thinking about marcille treating falin like a kid even tho thats a woman in her 20s and like... elven tendencies to treat everyone from short-lived races as children aside, marcille probably just has no idea how she's supposed to treat anyone.

elven age of maturity is 80, and if we keep in mind tallmen's is 16, that means 80 is probably still on the younger side for our modern standards. marcille is 50 so to elves she'd be like 10, but obviously she's an adult so she mustve aged impossibly fast (at a human rate from ages 41 to 50, since it sounds like she grew alongside falin?), and has no way of figuring out how old she is compared to anyone else, even though she grew up surrounded by people from short-lived races (which would probably give a regular elf at least a general idea)

Also my biggest takeaway from bingeing Malevolent and Dungeon Meshi pretty close together is that Arthur really needs a Senshi around to convince him to actually eat and sleep occasionally. Something something the party beat their mad magician because they were well fed and rested while Arthur and John got tied to a table by their magic user. Didn't even think to make a giant curry to distract the hag.

some people fixating on specifically marcille as being "the racist" is... a bit weird to me considering that the majority of the cast have said/done/exhibited something indicative of passive or active racial prejudice or ignorance at one point or another. and that is a very deliberate feature of the storytelling.

I love how Sailor Saturn's spirit protects young Hotaru in the Infinity / Death Busters arc, Dream / Eternal arc, and Stars arc (90's). Like you can see how deadly Saturn is against foes that dare try to harm Hotaru.

i feel very frustrated about the trend of giving chil body hair bc if it was any other anime twink i would be thrilled its just that it seems to only be because people are SO afraid of him looking young they have to make him hairy to justify liking him in ships.

meanwhile it does directly go against canon (he literally is supposed to look like a child. this is integral to both his character and his race's lore as a whole and it makes no damn sense that he would be mistaken for a child if he has body hair i mean. cmon.)

and it's like. some men are hairless. some men look young. when youre a trans man in your 20s-30s its especially common to be mistaken for a teenager, even more so if you're not on t. and short. these traits do not make you less of a man or an adult. :/
