ERCOT Pricing on 8/7/23. It's 7pm, the temp is still over 100 in San Antonio. The map shows individual power centers when the cursor hovers over a dot. Top map is the dot at the top of the blue area. The negative price -211.88 means they can produce, but don't do it. They can't ship it. Bottom map is the little clump right above the blue, that's San Antonio [hence Alamo]. Price is $2063.61 per megawatt hour. Normal price is $45. That's forty five. ERCOT is not able to ship juice fifty miles. And this shows up on CPS Energy billing as Fuel Adjustment and Peak Capacity Charge. Ka ching$

ERCOT is again asking for conservation from 6 to 9a CST Tuesday. Forecasts this morning were seeing a 5GW shortfall at 8a Tuesday but newer forecasts see demand more or less right at seasonal capacity.
