Elizane walked into the room and saw the king staring at his desk in contemplation. “What’s on your mind, my love?” she said as she approached him. 

“I spoke to Celia,” he said, keeping his eyes on his desk.” 

Elizane’s heart dropped. “What... did you speak about?” She knew the answer, she knew she had to have this conversation, but she wasn’t sure she was ready for it. She wasn’t sure she would ever be ready for it. 

“She told me about some dreams she’s been having.” 

“And how some of them come to pass…” she finished. 

Elric slowly stood up and looked at her. “Our own daughter has magic, and you knew.” 

“I did; and have for quite some time now.” 

“Why haven’t you told me?” 

“Because she didn’t want me to.” 

“Ellie,” Elric said, stepping closer to her, “Don’t you think this information may be important to me? My name is on the line! The entire kingdom is watching me and this family.” 

“Because I wanted to avoid your reaction. This reaction. She’s been suffering since she was a child. She grew up thinking you would exile her, and I can’t blame her for thinking it.” 

“Magic is evil...” Elric started. 

“Sorcery might not all be bad,” Elizane quickly said before Elric said something he might regret. 

“Magic is the reason our son is gone. Or did you forget?” 

“Of course, I didn’t! But getting angry at anyone who has magic will not bring him back, especially our own daughter.” 

Elric sighed and walked to the window. He looked outside to the garden where Celia was having a conversation with Dorian. Elizane joined him, putting a hand on his shoulder. “All these years, she’s had this ability, and she’s never hurt anyone. I’m only asking you to listen to her; give her a chance.

Nika was born of the Union of the Harvest Prince and the Prince of the Streets, wedded to the Fisher Prince. Inspired by Daenerys Targaryen and being a former Valyrian Stronghold that survived most of the events after of the Doom of Valyria, the city was ruled by three Princes; the Lorathian people use Prince as a genderless title and each prince was elected by the people and for life. However, with time, the magisters, maegis and priests took power and now the positions of Princes is only emblematic. Nika decided to change that. Having ties to the three Prince titles, she set sights on Bitterweed Bay, a former Lorethian settlement. She hired the Hydra mercenary company to help her gain control against the Ibb. After this, Nika gained control of the Ibbish Isles and reclaimed Morath, a mining Lorathian colony and Saath as part of the united realm, creating a sea trading empire, east of Braavos and the Shivering Sea. Braavos supported her efforts as it was better to have all these port trades under one rule than minor ones and pay less taxes when it came to trade. Nika convinced the council of give her extraordinary powers to become the new ruler of the Lorathian Empire, giving the title Kaizina, meaning Empress in the old Lorathian Tongue before the Valyrians came. She made the language more accesible for new settlers and a safe haven for anyone who is fleeing from war in Westeros and other parts of Essos. Nika founded House Elizan of the Elizan Empire. Her full title when introduced is often: Kaizina Nika Elizan of House Elizan of the New Lorath Empire, Queen of the East Shivering Sea. Her coat of arms is a three headed eagle, symbolizing the three Princes, each with a crown and the house words are : three of one make path.

Nika is praised for a safe and rather peaceful transfer of power, from a council ruled state to a monarchy; as well offering the colonies freedom in their harvests, and religions. She herself is a follower of R'hallor. Her coronation took place in Bitterweed Bay after it was reclaimed, inviting such guests as Queen Daenerys Targaryen before she sailed to Westeros and The Hydra Mercenary of Braavos as well Tyroshi, Myroshi and Lyseni Lords.
