About the song thing, I have a lot of weird associations, Not exactly in tasting, but usually in memory or feeling! Its so weird to hear a song from my early years and be able to pinpoint certain emotions from that time - same goes for imagining little AMV’s in my head and revisiting said scenarios when you listen to the song again (this happened to me once when I forgot the name of the song “Somebody’s Baby” by Jackson Browne. I couldnt remember the beat, the lyrics, anything for days on end - all i could remember was the little AMV in my head xp)

Thanks for taking interest in the slideshow idea! The idea was originally supposed to be a joke project between friends, but now I’ve genuinely spent hours conducting research and trying to find the right way to format the presentation. Im more invested than I thought I would be, but George Costanza does that to people I guess. Over the past few months he’s held a captive grasp on me and I love it, he’s so fascinating as a character I love it (lol i should probably find some other george lovers cause he fascinates me to no end). I would love to show it to you if it ever gets completed - its not often that people indulge in my interests, so I’m super touched that you even ask, thank you sm!!

YOUTH N’ MUSIC

I grew up listening to anything and everything. My mother is Dominican so when I was young my mother would always play all the spanish speaking genres such as Salsa, Merengue, Bachata, Reggaeton etc. I was raised in the hood so music was always blasting from most apartments and outside. I couldn't sleep at night when I was a kid because of the music that was blasting almost every night. So I just layed there ... and listened. Outside I'd hear Hip hop songs that were popular at the moment and coming through the right side of my bedroom wall my neighbor would play old school HipHop. My neighbor above my apartment would play R&B and Soul from the 70s, 80s and 90s and the background music from some movies made me fall in love with Classical and Jazz music. I fell in love with Rock when I discovered the Fuse channel. I never liked Country because I haven't given it a fair chance. Hmm, maybe one day. I listen to music from the previous centuries to now. Many different Genres. One moment I could be rapping to Mobb Deep, then singing the doo op with Ella Fitzgerald to feeling like the long lost member of The Smiths when I sing along to "How soon is now". I can't sing but I'm going to sing damn it! Anyway, I'm picky with the music that come out now a days. They all sound similar. They all have the same message. Most music videos have zero originality. I dont even remember these artists' names. I'm not even 30. I get it times change and I'm not hater I'm just ... picky. Pop Smoke said it best, "Some artist I hear their song it's cool or whatever but you ain't a fan of them know what I'm sayin'." Aside from Nipsey Hussle (Rest Peacefully) Pop Smoke was the only new artist that caught my attention. I would hear his music blasting outside my window but I didn't know who it was. I decided to check him out just 10 days before his passing. His death broke my heart because he had that spark and not only in music, but in acting and maybe even more. Shoot for the stars aim for the moon right? Pop Smoke was not a legend, he had potential of becoming one and it breaks my heart that he wasn't able to experience that. People may sound like Pop or imitate his flow but you can never replace Bashar Jackson. He had the Juice. He had that rare flavor for sure. Rest peacefully Bashar "Pop Smoke" Jackson. Hanbin estaba rozando su límite esos días, nunca se había sentido tan sexualmente frustrado como ahora, quizás tenía que ver con que no tenía nada en lo que entretenerse seriamente, dado que YG estaba más centrado en el comeback de Bobby y en MOBB la presión sobre Hanbin había aminorado notablemente, y eso le daba tiempo a su mente a pensar y su mente pensaba en Bobby, en casa, en el gimnasio, en los ensayos, en cualquier lado, en la forma en la que su camiseta suelta de tirantes se agitaba dejando ver piel a cada movimiento, en cómo se apartaba el pelo de la frente y flexionaba los brazos, y de pronto Hanbin sentía la garganta seca y estaba apretando tan fuerte la botella de plástico que había hecho un amasijo retorcido con ella.

Y de nuevo estaban los problemas de la falta de intimidad, no es como si Hanbin no hubiera probado nada, de hecho había probado prácticamente todo y dejado más que patente a Bobby que estaba algo alterado al frotarse contra él a cada ocasión posible, hasta había empezado a llevar encima preservativos pese a lo vergonzoso que le había parecido en otras ocasiones cuando Bobby lo mencionaba, pero como siempre la vida se pasaba interrumpiendo los pequeños momentos de intimidad entre ambos y Hanbin estaba rozando su límite de paciencia y lo supo en el momento en el que por voluntad propia fue al gimnasio a quemar energía porque prácticamente estaba zumbando de necesidad, quizás así terminaba agotado y su mente se despejaba un poco, todos habían vuelto al apartamento y Bobby estaba metido de lleno en sus nuevos tracks. Hanbin accedió a ayudarle pero sabía que no iba a poder en su estado, así que ir al gimnasio era la única opción que tenía para calmar su mente calenturienta y animarse a estar en una habitación con Bobby encerrados donde no podía tocarle. Spoiler: el deporte no funcionó y con toda su vergüenza acabó masturbándose en las duchas agradeciendo infinitamente la hora que era y el hecho de que no quedara casi nadie alrededor para oírle aunque estuviera intentando ser MUY callado al respecto.

Cuando llegó al estudio su pelo aun estaba húmedo y su rostro algo sonrojado aunque intentara aparentar tranquilidad. Abriendo la puerta con calma y dejando caer la bolsa de deporte al suelo antes de cerrarla tras de él con la misma suavidad esperando no molestar mucho a Jiwon que parecía completamente concentrado en lo que estaba haciendo. — Hey ~ ¿Cómo lo llevas? — dijo sentándose en la silla al lado del otro, a una distancia casi inexistente entre la de este, fingiendo que era para ver la pantalla del ordenador pero únicamente era para poder pegarse un poco a él.

Damu The Fudgemunk, Archie Shepp & Raw Poetic-Ocean Bridges (lanzado el 22 de mayo de 2020)

Es el primer álbum de jazz de larga duración lanzado por Damu The Fudgemunk, leyenda del rap underground originario de Washington D.C.; Archie Shepp un saxofonista, tenor y soprano con 19 álbumes en su haber y Raw Poetic, amigo de Damu y leyenda del rap underground, también originario de Washington D.C. que ha colaborado con Damu la mayor parte de su vida como músicos. En este disco de 15 cortes, entre lo que pareciera una entrevista con Archie Shepp y a su vez, una plática entre tres amigos acerca de la música y su percepción de la misma, rapeos de Damu y Raw Poetic, así como sesiones de jazz puros, encontramos ese sonido poético de las calles del que siempre han escrito estos  dos MC's, ayudados del genio de los metales y la música afrodescendiente para crear un LP con atmósferas de Jams donde puedes sentir la esencia del jazz, la esencia del Mississippi encapsulado en un solo álbum, salió por medio del sello discográfico Redefinition Records a.k.a Redef Records donde exigieron todo su talento a estos tres hombres para crear un álbum enteramente improvisado, todo lo que se hace con los instrumentos se grabó al momento, nadie los dirigió ni necesitaron serlo; es una energía pura que se siente al momento de escucharlo, es lo especial de la música, que puede emerger de lo profundo de un ser humano en cuestión de minutos, sobre todo cuando compartes ideales y emociones acerca de ella con grandes amigos, algo que dejan en claro con este disco. Eloquent & Knowsum-JLALSD (Jaylib auf LSD/ Jaylib en LSD) (lanzado el 22 de mayo de 2020)

Knowsum también conocido como Nepemunk, originario de Rogers, Arkansas, E.U.A, quien actualmente está trabajando con el sello Sichtexot, y más de 9 años de trayectoria, junto a Eloquent, originario de Wiesbaden, Alemania, con más de 10 años de trayectoria, trabajaron en conjunto para lograr un álbum de larga duración llamado "JLALSD" o "Jaylib en LSD", por que es un disco ecléctico que tiene distintos samples y de vez en cuando Eloquent usa una voz parecida a la de Quasimoto, alter ego de Madlib, por esto se asume como una especie de homenaje a  J Dilla y Madlib, siendo una combinación de la serie "The Beat Konducta" que Madlib hizo cuando comenzó a viajar a distintas partes de medio oriente buscando vinilos raros y baratos, es que nace este álbum, con un total de 21 canciones con una producción y rapeos excelentes por parte de estos dos músicos. Es un disco completo con ritmos Chill y Jazzy Hop.

Kxng Crooked & Joell Ortiz-H.A.R.D. (lanzado el 30 de mayo de 2020)

Joell Ortiz y Kxng Crooked dos grandes amigos que vivieron en barrios parecidos en New York lanzan este álbum con el sello Mellow Music Group, uno de los sellos con mejores raperos y productores firmados, donde nos cuentan lo duro que es vivir en Brooklyn, con productrores de la talla de Eric Sermon, The Heatmakerz, con los que Fred the Godson y Joell Ortiz sacaron un álbum llamado "Gorila Glue", Boogeyman, Illmind, Apollo Brown, con el que Joell Ortiz trabajo en conjunto el álbum "Mona Lisa" y J.U.S.T.I.C.E. League quienes se encargaron de darle ritmo a las rimas de Crooked y Joell, siendo un disco enteramente dedicado a todas las personas que han muerto a causa de la violencia y las distintas situaciones de la vida que se sufre día con día en el vecindario, uno de ellos siendo Fred The Godson, a quien va dedicado este álbum, quien falleció de Covid-19, siendo así una carta de amor a todas las personas que han perdido en cada una de las maneras posibles en las que se pierde a un amigo, conocido o familiar, pues retratan lo que actualmente es New York y sus alrededores, dando su recuento de los hechos y que nada de lo que paso en el pasado ha cambiado tanto como se cree, sigue existiendo mierda en el mundo y alguien debía encargarse de retratarlo. Y qué mejor que estos dos que se conocen de más.

Run the Jewels-RTJ 4 (lanzado el 3 de junio de 2020 | originalmente pensado para el 5 de junio)

El-P y Killer Mike son dos nombres que significan demasiado para el rap hasta estos momentos, por un lado Killer Mike colaborando con varias personas de Atlanta, desde T.I., hasta Outkast y por otra parte, gente como El-P, más relacionado con el rap abstracto y el sello discográfico Rawkus, para después fundar Definitive Jux, teniendo como aliados a Cage, Aesop Rock, Busdrive, Eyedea, Atmosphere, MF DOOM, Prefuse 73 y que desde 2013 han estado sacando música en conjunto con el nombre de Run The Jewels, caracterizándose por tener el estilo de instrumentales a las que El-P está acostumbrado, pues Killer Mike es uno de esos raperos que se adaptan a todo tipo de instrumentales y entre los dos suelen hacer juegos dentro de las propias canciones muy interesantes, siendo un poco el juego del emisor, receptor y viceversa como se puede escuchar en la canción Honey Dripper del grupo John Doe Terrabal. Y este disco no es la excepción, pues prepararon su mejor arsenal de rimas y flows para traernos explosiones hasta nuestros oídos, pues esto sólo puede ser obra del Michael Bay del rap, mejor conocido como Rick Rubin, quién debutó como DJ de los Beastie Boys y fundó el sello Def Jam Records, junto a Rusell Simons. Actualmente es productor de rap y heavy metal, caracterizado por hacer instrumentales muy explosivas y que mejor para RTJ que un productor como Rubin. Además de esto tienen colaboraciones con Greg Nice, DJ Premier, Pharell Williams, Zach de la Rocha, vocalista de Rage Against The Machine con quién ya han hecho música antes, Joshua Homme y Mavis Staples, con un total de 11 canciones, originalmente pensado para ser lanzado el 5 de junio, lo adelantaron 2 días y decidieron regalarlo para que todos tuvieran un poco de alegría en su vida escuchando su nuevo disco, esto debido a todos los disturbios que se han presentado esta semana con el asesinato de George Floyd en Minneapolis, siendo un gesto de bondad, por parte de este dúo para tener un poco de distracción, siendo la música de las mejores opciones existentes.

Freddie Gibbs & The Alchemist-Alfredo (lanzado el 29 de mayo de 2020)

Freddie Gibbs quién ha colaborado con Blu, Homeboy Sandman, Statik Selektah, Madlib, y un par de personas más, ahora se encuentra junto a The Alchemist, amigo de infancia de Evidence de Dilated Peoples, quién ha producido para distintas personalidades del rap, desde Prodigy de Mobb Depp hasta Action Bronson; en esta ocasión nos entregan un disco colaborativo lleno de referencias a la droga, las calles y armas, llenas de punchlines como las que acostumbra Freddie, ya que desde 2010 que no colaboran juntos, siendo un disco que nadie esperaba, pues el 28 de mayo lanzaron el vídeo " 1985" y con este la lista de canciones que vendrían en este nuevo álbum, el cuál muchos ya consideran AOTY, lo cuál sinceramente no comparto, pero es algo que deben decidir por su propia opinión. Este disco tiene colaboraciones de Griselda records, lo que quizá haga más tentativo a ser el disco del año, pues Griselda es catalogado actualmente como el mejor sello discográfico de gangsta rap del momento, sacando álbumes sin parar desde mediados del año pasado y hasta la fecha, casi cada mes un miembro del sello lanza un álbum, lo cuál es algo curioso, pues muy poca gente hace eso de manera constante, y todavía con tiempo de sobra para regalarle unas barras a Gibbs y Alchemist en este disco de 10 canciones; así como la aparición de Tyler, the Creator y Rick Ross. el nombre del disco es un juego de palabras entre el apodo de Alchemist y el nombre de Freddie, por lo que es Al+Fredo, con el denominador común de la pasta Alfredo, una pasta típica de Italia, muy rica, denominando su disco como un platillo exquisito.

OXP-Swing Convention (lanzado el 29 de mayo de 2020)

Onra, beatmaker francés que ha trabajado por más de 10 años en su música, actualmente con el sello Fool's Gold Records y NBN (Nothing but Net) Records, donde junto a Pomrad, músico de nacionalidad Belga, quien tiene ocho años en la electrónica, el G-Funk y el JazzyHop, trabajando duro para llegar a donde hoy está y sacar este álbum en conjunto con Onra, ambos actualmente en el mismo sello discográfico creando una atmósfera noventera de lo que era el G-Funk, Jazz y Rap de esa época, cada canción está llena de R&B y vocoders que recuerdan a Dre y Pac, sobre todo por la canción "California" en conjunto con Domino. Es un disco que disfrutas junto a tu pareja, mientras tienen una cena romántica y algo más en el calor del momento. Es un disco bien logrado, pues ambos son expertos en este tipo de estilos, pues la mayoría de sus discos contienen algo de estos géneros en sus canciones. Entre las colaboraciones se encuentran Devin Morrison, quien sacó un disco de R&B y Nu Soul muy disfrutable llamado "Bussin'"; Horace Brown, Maiya Blaney, T3 de Slum Village, Ready Meadhy, Natalie Oliveri, Ace Hashimoto, Grand Puba, Pudgee the Phat Bastard, Reggie B y K-Reen quienes le meten un aura excelente al disco, pues la mayoría de canciones tienen un estilo similar a Outkast, D'angelo, Maxwell y Warren G con Nate Dogg, totalmente recomendado para un momento de relajación.

Moar-Boom Bap Mentality (lanzado el 1 de junio de 2020)

Moar, beatmaker francés que bajo el sello Trad Vibe Records, lanzó este disco que vanagloria la técnica del boom bap con un toque de jazz en cada una de sus canciones, siendo este un trabajo de dos años donde logró juntar a leyendas como Sadat X, El Da Sensei, Napoleon Da Legend, Dirt Platoon, y personas como Rita J, Finsta, Dumi Right, LS Brigandes y Miss Kraze, creando un disco completamente con la atmósfera noventera de esos beats boom bap que nos rememoran a Nas, ATCQ, De La Soul, y toda la costa este de State Island a el Bronx, siendo un digno recordatorio de lo bien que han envejecido esas instrumentales, porque en 12 cortes nos demuestra lo que es capaz de hacer para revivir ese sonido que trae consigo nostalgia y recuerdos para los que vivieron esa época del rap.

Suff Daddy & Eloquent-Misery Funk (lanzado el 5 de junio de 2020)

Por poco se escapaba este disco, pues salió hoy mismo, Suff Daddy, miembro de Jakarta Records, junto a Eloquent, mismo rapero del que hablamos en el primer disco, nos traen este EP de 4 canciones con sus respectivas instrumentales, crearon un álbum de JazzyHop, Jazzatrónica, Boom Bap, ChillHop tan carismático que son suficientes cuatro canciones para disfrutarlo al máximo, es bien sabido que Suff Daddy es un productor que ha trabajado con gente como Mayer Hawthorne, miembro de Tuxedo; Miles Bonny, productor, cantautor, trompetista y DJ; Phat Kat, Elzhi, Hulk Hodn y otros cuantos y bueno, no hay más que agregar de Eloquent, es muy versátil en cuanto a su voz, es capaz de cantar, rapear y ser un trapecista en las pistas, un EP que se disfruta de principio a final, como acostumbran los productores y raperos de Europa.

SUGA CANCIONES - PREDEBUT

Antes de entrar en BigHit, Suga era un rapero underground en un grupo llamado D-TOWN. Su nombre artístico era Gloss.

En este post voy a estar hablando y compartiendo algunas canciones previas al debut porque son bastante buenas.

Me parece fascinante que en sus canciones anteriores usa una voz mucho más profunda (la voz de Suga es naturalmente muy profunda). Sus canciones con BTS/en su mixtape son generalmente con una voz mucho más alta. Espero que haya sido una elección que hizo y no una que se le impuso.

De todas formas...

Vamos a comenzar!

1. "Diss" Creo que esta canción se hizo cuando Suga llegó en segundo lugar en una batalla de rap. La canción muestra es "Shook Ones" de Mobb Deep. Suga obviamente pone su propio estilo en él.

Aunque el título es "Diss" que en realidad parece estar insultándose a sí mismo un poco hacia el final que creo que es bastante divertido.

"You can obviously see that I won this game...ah...wait, but I lost. Damn".

2. "Swagger" En esta canción Suga básicamente nos dice lo seguro que está con sus habilidades de rap. La música es "Over" de Drake, pero nuevamente Suga ha puesto su estilo en ella.

"You can't estimate what I do because I have rooted genes".

3. "Dream Money" De todas las canciones que Suga produjo, creo que este es su canción más débil. No estoy segura de dónde quitó el ritmo o si es su propia creación. La canción es acerca de su ambición por la riqueza y el cumplimiento de sus sueños. Fue esta canción la que nos dio una de las letras de "The Last".

4. "All I do is win" Suga hizo esta canción en 2011 (2 años antes de que BTS debutara - en la canción menciona a BTS). La canción es básicamente acerca de su lucha por el éxito con BTS. Casi 7 años después creo que podemos decir que lo tiene.

"From rap to producing I strive for them all".

También voy a hablar de una canción que Suga lanzó poco después de debutar.

5. "It Doesn't Matter" Me encanta el rap/letras de Suga en esta canción. La canción es otra vez acerca de su confianza, pero también se trata de que se adhiera a sus convicciones, incluso si otros lo insultan.

"Listening to my music, I stole away young girls' nights, like insomnia".

"In this circle of hypocrisy I will hold onto my conviction".

"My flow is like kama sutra, toying with you on my beat".

Así que ahí está. Esas son algunas de las canciones anteriores de Suga. Siento que ha mejorado MUCHO desde que se hicieron estas canciones.~
