A minor character I feel gets a bad rap is Emma from Ghost Trick. Like, I get it, she's haughty and pretentious and those are traits that are easy to hate, but her behaviour around the Justice Minister and Amelie is what gets her flack from players. People forget that no, her novel writing is not why she took Amelie and left. It's because she knows about SPOILERS the manipulator controlling her husband, and thus knows the Justice Minister is about to sentence an innocent man to death. That's a pretty rational thing to get the hump with your partner for. You can tell from their first conversation that JM has no issue with her novels ("You can write your novel just as well from home!") and it's simply Amelie's childish perspective that it's only because of that.

Obviously shouting at Amelie is not good, but again, Emma is under massive pressure because *she knows what her husband is about to do.* I find it unfair to let this moment of weakness define her entire parenthood, when she's otherwise shown to be very calm and casual about Amelie's misbehaving (not going to piano lessons, etc.) But these are just thoughts.

remembering when my friend was playing ghost trick and voicing dialogue with a couple other friends, and one of them replaced the term "manipulator" with "homosexual" leading to me calling the meteor the gay bomb and establishing [redacted] as the gayest man to exist.

Uhhhhh fav side character?

oooh, that's tricky. honestly, the first answer that comes to me is detective rindge. something about his visual design, as basic as it is, hits a sweet spot in my brain. and the scene he has with lynne in the chicken kitchen is genuinely sweet. he's a good guy! trying his best!

potential alternate answer a): pigeon man, primarily for how he adds to the group banter in chapter 15. also for having the balls to look at the undead guy with telekinesis who just said he's going to kill you and straight-up say "why not let me live, bitch?"

potential alternate answer b): amelie. she's fun :)

i also really enjoy bailey and his partner as a comedic pair, as well as the pair of beauty and dandy, but answering with a pair feels like cheating.

Emma takes it upon herself to inform and entertain her dubious but fascinated captive audience of Kamila and Amelie with a lovingly-crafted novelisation of the (heavily-fictionalized) top-secret tale of Temsik and the destiny which unfolded in that vanished night. It won several awards, probably! (Otherwise known as: three Ghost Trick fans saw the concept art in the remake trailer and their brains went brrr)
