We joke about the opposite of same-face syndrome being “I for my life cannot make this character look consistent” but I am running into that again and it is......so weird.

Like I’ve had most of my Pokemon OCs for longer than I’ve known most of my current friends, but I don’t know what the fuck most of these characters look like. I’m lucky if I have one solid reference drawing for each of them -- I know I don’t -- but even that’s not enough that if I sit down, I’m like, shit, what do her facial features look like, what shape is her nose, her face, I don’t know because I created these characters when I only knew how to draw Anime Face(TM) and I distinguished everyone by hair and clothes.

#i can MAYBE get glynis storm rowena and silver without checking back to a reference #and sometimes angel. but her nose is a little weird in how i differentiate it from silv/ro so even that is. eh.#there are elementary school children younger than these characters. and i don't know what they FUCKING LOOK LIKE #i think i need to pick one chara a week and do a few with ref drawings and then just make it my mission to doodle them a lot #and then maybe for some of them i'll be able to land on what i want them to look like #even w my bioware kids who have image references some things still change a lil as i draw #so i know the one solid reference drawings i have are still......probably not what they'll look like if i had the time to figure it out #i don't draw these kiddos enough but there's so many of them i can never decide who to draw #i don't want to play favorites but i ABSOLUTELY play favorites #and the sinnoh girls are the favorites
