It makes me so genuinely sad that some of my favorite characters and story and lore in just about anything ever is locked behind Elsword's god awful progression system. Like I love this game enough to cash out for it but so many people I know dropped out before getting to parts of the story that I know they'll love a lot due to it. The only cheap way to consume it is via youtube videos I guess and that's just a damn shame.

The writing in Tirnog and Abyss especially is genuinely fantastic and Monaterra is off to a really good start too. Victoria is one of my favorite characters of all time ever. Her ideals, the way she built Magmelia from scratch, it's all so amazing. The reveal that dream demons (succubus/incubus, like Karis and co.) are all people who have died and found a second life is so fascinating too. It's such an interesting portrayal of nihilism. "We only enjoy this life because we realized when we escaped from our restraints, how futile everything is. Huhu, but I know you don't understand yet. Goals, mission... Those are like names. You believe it's yours when someone else bestowed it to you. Though it's yours, it's also not. Hope, determination... Those are sparks that last only a moment. They soon wilt away like flowers. If so, then the only thing that can be considered eternal is love for yourself, isn't it?"

Abyss as well. You could feel the exhaustion of everyone in the crew as they scramble out of the abyss. The relationship between Aren and Ran is so much more interesting than it really had to be. Aren being the one to seek out Ran, Ran being the one forced to leave because Aren was too perfect of a host and risked being changed by him. The speech Tyr gave when Ran insulted the original Demon King. Amazing stuff.

The whole concept of the Abyss in Elsword is so mysterious and interesting. The fact it just shows up every now and then and they have to deal with it like an annoying thunderstorm. The way it's the origin of demons and the implications of that on Elria, Ishmael, and Henir. The way it's described as alive with a heart and a the opening being like a digestive tract with multiple sections but a tube that goes all the way down. I could go on and on

And don't get me started on demon realm politics.

Anyways Elsword has some of my favorite characters and lore in anything and the fact that few will know because of the progression system makes me very genuinely sad.

God I love Victoria so much.

But he looks good, he is suggesting Doomhemoth to take a sip of a special concoction he brewed up. It's green. Mad paradox is holding onto Doomhemoth’s forearm as the deal starts to settle in, he is grinning so massively, and drooling a black substance as usual.

In the distance Domi is taking interest in the specimen, and funnily enough shoves his clipboard at Overmind’s chest and so he could get a more focused posture of the beast from afar.

Great example of a sip of the green vile~> a humanoid form, this tones down the Monster deformity...tho not diminishing It completely.

Dark Knight

1/4 - 

After the battle where she encountered demons, Elesis thought hard about where she should be. She believed it won't be easy to investigate as long as she's involved with the Kingdom. Though it wasn't an easy decision, Elesis leaves alone with just her sword behind her back.

2/4 - 

As she wandered around searching for demons, finds corrupt nobles who used their position and power to exploit others. The tyranny that was happening unknown to the kingdom was causing a lot of suffering. Let's raise the sword to defeat the corrupt noble and his personal guards.

3/4 - 

There's many evils in this world they are everywhere and have many faces. She did know that they existed, but she thought her actions would make people change their minds for the better. Now she knows that she was naïve. There was another way to persuade them. Even if that went against her beliefs.

4/4 - 

The evil that takes root in dark corners hidden from sight. Demons were not the only thing she should have been guarding against, and rooting them out was her true path. She feels more cool and calm than ever before. It's now time to carry out justice. let's show this resolve through action.

I wanna bring up this moment from the Elsword anime for a second.

Listen. From a narrative perspective, most of this makes sense. For those who haven't watched the anime, this is about when Lu and Ciel are introduced to the group, and just before Ignia's betrayal. Everyone thinks Elesis is dead, Elsword is upstairs recovering with Aisha watching over him.

Now symbolically, this sums up everyone's stance pretty well in my opinion. Lu is sat with Ciel at her right hand. Perfect. Raven, Ara, Eve and Chung are all on one side, negotiating with Lu and Ciel and deciding whether to trust them. By all sitting/standing together, they show unity. Great.

They're directly across from Lu and Ciel, who they are speaking to and about to join forces with. Makes sense.

Meanwhile, Add is not quite away from the table, but he's not integrated with either group, either. This is fitting because this is before the point in the anime at least where he is actually dedicated to the group, but it shows that he is still, unbeknownst to himself, "at the table" metaphorically. That is to say, his truly joining the group instead of just tagging along to study Eve is very much plausible.

Ignia, meanwhile, is at an entirely different table, because at this point in the story, betraying Scar is unfathomable, even if she really, really wants to.

Lastly, leaving the one side of the table open allows us to see everyone clearly.

HOWEVER.

If I ignore all that symbolism.

It just looks like Add is refusing to let anyone else sit on the bench with him.

I freaking love Elsword's class system. It's a unique way to handle a diverse roster without flooding it with too many new faces, and an ingenious tool for character development, allowing the writers to explore multiple facets of each one in ways we wouldn't otherwise get to see.

For example, the "tragically dead parents" trope is often difficult to get right, but I think Add's story in particular manages to get away with it because of how Add himself unconsciously carries on his parents' legacies, depending on which path he goes down. In the first two, he takes after his father (Asker), while in the second two, he embodies traits of his mother (Grace).

As Doom Bringer, he actually ends up achieving his father's original goal of creating a war machine by fusing a human with nasod technology. Obviously, the outcome is drastically different from what Asker was probably intending (the biggest one being that Add still retains his sentience/free will), but the concept remains.

As Dominator, while there's no explicit reference to either his mother or father's endeavors, he still ends up taking on a role similar to his father: a figure in authority intending to bend reality to his will. However, again, there's a substantial difference in the fact that Asker attempted to do this in an abusive and controlling way over real people, while Add is depicted as the well-mannered architect of a new virtual utopia, with no interest in commandeering actual humans.

Mad Paradox has the most obvious connections, of course. He's so fixated on his mother that he literally breaks time and space attempting to go back in his own timeline to save her. (Add in general is an interesting example of how time travel apparently works in Elrios, with the stand-out rule that you can't actually go back in your own time, but you can travel to the pasts of different timelines. Too bad this concept is never explored or addressed anywhere else ever. *heavy sigh*...)

And finally, Overmind is the most ironic. He ends up applying his mother's research to his father's philosophy, subtly setting himself up as a "benevolent dictator" over the people he helps, using them as unwitting test subjects in his schemes for...world domination? I don't actually remember what he was after in the end, whoops-

I think my point still stands, though. It's pretty cool!

So you're most likely Laby in this case ( Nisha if you want too ! Kinda just w/o the yandere part , or you are the yandere ... ) , since it was Nisha who turned Laby into a mirror in order to protect her while also making a world where Laby could be happy as Nisha also starts to materialize .

Nisha , actually being Laby's sadness , also starts to materialize as to something similar to a human ... While Laby remained , the aura in the center of the mirror was Laby , it's just that she could no longer do like human things and be like " ... " like Nisha in the canon story ( I assume )

Laby is also shown to be doing great in the mirror in the Hyperactive skill Kaleidoscope

... Well , it could be the same for your fav serving as your devoted savior , of course ! Yes ! That's very cute and romantic !

They get rid of everything you dislike before dragging you out again , just to show you what the fuck they had done in terms of thinking that you would be happy coz everything you dislike was gone ... But again , it was only dislike , not hate ...
