i am so in love with how you draw fabric! all the colors! it’s stunning. would you be willing to share some of your process?

Of course!! :]

First off, start with a flat color (we're going with yellow), and then using a slightly more saturated and darker color, make a gradient on your clothing going from the bottom up. I prefer to use the Tamar painting brush in procreate for this!

Next, take a pencil brush (or whatever brush you prefer, I used the 6B pencil in procreate) and using that same darker color, block in your darkest areas. Don't worry about being perfect! Take another more saturated color, this time only Slightly darker than your base, and block in the rest of your shaded areas. This will give you clothing item more depth! Be sure that you know what direction your lighting is coming from!

Now, we neaten things up! Use a blending brush (I use the Stucco paint brush) to soften the edges of areas where the lighting is softer, and take your pencil brush and neaten up any areas you would like. This can also involve adding lighter spots like I did, using the base color in the gradient area.

Now into reflective lighting! This is assuming that the clothing is reflecting light from objects around it. If it isn't, you can really just add a bit of warm blue, and be done with this step. If it is, take some warm blue and, using a textured brush (Tamar brush for me), lightly brush it over your main shaded areas! I am going to demonstrate reflective lighting with a more intense lighting, so if you're looking for that, take a brighter, highly saturated color and place it on the Edges of your darkest shading spots. With clothing, if it is thin enough, light will pass through to shaded areas, casting a more warm and satured hue.

For the actual brighter light, make another layer above your color layer and turn it to an Add/Addition layer. Using your base clothing color and a textured brush (Tamar) just lightly go over the spots that get the most light! It will seem very bright, so turn the opacity for that layer down to 35%, or adjust it however you like!

Huh! You know what! I think you are right and you should say it louder. To be fair I think he has other insecurities as well (and honestly all of them do. Raph, Leo, Donnie. But it's not about them rn).

In Poland we say "it's darkest under the lamppost", which means the most obvious things are hardest to spot. Mikey is perceptive to others emotions but kinda blind to his own until someone points something out. Like

"Mike, why do you keep flying on that board."

To be fair I think the height insecurity easily relates to his other fears. He is the youngest, the smallest. He isn't as smart as Donnie and often says things others find annoying. He doesn't have "a great burden of leadership" like Leo, isn't the big protector like Raph. He is the silly one. He just wants his family together and have fun with them. Be with them. But he sometimes feels worse than them. Smaller than them in both height and purpose.

Maybe it was a mission that went wrong. While the other brothers were trying to run damage control Mikey didn't know what to do? His brothers' backs now so much taller and competent than his own.

I think first to notice something would be April. She is the most inquisitive - pros of being darn good reporter.

She notices how Mikey isn't cracking as many jokes as before. He spends a lot more time up in the pipes, not even flying around just sitting above everyone.

Mikey has always been an open book. He wears his heart and thoughts on his sleeve like 90% of the time. So a gentle push and a smile is all it takes for him to spill his guts and worries to her. Plus, how can he say no to April, his favourite human.

He wished to be taller, like Donnie. He could reach further, maybe go faster. Prevent bad things from happening. Help people better.

April reassures him or tries to and just hopes to get him to talk to his brothers. She promises she would be there with him to provide support. He's also her friend.

So she gets them all together. She gives Mikey the stage and he starts talking. Probably too much because now he's crying and the brothers just group hug him and just remind him of all the times he saved their hides. Yeah he's wild but being their wild card is good. He's so artistic, great at music and what's important he has so much compassion for others and emotions are so easy for him. Being the heart of the family doesn't make him less important. Without him the family is out of whack.

Raph probably remind him how being shorted than him has it perks because Raph can't get through narrow and tight spaces like Mikey can. And he's not as fast as Mikey.

Family isn't being uniform unit. It's their differences that make everyone work so well together - Splinter reminds them to cherish who they are and build each other up because of the differences not inspite of them.

Then Raph grabs Mikey and sits him on his shoulders. He wants to be taller? Then big bro can carry him around.

Special pizza delivery that night ;)

For the WIP game- happy ten years? 🥰

here you go!! <3 this is actually part of a little thing i’ve been writing for one of my d&d characters as something that happened during the years prior to the start of the campaign/her meeting everyone else!

(for context: this is a campaign set in the wild west, and she is a vampire who works as a bounty hunter as a way to make money and stay fed)

The barren, dusty ground beneath her had turned the color of dry terracotta in the low light of the dying fire, littered with tiny pebbles and anthills casting mountainous shadows that raced to join the ever-encroaching darkness already swallowing most of the land. She sat at the edge of the fire’s glow, legs pulled up to her chest as she rested her chin on her knees. The orange-red dirt was clinging to her all black attire, possibly even staining parts of it, but that was fine. She couldn’t bring herself to really care about it right now. Clothes could be washed, or even discarded if necessary, and a little dirt never really hurt anyone anyway.

To her left sat her pack, collecting a similar amount of dust. On top of that lay her hat, with the edges of its veil fluttering lazily in the chilled winds that carried the rather potent scent of smoke and char currently overpowering the usual smell of the desert’s fading autumn.

To her right sat a man whose face she had only seen on wanted posters before this evening, his mildly content expression completely vacant of any real sense of self as he stared into the shuddering flame in front of him. He was entirely silent, save for the even drawing of breath, and that was good. Seraphina had told him not to say a word unless specifically asked a question, and it was nice to see that her Charm was showing no sign of wavering.

Even if she hadn’t really wanted to use it in the first place. But sometimes things happen, and one must do what they must.

In one of the first lessons of the game, it is mentioned that the dance battles are stand-ins for MC's special tasks throughout the year and that some demons have tasks relating to trying to corrupt MC.

Maybe Barbatos is tasked as a potential corruptor and is trying to seduce MC so that they fall easier?

While his actions are fully behind Diavolo, he is a traditionalist so he might internally view MC as a pet rather than a person. While MC is cute, as a human their main purpose is to serve demons either as food or as a pawn.

He would probably be more comfortable viewing his relationship with MC through the lens of predator and prey, as things have always been. Not to mention, the only person he is confirmed to have a pact with has canonically not considered demons to be friends prior to meeting MC, so the idea of humans and demons genuinely caring about each other probably feels unnatural to him (the exchange program was never intended to "make friends" with the other worlds, only to understand them better - not even Diavolo expected it to go as well as it did).

Now that we are in... I think it's Season 4? They are starting to tease Barbatos as a love interest (an incident where MC makes him blush, and another where MC accidentally puts him under a love spell - which is the kind of shenanigans the Devs make the brothers suffer after they start crushing on MC), which is concurrent with other anti-human/angel demons like Mephisto coming around to the idea that not being a demon doesn't make someone lesser/bad.

It would make sense if his perspective was beginning to change, so future Devilgrams might feel more sincere since there will (hopefully) be some evidence of his feelings in the main story.

I completely forgot about this lesson, so much that I didn't think that dance battles were somehow part of the plot but a disconnected tool to progress in the game.

This gives me a completely new perspective on the dance battle interactions. It would be interesting to look further in, I think that Belphie too in the beginning might have been one of those demons seen how he tricked MC and didn’t exactly have a liking for humans in general. Now I would like to know all the characters that have/had this task. 

THIS is why Barbatos is scary. I really like this interpretation because it makes his character even more eerie. MC thinks they’re safe in the Demon Lord’s castle as they know they’re important for the exchange program, not aware that Barbatos sees them as a disposable object only temporary useful. It would take a great deal for Barbatos to recognize their worth. If there’s ever a chance for that to happen. Even if MC becomes a sorcerer as powerful as Solomon that doesn’t guarantee that he’d view them as equals or even a friend. In most movies even the humans that demons forge pacts with are expendable and usually end up dying if they get on the demon’s nerves or they simply stop being useful to their purposes. I feel that Barbatos would fit in this narrative.

Another thing that surprised me is when Diavolo revealed the reason why Barbatos became his butler. I thought it happened under more pressing conditions, like some kind of blackmailing regarding something more personal to Barbatos, not the wellbeing of the Devildom. I don’t know why but I find it odd for a demon to be so dutiful (Lucifer doesn’t count, I mean yes that’s part of his character, but it can’t be forgotten that he also is in debt to Diavolo and Barbatos isn’t).

I’m excited to see it, I just began season 4, the part where they tease the brothers for their feelings is my favorite one, even more than when something actually happens, that’s why I like the scenes with Mammon so much. It seems that they mean to go down that road, it does make sense that he’s one of the last to “fall” for MC given his characterization. I didn’t even expect for Diavolo to become a love interest “so soon”. If we follow this idea of Barbatos you just outlined it will be very conflicting for him to go from “demons don’t fall in love with their food” to “hear me out...maybe only this one”.

7.what animal do you look forward to seeing when you visit an aquarium?

Hmm, i have never been to aquarium but I have been to an africanarium in Wrocław. Awesome place. I loved the crocodiles, the seals and the fish. Their aquatic life section was gorgeous. I loved the sharks, manta rays just swimming over your head. The turtles. I think when I go to place like this I am there for an experience and ambiance?

I detest it with my soul. At least I did the last time I had it. It's been few years but I just can't mash the flavours in my brain. Like mint and chocolate or sweet and salty (who tf came up with the idea of salted caramel, I just wanna talk *cocks a shotgun*)

Oh! The new student - greetings! Yes, I do both woodcarving and pokeball crafting. I also dabble in other hisuian crafting methods, a bit of painting and sketching, and technically know how to sew - just enough to mend most things, admittedly.
