that her Mom and several of her cousins are lawyers, Addie’s notions about how being a lawyer works are mostly derived from Legally Blonde, Ally McBeal, and Law and Order: SVU, so it might be a good thing that she has no idea what she’d actually want to do at law school.

9. Popular wisdom holds that she only isn’t the worst driver out of her siblings because Sebastian is the one who should’ve racked up multiple DUI charges by now, by all rights shouldn’t have his license anymore, and rarely uses it these days anyway because he, “doesn’t have PTSD, he just doesn’t like driving okay, it kinda freaks him out” (…which it does because of the PTSD that he allegedly doesn’t have but that’s another matter)

Addie holds that this popular wisdom is misogynistic bullshit being passed off as familial teasing, because actually, she’s a much better driver than all three of her brothers (with both cars and motorcycles, though only she and Seb have ever driven one of those, so it’s a little unfair to Max and Ambrose)

—and she may not know how to fix more complicated car problems, but she can at least get a better grasp on what might be wrong than, “I don’t know, it keeps making a thunka thunka thunka sound if you go above 60 mph” and she has more than once fixed something for her brothers that turned out to be something like, “You were driving with the parking brake on, dumb-ass”

10. Her go-to karaoke night songs are Cyndi Lauper’s “Girls Just Wanna Have Fun” and Rick Springfield’s “Jessie’s Girl” — the latter of which would be funnier to Adelaide if she’d intended to sound hella bi when she first started doing it, rather than picking it because she was kinda drunk and knew all the words, then getting really into singing it and having no conscious idea where those emotions were coming from
