If we were to compare universes to straight lines, we would have to accept Euclid's sad theorem in which he states "Two parallel lines never meet." Surely Isak and Robbe would be the first to cry out loud, "Simple! Just drop Euclid and you're done," demonstrating that the geometry of life is decidedly non-Euclidean.
What happens then, if in one of these universes two boys randomly meet, fall in love, and can no longer live without each other? Just like it happened to Isak and Even in their Oslo universe, and to Robbe and Sander in their Antwerp universe.
Two parallel universes, four parallel lives, meet and can exchange rescue, affection and salvation. We have the opportunity to turn our lives into oases of hope, where we no longer feel alone, where we can share the joys but also the hardships because there are others who experience and understand us, and are willing to give us that therapeutic and regenerating embrace that will make us feel part of a much larger universe than the one we thought we lived in.
