“Good morning campers, welcome to the Cut the Camera Podcast. I’m Nicolas Sturniolo.”

You glanced over at Matt, eyeing his side profile as he tightened his arm around your shoulder and pulled the mic towards him. It was your fault the secret came out when it did, you made googly eyes at him every chance you got, and he knew every single time.

“I’m Matthew Sturniolo.” He said, looking down at you with furrowed brows and a soft smile.

“And I’m gonna be sick.” Chris said, your jaw dropping in amusement as you whipped your head towards him. He laughed into the mic and shrugged his shoulders. “It isn’t my fault you’re staring at Matt like the sun shines out of his ass.” He said.

You rolled your eyes and pulled your mic close to you. “And what about it?” You shot back, Matt scoffing and running a hand over his face.

“Well, I guess that is one way to start the topic. Why don’t we go ahead and introduce our special guest, Matt?” Nick prompted, Matt uncovering his face and adjusting his headphones. He looked into one of the cameras and smiled, looking back down at you. “Go ahead.”

You cleared your throat and looked into the camera, pulling your mic towards your face and sighing into it. “If you don’t know me, I’m Y/n. I’ve known these losers for a couple of years now.” You said, turning your head and smiling at Matt. “And dating this specific loser for a little over a year, and if it wasn’t for you meddling kids, we could have gotten away with keeping it a secret for a little longer.” Your eyes met the camera again with raised eyebrows and an amused smile. “No, in all seriousness, it’s funny the way everyone found out.” You said.

Matt chuckled and shook his head. “So, basically, this podcast episode is talking about how we met Y/n, how she somehow got stuck with Matt, and how you all figured out the secret.” He said, his fingers tapping against your arm lightly from where his hand was draped over your shoulders.

“And Nick and I are going to try and keep our food down while we’re at it.” Chris said. You rolled your eyes and adjusted your mic.

“Chris is just jealous, don’t listen to him.” Nick said, Chris scoffing into his cup. You threw your head back and laughed, grateful that the microphone only picked up the slightest sound of the raucous noise.

The pod went by smoothly, the four of you bouncing off of each other with jokes and stories that all of you loved. One particular story, you noticed, the fans were editing like crazy.

“Look at this.” Matt said, holding his phone so you could see it from where your head was laid in his lap.

“That isn’t how it happened!” Matt exclaimed, the camera panning to Chris rolling his eyes, and then back to you with your face in your hands to hide your embarrassment.

“That abso-fuckin-lutely is how it happened. You were walking Y/n out, and I ran downstairs to remind her to bring her camera the next day, and I caught you kissing her goodnight! Don’t tell me what I remember, that shit still haunts my nightmares.”

The edit continued, more clips of Chris rolling his eyes at the camera and laughing in slow motion to a song you couldn’t recognize.

You sighed and looked up at Matt. “Out of all of the stories we told on how Nick and Chris found out, that isn’t the one I’d expect to be blowing up.” You said, pressing the comments icon and smiling at all of the sweet things being said about your relationship.

“I mean, it is probably the funniest story we told, Chris was more animated than he’d been in a long time.” Matt said, liking the Tiktok and locking his phone. With his hands free, he traced mindless designs on your arm with his fingertips, and ran his other hand through your hair.

You hummed and closed your eyes, completely relaxing onto the couch. “I saw one the other day, and it was a gag counter. I think Chris hit like thirty before the end of the pod.” Matt said, a huff of air leaving your nose as you grinned and looked up at him.

“There’s no way it was less than fifty, it was ridiculous.” You said, Matt laughing softly above you and shrugging his shoulders.

“Not my problem we make him sick.”

can you please do a snake jay X reader basically you know the episode once bitten twice shy well in this jay is parliamentary a serpentine it's been over a month so everyone is used to it but jay is still a bit nervous and anxious about it so the reader help him both jay and the reader just cuddling and other fluff stuff and jay is just happy to have the reader as his girlfriend (the reader and jay are already dating this takes place a few month after the episode so everyone is used to jay being a serpentine only jay and the reader are in this)

Ninjago - Comforting Part-Serpentine Jay

Jay had been staring at the full-body mirror for five minutes straight now. Occasionally he would reach and touch the glass or poke at his fangs or run a hand over his scaly skin, but for the most part he was just staring silently at his reflection. 

You knew that he had a habit of ruminating, which always made his anxiety worse. You weren’t going to let him do this to himself.

You put your book down, furrowing your eyebrows. “Jay,” you called, frowning at his complete lack of response. It was as if you weren’t even there.

“Jay,” you said again, more firmly this time.

“Hm?” He replied after a moment of silence. You could tell he wasn’t really paying attention to you.

Standing up, you made your way across the room. You stood behind Jay, looking into the mirror with him now. You looked at his eyes’ reflection, gently placing your hand on his shoulder as he raised his gaze to meet yours. He gave a small smile, but the disturbed look in his eyes gave him away. It was a look you could recognize a mile away; he was anxious about something. No doubt about it.

You placed your chin atop your hand on his shoulder, pressing your cheek against his. “What’s wrong, baby?” 

Jay lowered his gaze again, watching his hands fidget where they were clasped at his abdomen. He opened his mouth. Closed it. Let a long breath out through his nostrils.

“I look sscary,” he said finally, “like a ssnake.”

“Well, you are part serpentine now,” you hummed casually. You were used to it by now. The others were, too. It was just a fact of life that you had all learned to accept; except Jay, apparently, you realized with a saddened heart.

“People are going to be sscared of me when I try to help them. They’ll think I’m… I’m one of…”

You didn’t let him finish the thought. “People don’t do that anymore, remember? When was the last time someone tried to fight back when you helped them?”

“An old man hit me with hiss walker.”

You suppressed a snort at the memory. Instead, you smiled gently. “That was two weeks ago. Haven’t you noticed that people aren’t scared of you anymore? Just on our last mission, no one batted an eye, even when you took off your mask. Word’s spread that you’re part serpentine; people know this. They aren’t scared of the serpent-ninja.”

Jay’s brows shifted as he thought. You could see his expression soften a little as your words resonated in his head, but there was still doubt. 

“What about the oness who don’t know?”

“Some rock they’d have to be living under. Maybe they’re serpents themselves!” You grinned at the little smirk you got from him. “If they try anything, I’ll beat ‘em up for ya.”

Jay snorted, turning to face you. Still smiling, he planted a quick kiss on your forehead. “Thanks. I’ll hold you to that, you know.”

“You better. No one gets to be mean to my boyfriend for being different.” Then, pecking his face between each word, you added: “Especially (kiss) when (kiss) he (kiss) looks (kiss) so (kiss) cute!”

Jay chuckled, trying to push your face away to no avail. “Okay, okay, enough!”

Things escalated quickly into a play-fight, which ended with you both on the floor, giving up only because your laughter drained your energy. 

You clung to Jay’s side, wrapping your arms around his waist, burying your face in the crook of his shoulder in an attempt to muffle your own giggles. He wrapped his arm around you, his hand resting on the small of your back. Your bodies gradually eased from convulsing laughter to more steady breaths, synchronized perfectly with one another.

Your laughter long gone but your smile still lingering on your lips, you looked up at him. He looked back at you with pure joy in his eyes; no trace of the worry that had plagued him a mere few minutes ago. Now you really beamed. There were few better feelings for you than knowing you had helped your worrywort boyfriend be just a little less anxious. 

You were willing to be patient, listen to him, offer as much reassurance and comfort as he needed. That was why he loved you so immensely. You were the ice pack to his headache, a headache that few people had patience for. But you were special. You, and only you, were the one for him.

“I’m sso glad you’re my girlfriend.”

The Freak and the Jedi (Eddie Munson x female!Henderson!reader)

Prologue

Words: 759 Warnings: break up angst, mentions of Will's disappearance, and Barb's death. A/N: welcome to the mind of a stranger things fan who refuses to accept eddie munson is dead. this prologue is set during season 1, episode 8 (The Bathtub), right after El finds Will and Barb on the Upside Down. reader is Dustin's older sister.

Hawkins Middle School, 1983

“Hey, it’s me,” I looked down at my dirty shoes, kicking the dirt around. “Sorry I’m calling now, a few things came up at home,” I closed my eyes, silently exhaling away from the phone.

“Everything alright? I can come over,” his voice was breathy, quiet. Anxious.

I shook my head quickly. “No, no, it’s fine,” tears were slowly gathering in my eyes. "I'm not even home right now."

“I can tell it’s not. Did I do something wrong? Where are you?” I could feel his lips trembling, even from the distance. Very few people knew him with his guard down, and he was about to lose one of them.

“No, Eddie, you did nothing wrong, you’ve done everything right,” I braced myself. “I just… I don’t think we should see each other anymore.”

Eddie was silent for a few minutes. I was covering my mouth with my hand, preventing loud sobs from escaping. My head and my heart were both hurting, aching for the boy on the other line. I knew I was doing the right thing, protecting him. But I couldn't ignore the hollow feeling in my chest as I thought about life without him.

“But why? Baby please, tell me what’s wrong,” Eddie cried. His room was silent, the only sound coming from his voice. The silence hurt even more. I wished I could've held him, just one last time.

I looked up at the night sky, the stars bright and mocking at my despair. I could hear Hopper calling for Joyce on the other side of the building, driving off in his truck in search of Will. Nancy had run away from the gym as soon as El had delivered the news about Barb. I had been worried sick every day for Dustin, wondering what would be of us if he also disappeared. Even though I had seen things that were impossible, I could only think back to the night Will was taken, wondering where I'd be, what I'd have done, had Dustin been the one gone. I couldn’t let Eddie be the next.

“Listen, Eddie, so many things are happening right now,” it felt good not to lie, at least partially. “I need to take care of my brother, I have to be there for them,” tears fell freely from my eyes. “And you have your own issues too, with your dad and your uncle... this is just too much for us right now, we're only kids,” I was gasping for air, my brain fighting with my heart. “I hope you can understand it. And I really hope you don’t hate me for it either.”

Eddie didn’t respond for a couple of seconds. I was waiting for the call to end. 

“I could never hate you,” was his only response. I knew there was more he wanted to say, but the longer I heard his voice, the longer I wanted to keep the conversation going, and I couldn’t afford that. It was now or never.

“I love you, Eddie,” I sobbed, my grip on the phone becoming weaker. It kept slipping from my fingers, the pain coming in waves through my chest. I was violently shaking in place and it wasn’t due to the cold. 

“I know,” with that, he ended the call.

I stood there, my hands gripping the phone booth’s panels as I cried. I was suddenly rethinking all my life choices, wondering if I had made the right decision. Flashbacks of all the time spent together flooded my mind, making me wish for the normal life I always complained about before we were all dragged into this mess. 

And the worst part was, nobody knew about us.

The sudden noise of the school door opening and locking heavily distracted me. I wiped my tears off and walked around the building, finding Nancy and Jonathan about to get into their car, ready to drive away.

“Where are you going?” I called after them. They both turned around in shock.

“To finish what we started,” Nancy had a fierce look on her face, although her eyes softened when she took in my puffy eyes, even despite the lack of light. “Are you okay?” she took a couple of steps towards me, grabbing my arm comfortingly.

I did the same to her, knowing her fury came in seeking revenge for her lost friend. “I’ve been better. Are you alright?” I asked her in return.

She shook her head slightly. “I’ll be once this is over,” she said. “Let’s go,” she gripped my arm and walked me towards an impatiently waiting Jonathan, who was ready to protest. “We need as many hands as we can get,” she said as she opened the door, quickly getting inside the car and buckling herself up. 

Jonathan cursed and hopped into the driver’s seat. “What about the kids?” he asked as he put the key into the ignition.

A pang went through my chest at the thought of them, sitting alone at the gym, but knowing they would be safe there as we dealt with the Demogorgon ourselves, I shrugged. “They’ll be fine. They have Eleven.”

Needless to say, I was wrong.

In the first half of 2022, 759 episodes of “no-camp” conflicts were recorded in Brazil, involving 113,654 families. These episodes correspond to 601 cases of land conflicts, 105 cases of conflicts over water, 42 cases of conflicts for work reasons (41 cases of slave labor and 1 case of exploitation), 10 cases of conflicts in the period of drought and 1 conflict in the mining area. The data collected and disseminated as usual by the Pastoral Land Commission (CPT) through the Dom Tomás Balduino Documentation Center, also reveal that more than half of the total conflicts recorded in the period took place in the Amazon.

Another particularly worrying figure is that of murders: in 2022, so far, the CPT has recorded 33 murders, 25 of which in the first half of the year alone. Compared to the first half of 2021, the total increase in the number of homicides is 150%, with the rate of 30.30% of homicides recorded this year related to firearms, the highest percentage since 2018. After the peak in 2020, when 60% of the murders were linked to the invasion of the territories, in 2022 this percentage is 16%. Of the 158 territories in which there were murders between 2016 and 2022, in at least 46% of the cases there was some firefight in the same period. Additionally, nearly a quarter of the recorded killings occurred in territories threatened with judicial eviction.

I know we're supposed to believe that once a character is off Grey's Anatomy, he stops interacting with the other characters, but you can't convince me that April Kepner doesn't regularly talk to Arizona and that they don't do girls weekends in NY or Boston. Or that she doesn't follow Cristina's career and doesn't send her flowers to congratulate her for her professional achievements. And you know she definitely managed to get Alex's address in Kansas and sends him Christmas cards every year. In return, Izzie has added the Averys to her Christmas cards list, and April can gush over how Eli looks just like Alex.

Some Japril headcanons I have

– April's middle name is Elizabeth.

– When they were married, Jackson brought April to a Harper Avery gala, and April impressed Harper, though he never said it.

– When she was back in Moline, April named that pig Jax both because she missed her best friend AND because she was mad at him for not calling.

– Back at Mercy West, it was April who sneaked Catherine Avery in the gallery so she'd be able to watch Jackson's first surgery when they were interns. It was then that their friendship started. She never mentioned it to Jackson.

– April still corresponds with Reed's and Charles' parents and sends them a Christmas card every year, with a quick note. They are not ready to receive the next Christmas card, which features April, Jackson and Harriet in matching pyjamas and equally matching grins.

– Harriet can get almost anything she wants from her dad, because he's a big softie when it comes to her, something that April brings up all the time but not so secretely loves.

Random thoughts about Grey's 18x20

– Catherine making people eulogize her when she's still alive is such a Catherine move. Kinda wish we could have seen April's speech though, I bet it would have been amazing. Also, Harriet on her grandma's lap, looking at her dad is so precious.

– That scene between Amelia and April was so sweet. Sometimes love comes back around <3 I knew it from that line everything was fine.

– From Sarah's interviews I thought we were going to see April in the ER way more. What a shame to put her in charge of the pit only to close the hospital to trauma right away. Liked her scenes with Ben though.

– I knew we weren't going to have lots of japril scenes, but I wish they spent those scenes delving a bit more into what their life in Boston looks like. Let's say they kept that for the spinoff.

– Harriet on a sugar coma in her stroller is a mood. SO PRECIOUS.

– That elevator scene is everything I wanted and more. The fact that as soon as they stepped into the elevator he looked at her and his eyes never left her <3 Man is still whipped. Now let's release the whole scene!

– I'm a little underwhelmed tbh, even though that's mainly because I didn't lower my expectations, but the episode just left me wanting way, way more. The whole damn thing.
