Reason why I love Dub over the Sub?

The characters feel like people in the dub rather in the sub.

Like from what I have seen, the sub more or less treats them like characters rather than people. They don't sound like actual people, but characters. It isn't bad, but it isn't good either.

In the dub, call their dialouge cringe all you like it, but it feels more natural and they even give them flaws, minor or not. Heck, there was a whole ass conversation about how hot dogs should be cooked and one of the characters straight up said, "Seriously, you are triggering me." Hell, Yusaku in the dub once burned down Kolter's kitchen.

Anime dub anon

Oh, remembering that i haven't actually watched any new anime. The closest to that would be like nagatoro. The first thing i think of when i hear "anime dub" is the Kirby or Yokai watch one. Aside from kiddie stuff i did rewatch Ouran Host Club not long ago. I've heard complaints about the Dragon Maid dub but i honestly felt like the changes were so small you could easily miss them or that my mind becomes braindead when consuming moeshit. Though i did flinch whenever someone in nagatoro said "sus" i wasn't expecting it. Tbh I'm more of a casual viewer not really a weeb.

I guess to someone like me and other fans, shit like the Dragon Maid dub is kind of unacceptable to push in political views. Especially when the group themselves claim they are progressive, but had done edgey shit in dubs in the past. Jamie Marchi was one of those people that gave people reason and a reminder why dubs suck. If the bitch who voiced PANTY in Panty and Stocking has to make this line change for a big boobed character, you wonder what the fuck is going on. And if you think she isn't that edgey for voicing the sluttiest characters in all of anime, she was the script writer and ADR Director for the fucking Hetalia Dub. And that dub had MANY MANY MAAAAANY changes that is far different from the webcomic and original anime itself, that people say the Dub Hetalia is a separate canonicity. That's why people had given shit to JelloApocalypse for trying to do the same thing. Thank god he is blacklisted from anime industry and his closest only to big fame name again is doing a villain for a Gmod Super Mario 64 parody series.

I tried my best to translate it. The only problem was translating the ladybug-themed cards since those cards are forming sentences. They make only sense in german if you read them back to back, hence translating them separately is kind of causing confusion or respectively changes the translation based on how you translate it because the sentence order of the German sentences differs from the English sentence order. The mentioned sentences: When life goes crazy, sometimes all it takes is a little luck. This summer, the global phenomenon is finally coming to the big screen.

So I was watching episode 7 of Vice Versa on youtube, and the subtitles were REALLLLY unmatched to the proper timestamps. Even using auto-translate this was still an issue (which other viewers seemed to be experiencing as well.) 

I created a subtitle file in Premiere that’s synched properly to the video and thought I would share it with you all! (It took forever so I’m not gonna keep it to myself lol.) I figure it would be helpful for both viewing & video editing reference.

• Directions  To see the subs, download both the subtitle file & the pt. 4 video file (which I’ve provided as well to make your lives easier <3). Open the video file with VLC to play it (VLC is free and will overlay the subs for you—fyi you can also customize the size of the text in the menu bar which is nice lol. Personally I like to set their display to “small”). Note that both the subtitle and video file need to be saved into the same folder for them to work together, and they need to share the same file name as well. (So, if you rename one of them, you need to rename both.)

Here’s some pictures of those steps for anyone more visual. It’s not hard at all. :)

People out there complaining about translations and localisations in Japanese games and I’m here like, I just want a decently dubbed Koei Warriors game, is that so much to ask?

(for all intents and purposes this is partially satire, I’ve done rants about this subject before and I’m well aware of the situation)
