you have seriously no idea the kind of beast you have trifled with asking me this. most of these are specific and kinda complicated because im insane and put deep thought into everything abt samcham but some are just simple and silly. Lets begin

OK SO. i have deep reasoning for almost any of my headcanons because im a stickler for abiding by canon as much as i possibly can no matter how ridiculous the headcanon is. headcanons for ME personally esp with aus and stuff are like "how would this character act in this fucked up situation" rather than coming up with fanon bullshit based on absolutely nothing which just strips characters of their bare essentials which is stupid so yeah. im gonna get the big ones out of the way then get smaller as i go

-i use they/she/he for jin. my hc for their gender and sexuality is kinda hard to describe and idek if theres a label for it but i just phrase it as any gender and no gender at the same time. i think jin doesnt personally view their gender as anything specific and presents mostly neutrally and people just perceive them for what they choose to see. women like seeing jin as a handsome androgynous woman (like a bifauxnen). men like seeing jin as a beautiful man. vice versa. jin has no attachment to such things they just go with the flow and presentation doesnt mean anything profound for them personally other than like. an accessory or something???? idk. i like to see shino and jin as nblw because their story reminds me of something tragic lesbians would do. but tdlr no matter what gender you are being into jin is gay inherently -jin is a virgo, fuu is a libra, and mugen is a scorpio. common traits for virgos include loyalty, practicality, overly critical of self and others, dislikes rudeness and asking for help. they can be closed off and can be misunderstood by others due to this, but they have deep senses of humanity. traits for libras include social, gracious, desire for companionship, in a constant chase for justice and equality, a dislike for comformity and loudmouths. traits for scorpios include resourcefulness, passion, assertiveness, fearless, a dislike for dishonesty, small talk, superficiality. i originally based the specific dates (sept 4th for jin, oct 9th for fuu, and nov 3rd for mugen) based on the number of diamonds in jins mon, the number of letters in 'sunflower' for fuu (sunflower season ends in october!), and the 3 corners of the triangle on the back of mugens happi. EVERYTHING IS INTENTIONAL!!!!! -jin is actually left handed, but such a thing is forbidden for samurai, so jin had to force themself to use their right. you wouldnt know it at first glance but if you saw jins fancy kanji caligraphy using their left hand compared to their uniformed and almost robotically perfect handwriting with their right youd be able to tell what theyre truly most comfortable with -mugen and jin have to bicker about literally everything. like jin will say something and mugen sometimes will actually agree but he’ll say something purposefully contrarian and stupid just to get on jins nerves. it takes hard work to get an actual rise out of them but sometimes just the blank stare or the raised eyebrow is enough to make mugen cackle

-making clean kills is practiced for jin because the feeling of sticky blood and the stench makes them antsy. the night that they stumbled out into the dark after accidentally killing enshirou, itd been everywhere. soaking their clothes, under their nails, on their lips, in their eyelashes and hair. theyd thrown up and wailed hysterically like a wounded animal and then collapsed into an ice cold river to claw it off in panic and nearly drowned from the force of the river waves and the shock of the whole situation and then they just passed out on the bank from exhaustion and didnt wake up for 15 hours

-after the finale, mugen recovers (somehow) from his injuries after 2 weeks. however, this did not account for the chronic pain that sticks with him and worsens in the cold and rain. hed find later that jin, his perfect bird of a feather, gets debilitating migraines and back pain in the cold and rain. they can be in bed and in pain together

-jin doesnt force their meticulous and traditional routines onto mugen so theyll slink out of bed at the ass crack of dawn to do their weird praying and katas and meditation and mugen will sleep until past noon and he'll always complain about them letting him sleep the day away and theyll always just hum in response

-jin can NOT cook for shit but id like to think they work to improve as a way of remembering shino fondly. before meeting her they could brew a mean ass cup of tea and steamed rice. but that was literally it. but now they can make some simple things like clear mushroom soup and dumplings and they intend on expanding

-mugen is a closeted fine arts snob. he thought the shit was flowery and boring before but jin reads their favorite poems and epics to him and theyve furthered his education where sensei bundai left off so they do a lot of poetry writing as exercises. mugen likes haikus a lot. and he likes those weird noh theaters that jin loves. especially the vile ones with the drama and violence and cheating and death and betrayal. jin forces him to go to the romance ones too its just against his will those times

-jin will not let him hit until he has bathed. the first time he propositioned them they threw him in a huge hot bath like an animal and combed through every matted knot in his hair, scrubbed his back and behind his ears, carved the dirt out from under his yellow fingernails with a small knife, forced a wad of mint leaves in his mouth. jin plucks their eyebrows so maybe theyre kind of over the top about it but then mugen considers rinsing himself off in river water bathing so maybe theyre being perfectly reasonable

-they tell each other scar stories and random events that happened before they met each other. theres a lot of observing without words that they both do to get to know each other but they also do a lot of talking. it always happens at night when theyre both kind of tipsy on sake or wine because thats the only time jin feels loosened up enough to not clam up over memories

not to be a lil sensitive but not only do i just think its bad taste to constantly joke abt killing off a 3yr old fictional or not but it also just like. doesnt reflect well on the ccs involved to be doing this like. just so they can upset fans that arent even theirs like. theyre just doing this to make people Uncomfortable and Upset and thats fucked up when we were told that michael wouldnt have this stuff happen to him. theres a difference between sam keeping michael hostage when sams habit of kidnapping michael was already established and something beeduo was aware of and.

sapnap n george constantly getting people into actively threatening him and constantly baiting viewers into believing they killed him off like. for many its funny sure but for a lot of other people its just genuinely upsetting and disappointing esp bc theres a possibility that it messed with other peoples (such as tubbo and ranboo, MICHAELS LITERAL PARENTS) story arcs lmao. rp etiquette is down the gutter w this -🎭🎪

Yeah like I'm not watching this particular stream so I can't testify as to like how far this particular joke went, how quick they dropped it, how clear it was that it's a joke, etc BUT

I feel like it's different for the CCs because they always know their own intent. So when they say they're going to kill him, THEY know it's a joke, and they assume everyone else knows it's a joke. And by now, most of us do know it's a joke! But back when this all first started that really wasn't as clear, y'know?

I feel like esp with upcoming lore they know not to Really put the actual mob in any Real danger but like. Even if we take int account that they're currently acting Out Of Character (which means that this isn't c!Sapnap threatening a child it's Sapnap The CC threatening a Minecraft Mob who belongs to someone else) it's still weird because. Again there are countless pets builds etc on the server that are important but would upset people way less and may EVEN lead to "lore" or something.

Like there are other people on the server who are in way more frequently, and if the point of the joke was to grief or pretend to grief people, you'd think they'd choose a target that 1. Isn't super plot relevant and 2. Is owned by someone who logs on more frequently, y'know?

So like I fully understand that the joke is not "Kill Michael_B", the joke is "SAY we are going to kill him/pretend to kill him while really he is safe." I understand that that is the intent behind the jokes and that they wouldn't actually ruin someone's storyline on purpose.

But the fact that they're STILL singling out this one mob as the one they're going to joke about killing really does make it seem like griefing or killing a pet isn't the punchline at all and the punchline they're actually shooting for is seeing fans get upset. And I know they probably mean it in a lighthearted way, just to see people spam D: or NOOO in chat and such, but it's just Weird that this is a joke they continuously return to, because how many times can you pretend to kill the same mob and watch people for "no don't" before it's not entertaining anymore?

Like I'm sure they don't mean badly and maybe it's some like inside joke between them that we're not in on but I really can't figure out what's funny enough about "I could kill this mob which would cause a poltline to be ruined but I won't but will pretend to do it" for them to do it over and over again (esp because these ccs are so effortlessly funny)

OHHHHHHHH..... shes my favorite character now :) i cherish her so much shes really just.. wow!!!!! im so proud of her and how much growing up shes done!!!!! i was so glad they really REALLY fleshed her out in 3/4 ESPECIALLY 5 beyond like. look! its a kid! tho to be honest she was never really that she has so much personality even just in 1 where shes mostly a damsel :)

Favorite moment - genuinely cant choose i dont think. i liked it when she was like. if you wont look for mom i WILL in 1.. any part where shes defending the other kids at the orphanage... like, all of 5 [excluding the scene where park is teaching her internalized misogyny -_-] like we will be here all day if i keep going

Idea for a story - hmm... im replacing 6 with a game where you play as Just Her and you get to Fight. i think theres a lot you could do with her as a 20yrold protag and like.. her journey after the stuff that happened in 5. i genuinely think it couldve been really interesting for her to have a like.. whats the word for collage students who take a year off the travel. that but like kiryu takes care of the orphanage alone and she goes on an adventure.. idk maybe somethings happened to the t-set girls and she has to help them and its somehow wrapped up in yakuza buisness and they didnt know who else to call but thier cool friend haruka... idk. i just think she shouldve been allowed to hit and punch people. i dont see a world where kiryu wouldnt teach her to fight and thats even if she didnt want to which she CLEARLY would like.. she watches boxing for godsake cmon... that combined w kiryu for a dad and all the danger in her life... First impression - oh boy a woman w not much personality -_-

Impression now - oh boy! woman with personality! shes definitely suffering from rgg-woman-disease where a lot of her stuff is very damsel-y but like she is really fun if you pay attention. it shows especially in how she interacts with saori and yagami and i think its nice that shes on good terms with yagami even tho they dated-broke-up-whatevers-going-on-there. shes very.. paired down i guess is the word? but shes interesting once you pay attention.

Favorite moment - cake trialllllll i really like it :) i think its funny she was immediately like. yes he ate that cake and for this he will die <3 also when she got that info for yagami. genuinely that was so brave of her esp since she clearly looked up to [redacted] like.. bro. that really mustve hurt her to do :(

Idea for a story - maybe a case from her perspective like where the guy is guilty but the case is might fall through because it was based on like one thing that has suddenly stopped holding water (like a witness suddenly disappearing or evidence being stolen or something) so shes gotta do some Detecting very very quickly because the trial is SOON

ohhh friend you have opened a pandoras box and i hope you are ready also thank you aha

so i started…….. picking some lines and made the Executive Decision to just do one fic because i was planning on doing a couple from a handful of fics but turns out im far too prone to waffling about this kind of stuff because i love picking things apart and figuring out why they work because i love fuckign words and the things they evoke and stuff so yeah this is just some fave lines from most recent fic, requital. 

this was part of a ‘directors cut’ writer thing and if anyone has any more prompts, feel more than free to send them my way! 

Requital, Chp. 1: 

His honesty, wrapped tightly underneath a chivalrous act; a throwaway comment to soften the exposure of such a question, draws her closer.

She kisses him, and hopes that even though the motion is countless in the amount of times they’ve come together, that the answer is plain enough. A claim, she hears her own words in her head, tasting the tobacco of his morning cigarette on her tongue, the warmth of the pull at his hands on her hips.

so whilst i cant say this section was directly inspired by the ecdysis book, what i can say is that there is definitely some influence going on here, in particular these two lines from the page ‘synesthesia’:

“Wu Ming is a bonfire in the darkness, and she crawls toward his warmth.”

“Wu Ming leaves his questions by the wayside as he is drawn inexorably into the gravity well of her desperate honesty.” 

and thats not something i realised until i was writing the final draft, and im pretty pleased with myself considering not only is requital going to examine some of the similarities between avia and drifter, but also the fact that ecdysis is probably my favourite book. i mean…… ‘drawn inexorably into the gravity well of her desperate honesty’ what the FUCK KIND OF LINE its gorgeous i cant deal with it or this book or this page or how desperately gorgeous the tragedy of drifter and orins relationship is 

also…… look. im a hopeless romantic. always have been, probs always will be, so when i say avia and rook are soulmates i mean it in the cheesiest way possible. right before this is rook feeling a bit self-conscious about the whole awoken engaging thing, and theres no way avia can actually put into words how irrevocably in love she is with rook. so she kisses him, and hopes beyond hope that she can put those feelings into motions if not words. i also enjoy the small bit of possessiveness that came out of her too, because the whole ‘claim’ thing with the awoken was there since the first draft but this section came in the final edit, she thinks of it so casually but when she goes on to say that she’d actually duel anyone who came between them i…….. would not put it past her to be 100% down to do that. 

rook isnt a bonfire in the darkness, he’s an anchor in the deep, a solid tether when the sea becomes a storm.

Requital Chp. 2:

Here’s the thing, if you’ve gone through the trouble of decrypting this (a fortified certain-eyes-only encryption that took me a couple of hundred years to perfect, thank you very much), it at least means you’re interested, so hear me out.

i like this line a lot, for a few reasons. drifter knows avia well enough at this point to be well acquainted with her temper and lack of time for dealing with his nonsense. it’s the first flick of the coin between the two of them, drifter laying the proverbial gauntlet down and at the end of the day, its up to her whether or not she picks it up. 

and she does, avia asks levi to decrypt it, and the first thing she sees is drifter acknowledging that shes done so and asking her to at least hear him out. he’s kind of caught her out, and she can respect that even if thats not at the forefront of her mind. avia also has her own brand of curiosity when it comes to people like the drifter, so this is kind of the first inkling of that. and it also (i hope) makes you wonder if drifter is aware of that curiosity that she has, if he sent the message decrypted on purpose to get her interested. 

She smiles at the note, throws her legs over the bed and stretches around a yawn. Five minutes later, Levi puts her in her armour.

“Are you sure you don’t want to stick around?” The Ghost asks. “We don’t have anything urgent to do. There’s breakfast here.”

Avia hums, considering. She moves into the kitchen, glances over the fridge, the cupboards. She looks then onto the sofa, the sprawled pillows, untidy blankets. Suddenly the armour on her body feels heavy, out of place, like the metal has no right being somewhere like this.

“No. I’m not hungry, let’s go.”

“Okay,” Levi says in that tone of voice that lets her know they aren’t buying it. “Should we walk, or transmat?”

Avia notices the balcony door is still open. She walks over and closes it, the streets barely alive as one or two civilians walk to and fro, glancing idly at each other as they pass. “Transmat.”

avia immediately makes an comment about being all domestic with rook in chapter 1. its just not something that suits her in her own mind, and that line (even though i havent waffled about it bc dear god theres too much here already) was something i immediately knew i wanted if i was going to write a day of domestic bliss with her and her fiance, because i knew it’d be a hard thing for her to just get on with like a normal person aha. 

so, we get this part in chapter 2. the domestic bliss is over, and what avia knows best, what shes always known best, is a set of armour and getting back to work. however this part of herself contradicts that which she’s experienced for the past day, and especially the line ‘Suddenly the armour on her body feels heavy, out of place, like the metal has no right being somewhere like this.’ i put in to really reinforce that idea. its not the metal that feels out of place in this scene, its the person in the metal. and her eagerness to transmat straight to the tower rather than walk through the peaceful city streets shows her tendency to run from such thoughts.

this part came really naturally, actually. its a small snapshot into a bigger struggle avia has with herself (especially given the dreaming city, the reef, petra and now potentially going back to the worst part of the shore with drifter) of where she belongs, and more importantly, if she deserves to belong. which is why levi talks to her in that tone because they know what shes doing, theyve seen it so many times before – avia in a scenario that resembles something normal and running from it with no one around to stop her, because in her subconscious she doesnt believe she deserves it. 

“Ada-1, I believe, has fully settled into the Tower. She becomes more and more tolerable of the Guardians by the day. And with the discovery of Niobe labs, her mood has been favourable.”

i had no idea how fun scarlet was to write until i got to this part. she almost has her own language, really. writing ‘im really proud of ada because i spent all morning with her and she was only snippy with like two guardians and shes been really uplifted and im really happy for her since they found niobe labs’ in scarlets own ‘okay but heres the relevant information’ way of explaining things is a challenge but FUN. like, really fun?? 

because scarlet wouldnt be mentioning adas mood if she didnt care, ya know? and its not that she cant say that longer thing about being proud and stuff, its just that she doesnt see the sense in it and its not important information. like, if avia and eden were to spend a dedicated amount of time whittling her down she would absolutely say ‘i am so proud of ada and also i wanna smooch her face how do i do that as an exo’ but its just not a thing for her. but part of the reason why ada and scarlet being together was an idea that i had was because i imagine that line of thinking probably suits ada. 

“It was at Ada’s request. I had more knowledge of the area in its current state, and felt more comfortable talking to Ikora and her Hidden agents than Ada did…”

supportive exo girlfriends. that is all. man ive gotta write more about these two

“Hmm,” Ada wears a concerned stare masked behind a formal rigidity that Avia knows her Warlock teammate best for.

if im being honest, i just really enjoy this line. i imagine its hard for exos to show concern, esp a character like ada and my girl scarlet, so avia has spent a lot of time dissecting certain facial cues and yeah im proud of how this description came out aha

…as if she hadn’t spent the past few months clipping sidelong comments and threatening him when his Gambit veered out of the realm of her control.

avia is a control freak. plain and simple, and i wanted to make that as obvious as possible considering this sentence is only a few away from avia choosing to go and talk to drifter. 

there’s a certain amount of ‘i need to understand this thing that i have limited knowledge on so i can predict/control/plan for it in the future’ in how avia views drifter in general, its a kind-of warlock way of thinking about things but the big difference is avias need for control in these situations is a) selfish and b) only applies to things that she knows she has a good chance of understanding/taming. shes not going around learning about the hive because she has a good understanding that thats a cosmic threat that can only be defended against until it comes. drifter on the other hand is on her doorstep.

i also really loved the contradiction in putting ‘gambit’ and ‘control’ next to each other in a sentence, i kinda hoped it showed how conflicted avia is about going and talking to drifter, and maybe even how naive it is of her to think that it could turn out okay. 

She was incensed, maybe, at the way he spoke to Ada, needed to go and stomp the idea out of his head but he got her talking, like he does

i like this line bc its avia acknowledging that she knows how shes viewed. she knows everyone sees her as a hot-head, she knows her anger veers away from her sometimes and whilst she’s gotten better at getting a handle on it, it’s still an aspect of her that people who dont know her well enough find it hard to get past. 

i also enjoy how new people to this fic/avia in general might not know that this is a big part of her? so she’s trying to use it as an excuse, ‘well no one can blame me if i say i got really mad because thats what i do’ and it (hopefully) tells new people about that aspect of her character without having to show the worst part of it, the convo with ada being an introduction to it i guess – especially since the past few scenes have seen her a lot softer than im used to writing aha. 

“Dammit,” she mutters under her breath. And walks towards the Drifter before she can make a better decision

fun fact – this line was originally ‘and walks down the corridor before she can make a better decision.’ 

i changed it because i wanted to make it more obvious that avia is making a conscious decision to choose drifter, that she’s walking towards a path that she knows is not a good idea. it provides foreshadowing for the allegiance quest and referring to him as ‘The Drifter’ cements it as an idea that she’s walking towards and not necessarily a person.

azula is a villain yea but shes. widely misunderstood by the fandom. she suffered from bad parenting as much as zuko

n yeah a lot of that is due to how zuko portrays her but i. honestly don’t blame him?

so like. u have an abusive father right. he like. idolizes ur younger sister. who is better than you. ur constantly put down by ur father bc ur Not As Good TM

a lot of ppl say that zuko didnt put in as much work as azula. she’s not a prodigy, that she worked hard for what she has. which very well is true in their later years

but also when he was ‘happy’ and they were children, you could see how hard he was working. i don’t blame him for just. giving up after he was banished. he got easily frustrated. relied on his short fuse and anger for power. it’s stated that much

then there’s a whole other issue abt how he . took advantage of azula’s breakdown when they had the agni kai? but? she was literally... helping their father... he didn’t hurt her. he just. captured her. he took no pleasure in it. he just saw it as smth he had to do

n then there’s the fucking comics. do NOT get me started on the comics. ableist af. out of character AF. i doubt it was by the same writers. honestly. don’t consider them canon. i mean they are but . it’s just like the drama that happened bc of aang ‘neglecting’ his kids. it’s just bad writing.

it’s a fictional character meant to portray a plot point or idea. if they realized how bad the implications of him neglecting his children were they wouldnt have done it. but they wanted drama. the ‘real aang XDDD’ wouldnt have done it. just like the real zuko wouldnt have been so nasty to azula

it’s extremely distasteful and OOC that he kept azula in prison throughout the comics but honestly. i doubt she wouldve listened to him if he tried to get her to be peaceful. i wouldnt blame her after her own brother betrayed her but, she has a lot of pride. very strong belief in her actions and contempt for him. also just went through a breakdown.

ok now. onto azula

i love azula so fucking much like. beyond words. but. saying she’d?? be a better ruler  is ????? you can be a good character... n be a horrible pick to take position of power.

she took well to power but she also didnt treat the ppl under her well at all esp after she got betrayed. like i doubt.. she could trust a council. maybe if ty lee and mai hadn’t pulled that shit but

now that’s also to say, you can be a good person and a bad ruler, and a bad person and a good ruler.

however in her case... she didnt get real love from her only genuine parent. the parent who favored her was using her. she had mental illnesses and many betrayals. she took power to her head

so anyways back to like. how ppl say it’s zuko’s fault that the fandom demonizes azula

azula is still a villain no matter how much she’s been manipulated by her father. she acts on her own accord even as a child

ppl criticize zuko for being like ‘azula always lies’ but i dont even necessarily he was seeing it as like. oh my sister sucks like. oh azula just plays tricks on me thats what she does haha its a PRANK BRO. not to mention, a lot of the things zuko blames azula for, ozai himself planted into his head? such as, ‘she was born lucky. i’m lucky to be born.’ he didn’t come up with that. his father said it.

i’m getting super fucking off topic but AGAIN back to defending azula, to deal with neglect a lot of ppl pretend they just. didnt care in the first place. if she was idolized and put on a pedestal by her father ofc she’d favor him. if she was always scolded and looked down on her mother for how she picked up fire nation ideals ofc she’d come to resent her in turn

ofc she’d act mischevious n act more and more like her father in order to both please him and spite her mother

i can also see why a moping and bitter zuko who lashes out at the person who cares abt him grates on people’s nerves as opposed to azula, who always takes initiative and is straightforward, who has a compelling character and arc. but i also see both as very real survivor stories, even if both are extreme

zuko is far from fucking perfect. he did blame things on azula that weren’t her fault. he did lash out at iroh. but she also did some bad shit. despite being redeemable (and why the fuck didnt they redeem her! lmao!) she still did things.

n people act like zuko was redeemed so easily and all was forgiven so fast when... that’s not the case?
