GODS! If they manage to save Arlin, this motherfucker better formally adopt Chip. I want him to come up to him with adoption papers and say something like: "I know you're so much older now, and you're way past needing this big old guy to protect you, but please grant me this one favor. Please grant me an honor to call myself your father." And I want Chip to burst into tears, I want him to hug the crap out of Arlin and I want him to shakily sign the damn papers so he can finally and formally call himself Chip James. Pls he deserves it 😭😭😭He deserves it so much for everything he's been through. The boy gave everything to find him, I want for at least a tiny bit, before they head off to another world balance threatening adventure, I just want Chip to feel like a son. Imagine how happy Gillion would be if the big ol' tree only told him about the "Sea god's last egg" part of the prophesy, without ever mentioning his life being a lie, his inability to control that which has already been written out for him and the entire world being inevitably swallowed by eternal darkness. Imagine, none of that, but only "Ey, guess what, this suggests that one of your parents is a SEA god!!!" Like imagine how happy he would be to find out that the being that brought him into this world was a fucking Leviathan under literally any other cirxumstances! He'd be so happy, he'd love this so much! Instead, he's been so overwhelmed by the heavyness of his burden, that he didn't even have time or desire to process.
