Here's my list of NPCs I would have loved to have as companions😭 (and potential romance options🫣🫠😍....pls don't hate me....I love Evka, but I love Antoine more😏). Elgar'nan might be a questionable choice, but I like questionable 🫠. And why did Veil jumper Elio only get like two lines of dialogue?😑

Viago also almost made it onto the list, but I haven't had enough time with him just yet🤷🏻‍♀️. Maybe time for a crow Rook playthrough🤔.

a lot of rook de riva’s time in treviso is spent with jacobus. sometimes they’ll just talk, or rook will help with his training (and commiserate about all the boring parts), or rook will offer to take him on a quest around the city that they’re relatively sure they’ll be able to get him through alive. they seem to be one of the only ones that can get through to him and get him to listen, so they keep showing up for him when they can, keep pushing a little bit at a time.

on one particular day, teia and viago are watching them talk in the cantori diamond. they just came back from a series of scraps with the antaam and are patching themselves up side by side. rook explains to jacobus in a low voice, “you put all your focus into the attack and leave yourself wide open to get hit from behind. when you’re with us, we can cover you, but alone? that’s how you lose a fight, and it won’t be pretty. i know you want to admire your handiwork, but you have to keep your eyes moving. it’s as much about not letting them kill you as it is about killing them. remember, the least interesting threat is the one you’ve already neutralized, at least until the fight is over.” they roll up their sleeve to show off the scars littering one of their arms and raise their eyebrows, adding, “ask me how i know.” that earns a smile from jacobus — not an easy feat to accomplish, and not one his other teachers seem particularly concerned with achieving.

Imagine if there’s this one anthropologist in the Lords of Fortune who just really loves the pirate aesthetic. Frames all their advice as “avoiding curses”. Just constantly doing unnecessary spooky hand gestures and shit.

I'm growing quite fond of the hc that Rook (De Riva) is a bastard child of King Fulgeno.

I think I want to make it my Rook's canon backstory, but I'm still having doubts.

That would make Elio and Viago half-siblings now 🤔

ok so i really really liked the first half of this ep and then unfortunately hated the second half </3 the sound design and elio/nadia's acting was sooooo good and idk the tension was THERE.... and then i think the script just fell the fuck apart as soon as drayden met with varric and the gang. and no solas cameo is insane btw and im saying that from a writer perspective btw not as a fan. like all of the build up about the anomalies and the artifact and the hunt for him and even the comparisons btwn elio/nadia and solas/varric or dare i say even solas/inquisitor lol ..... all of was for nothing ???????? insane !!!!!!!

i mean i get that ultimately dragon age is at its core ALWAYS about the relationships. and elio's death is the true storyline and the conclusion of nadia's arc. im guessing they meant for solas to be little more than the vehicle to tell that story. fine. acceptable. but i dont know. im assuming this artefact will come up in datv and thats why its been left unexplained??? but it seems an odd choice to set elio up as having this super special bloodline and having solas make cryptic af commentary in the first episode about him......... only for him to just Die and those questions raised IN THE PODCAST regarding THE PODCAST PROTAGONISTS not get answered. the whole script just felt.... rushed. idk ! the payoff was so non-existent. and to have spent so much time on that really weird fight scene that was straight up just 3 minutes of yelling/grunting noises ......... i dont know. i expected better since the scene directing/sound design has been PEAK up until that.

ultimately i really dont care that much and i do want to stress that if u agree with me then u should also not care bc at the end of the day it is a Podcast lol. and it wasnt written by the datv writers at all afaik. there are very few actually well-written pieces of dragon age tie-in media out there so i had gone into this expecting it to be kind of mid and ultimately i enjoyed it WAY more than i thought i would . but yeah. not a fan of the last ep i guess ! but thats ok ! as i said <3 at least varric was hot <3

I literally woke up and shot up out of bed to check if my suspicion was true and i was right!!!

So i saw a clip of the butcher Antaam leader from DATV and i was like damn that voice sure does sound pleasing and scary at the same time then it switched to crazed demonic voice mid sentence and i was like damn why is his voice familiar wtf but i couldn't remember so i just went to bed

But then i realized its Elio Andante! From vows and vengeance and lo an behold Armen Taylor did actually voice both

This guy is so insanely talanted he blew us away in vows and vengeance when he voiced a Elio and then switched to a demonic voice mid sentence in the last episode of the podcast i could never forget his voice !

romancing davrin as rook de riva, specifically as a rook whose personality is a lot like teia, is hilarious to me because while no one can compare to viago and the record-breakingly huge stick up his ass, davrin does have a similar kind of serious, intense, no-i’m-not-having-an-emotion-what-are-you-talking-about demeanor on the surface. and i can just imagine teia having a blast watching rook do the same “being such an irresistible nuisance that he has no choice but to give in” routine on davrin that she regularly uses on viago.

i’m also a big fan of a crow rook who’s similar to a younger illario in a lot of ways (including but not limited to having a reputation as everyone’s least favorite crow). not enough that it’s immediately obvious, but enough that after a lot of time spent together, lucanis finds himself naturally treating rook like a little brother and falling into a lot of old patterns of good-natured teasing and getting into trouble from before things got complicated, when it was still him and illario against the world.

specifically, i love putting both of these ideas into one rook. and sure, we could talk about the raging headache that a teia-illario hybrid would give viago, or we could talk about illario seeing that lucanis has (as he would see it) replaced him and that he isn’t even the first choice to play his own role in lucanis’ life anymore. those thoughts are, respectively, hilarious and devastating and i’ll be thinking about them forever. but you know who i really want to talk about?

because oh my god can you imagine the absolute mindfuck of having her home and family saved by a kid who is basically a combination of her least favorite grandchild/personal punching bag and the one person in the world with the power to get away with calling her nonna? and they’re in love with a grey warden?
