i still 100% believe that barton would take care of the eraserhead baby like a rich person would take care of their chihuahua that hangs out in their purse all the time... and by that, i mean he is PAMPERING that baby!! and just in case any of you don't know what the eraserhead baby is, he will be below the cut in oil painting form (made by moonbaby1995 on reddit).
but before i show you all the amazing painting — because barton has a particular affection for things that might be viewed as grotesque to others, or at least unpleasant to look at, this may be a very niche and also unpopular opinion here BUT get victor frankenstein away from his monster.
+ even though barton is certainly not the best father to say the least, he would literally adore that giant of a man and bring him to a therapist who does play therapy BC honestly. i've heard that it can really help adults process their trauma and also for those who find it hard to vocalize their emotions and/or what they're feeling, it's also good for that as well. but that's just my two cents on a topic that none of you asked about though i shall force you to learn about anyways LOLLL

Whats your ideal age range for Charlie Vicker to be?
26-34 peak life crisis age. I like to think he was around his mid-twenties when he was an actor, and then it all went downhill from there (actual gl). I don't think he ages like the other gls bc he's stuck in middle of nowhere Galaxy and time gets funky out there, which just really adds to his disconnect between the other earth gls (and also the earth itself)

hi yes i am once again incredibly emotional about the genuine best mha fic out there, Why Are We Here Again? by cloud_nine_and_three_quarters.
it has the literal best interpretation of the heroes vs villains society and the impact that has on the vulnerable. it's also full of 1-a shenanigans where they go feral. but its also about hope and its abt overcoming all that society throws at the kids, and making a better world for everyone despite everything. i love it so much i have reread it genuinely over a dozen times and every single time i get hit with emotions when i finish it because it just never misses a single beat. it's so tightly knit and masterfully written there are almost no loose ends.
here's the tvtropes page for it if you wanna browse

I’m not defending Billie in the least or anything, and she is an adult and is responsible for her words and actions, but I’m just saying… She was a child star whose family’s entire existence revolves around her career and has since she was a young teenager. Which can be lovely for support, sure, but could also lead to limited outside guidance or perspective on her career. (Look, I know little about her family other than watching her documentary on Apple a few years ago.) I’m just saying there could be an echo chamber of influence in her circle leading to people enabling short-term resentment and pettiness instead of calculating how to play the long game. The fact that her own management was obtuse enough to be liking unsavoury tweets about another high profile artist on a public account is evidence enough that her larger team’s judgment is perhaps not the best to put it mildly.
Obviously it’s not a great look to vocally criticize *checks notes* selling more physical copies of albums, selling special digital editions of albums, releasing long form content and putting on an intricate show for fans when that’s the industry standard that you have to aspire to, and more importantly, even worse to make it seem you’re above it all while actively pursuing some of those things. Eventually she (along with any other artist coming up) is going to have to find that you do in fact have to show you care to have the kind of longevity that the big names have. She might just skate through this one because her fanbase is young and will support her, but eventually, she will have to have the product to back this all up.
I don’t know what I’m really saying here other than who you surround yourself with absolutely matters.

I’ve only recently told the story of a fairly formative moment of my early college days which I thought was funny/normal and given the feedback turns out was actually unbelievably dangerous? I told one person and had such a strong reaction that I brought it up to a few for a unanimous “you must’ve been insane” feedback, lol
Fun? Story under the cut I guess
So in my first summer of college, I had decided to partake in an internship program that sold educational textbooks. Everything seemed appropriate (to me, but I’m also naive, well significantly more naive than now) but like…
The point of the internship was to cold call homes to sell books. We were supposed to go to the east coast without lodging. You were meant to cold call all homes in a random neighborhood where you got dropped off at and go door to door and ask for a sublet. In my 3man team we managed to be one of 2 pods that got a place to live (out of like 6).
There’s also the promised v. actual work hours: 8-5 at worst versus 5 to 10p.
The real kicker was communications. When my roommate and I were shadowing a manager, we both had phones on us. During our first break, Nattie brought her phone out first to text her mom, but had it taken away by the manager. He cited that we could not be on phones on the job and when Nattie was like “but my mom is checking up on me” he literally just took it from her and threw it in the glove compartment. I never bs’d so fast in my life when I said that I forgot it at home and never pulled it out till 10when he left the car to sign off for the day.
In retrospect I wonder if that was an even ok thing to do, hm.

i think there is something so funny about tu.lin going from honorific-name to just name with adults of his flock as he grows. oh, the masters will still be master and dad and mum do not have any other names duh (joking) but everyone else is suddenly on a purely first-name basis with a t(w)een whether they like it or not

between my computer deciding to rebel, and work, and life, and I feel like I have a perpetual minor cold with that kinda slightly stuffy feel and that taste in the back of my throat,
I am kindly requesting someone to just Old Yeller me at this point
#the computer one is pissibg me off particularly because i Just built this shit two years ago#then i do a driver update a couple of weeks ago and start noticing that now if i game and watch a stream at the same time#some windows process starts choking the fucking life out of my CPU after a couple of hours#and after following a chain of looking shit up i get to ghe event viewer#and there's just a nonstop parade of errors for typically one or two things#at this point i drag my dad in because im out of my depth#i do some more shit. i update and reflash the bios. i check drivers 500 times. i reformat the drive and reinstall windows from scratch.#even if it seems okay for a bit it eventually starts shitting out errors again.#they are either about DeviceGuard or complaining about the network#i look up some more things! i find some references but they tell me to turn off or on some things that are already enabled or disabled.#we begin thinking theres something wrong with the network part of the motherboard#i have an adapter we grabbed from work to try when i get home.#if that doesnt work then i am buying a new motherboard cpu memory and cpu cooler#because if im going to have to fucking replace shit then i might as well upgrade#part of me wants to keep the old stuff and set up a new computer and try troubleshooting because puzzle. and i hate not knowing WHAT PART#SPECIFICALLY is fucked#bro i am so TIRED#i JUST did the math a few weeks ago and was like YES if i live on ramen for a few pay cycles i will pay off my credit card and start saving#to put toward my student loans when those start up again. and my computer went 'lol thats cute'#like i am deathly afraid that i will replace all this shit and it'll STILL have this issue#like. it's useable. i could live with it. but it's clearly not normal behavior and that's what bothers me. something is clearly wrong.#not to sound old but remember when shit just fuckin worked#like i sat there for 5 hours yesterday trying different shit. finally thought i had fixed something. go to bed. wake up.#STREAM OF ERRORS for the network thing again every few minutes while i was asleep.#what are you DOING. what is WRONG WITH YOU.#my dad is looking over my shoulder at the event viewer like 'that looks like a SQL statement but why is it failing etc etc'#EXCELLENT QUESTION AND I ONLY UNDERSTOOD THREE OF THOSE WORDS! why is my computer sick!!#no it's not a virus. i promise. i was raised better than that#it FEELS like something fundamentally broke. it feels like a hardware thing. but how. what fucking demons did microsoft summon#in a driver update. that went into my computer and physically broke my shit

currently doing a bunch of wiz lore research for oc reasons but i like it when my ocs are just. silly. random facts that serve zero purpose whatsoever
rn it is about a bunch of creatures in wiz and im thinking. seraphs. hmm yea (<- is trying to work on my ocs' powers/abilities outside of game mechanics spellcasting)
i know althea had to sacrifice a lot of her power in order to reincarnate two very powerful gods as mortals (erin and quinn) (also sacrifice her time. she has two dragon children trashing the house now) so i imagine she's sisters with lady oriel and passed down the role of "princess of the seraphs" to her.. also want more lady oriel content
anyways she's like erin and quinn's aunt now and i giggle to myself thinking about how when quinn ends up on unicorn way trying to save it he keeps getting frustrated with trying to figure out how wands and cards work and would rather just cause a giant hailstorm in his dragon form, (which would destroy the whole street) and oriel has to babysit this very chaotic child
erin comes in and oriel cannot keep her hedge maze in peace because the two are running around like tiny rats as baby dragons and scaring away all the fairies. unicorn way has a new problem now and it's not the undead this time
atm im also trying to make a phoenix and leviathan oc too, and they're pirates.... ill be back with an update on this one in like 72 years

At the California Institute of the Arts, it all started with a videoconference between the registrar’s office and a nonprofit.
One of the nonprofit’s representatives had enabled an AI note-taking tool from Read AI. At the end of the meeting, it emailed a summary to all attendees, said Allan Chen, the institute’s chief technology officer. They could have a copy of the notes, if they wanted — they just needed to create their own account.
Next thing Chen knew, Read AI’s bot had popped up inabout a dozen of his meetings over a one-week span. It was in one-on-one check-ins. Project meetings. “Everything.”
The spread “was very aggressive,” recalled Chen, who also serves as vice president for institute technology. And it “took us by surprise.”
The scenariounderscores a growing challenge for colleges: Tech adoption and experimentation among students, faculty, and staff — especially as it pertains to AI — are outpacing institutions’ governance of these technologies and may even violate their data-privacy and security policies.
That has been the case with note-taking tools from companies including Read AI, Otter.ai, and Fireflies.ai.They can integrate with platforms like Zoom, Google Meet, and Microsoft Teamsto provide live transcriptions, meeting summaries, audio and video recordings, and other services.
Higher-ed interest in these products isn’t surprising. For those bogged down with virtual rendezvouses, a tool that can ingest long, winding conversations and spit outkey takeaways and action items is alluring. These services can also aid people with disabilities, including those who are deaf.
But the tools can quickly propagate unchecked across a university. They can auto-join any virtual meetings on a user’s calendar — even if that person is not in attendance. And that’s a concern, administrators say, if it means third-party productsthat an institution hasn’t reviewedmay be capturing and analyzing personal information, proprietary material, or confidential communications.
“What keeps me up at night is the ability for individual users to do things that are very powerful, but they don’t realize what they’re doing,” Chen said. “You may not realize you’re opening a can of worms.“
The Chronicle documented both individual and universitywide instances of this trend. At Tidewater Community College, in Virginia, Heather Brown, an instructional designer, unwittingly gave Otter.ai’s tool access to her calendar, and it joined a Faculty Senate meeting she didn’t end up attending. “One of our [associate vice presidents] reached out to inform me,” she wrote in a message. “I was mortified!”
