Why choose to be good every day if there is no guaranteed reward we can count on, now or in the afterlife? I argue that we choose to be good because of our bonds with other people and our innate desire to treat them with dignity. Simply put, we are not in this alone.

R: "Is that your dad?"
S: "Um. My mum told me. I tried to search for more info on him and found out he is a musician here."
R: "You come here regularly but you never talked to him. Why do you come then?"
S: "I have no idea. It's like I see some parts of me in him."
R: "Like the music part?"
S: "Um. And we are both romantic. Look at the way he plays."
R: "Sand. He's coming this way. If you dare tell him, I'll go to rehab for you. Do you have the guts?"
S: "Hi, sir."
Su: "Hey, guys."
S: "You play so well. I'm a big fan."
Su: "Thank you."
R: "My name is Ray. And this is my friend Sand. He told me a lot about you so I came to see you play with my own eyes."
Su: "I'm flattered. My name is Sun. Enjoy your night. Will you excuse me?"
S: "Sir."
Su: "Yes? I've got something to tell you. The truth is..."
R: "My friend wants to learn how to play saxophone with you."
Su: "In that case, you must come in the daytime. I can teach you then."
S: "Yes, sir."
Su: "Bye now."
S: "Thank you so much. Why did you interrupt me? I was about to tell him like you asked."
R: "I could see that you were brave enough to do it. Tell him or not, I'll leave it to your own discretion. Shouldn't be forced by me."
S: "So does this mean you're still going to rehab?"
R: "Um. Yes. For you."
S: "Not for me. For yourself."
R: "Then this will be the last glass before I change to the new Ray. Cheers."
You again? What happened in the past was just a coincidence. I was just delivering pizza. What about the running race? Well, I'm worried about those who aren't athletes and want to compete. Seriously?
