人形のまち岩槻に新イベント！

お人形のまち「岩槻」で、新しいイベントが！6月15日「ワッツ ストリートマルシェ」へいってきました。

毎月第3土曜日に岩槻駅前で賑わいをみせる「WATSUストリートマルシェ」。

主催は岩槻駅前ワッツ専門店会です。

「岩槻Jazz」が音楽ステージを担当し、「肉まつり」「スイーツフェス」「音楽祭」など毎月テーマをかえて開催しています。

6月のテーマは「緑あふれる収穫祭」！レポートします☆

London Super Comic Con 2017 op 25, 26 en 27 augustus

Na een pauze van anderhalf jaar, keerde London Super Comic Con (LSCC) weer terug naar Londen. Met een nieuwe datum, een extra dag en een nieuwe locatie kwamen veel fans terug naar de conventie.  

Concurrentie Vorig jaar werd LSCC georganiseerd in februari. Het leek er eerst op dat dit jaar over zou worden geslagen, maar toen werd de datum van afgelopen weekend in augustus bekend gemaakt. Een weekend met een vrije maandag aan het eind, hierdoor had de conventie veel concurrentie van andere evenementen (o.a. Notting Hill Carnival en Bournemouth Comic Con) en mensen die een weekend weg gaan. Dit was te merken, het was vrij rustig, zelfs op de zaterdag was het rustig op de con vloer. Veel bezoekers zeiden dat ze de datum in februari fijner vonden en hopen dat de conventie terug gaat naar die datum. Ook werd er gezegd dat de conventie met deze grote prima terug kan naar twee dagen in plaats van de drie dit jaar.  

Ook is de conventie verhuist van de grote conventiehal ExCel naar het Business Design Centre in Angel. Hierover waren mensen erg positief. Afgezien van het feit dat het door de zonnige dag erg warm was op sommige plekken binnen, het gebouw heeft een glazen dak en geen airco in de grote hal, werkte deze hal goed. Naast de merchandise hal, was de artist alley te vinden op de bovenverdieping, net als de panelruimtes en de cosplay kleedruimte. En in deze delen van het gebouw was wel airco aanwezig.  

Stripboeken, comics en nog meer comics In tegenstelling tot grote conventies zoals Dutch Comic Con, MCM en Amsterdam Comic Con, doet LSCC zijn naam eer aan. Het is een conventie die zich voor bijna 100% focust op comics. Op de merchandise vloer kun je dan ook voornamelijk veel kraampjes met longboxes vinden die comics verkopen. Ook zijn er geen bekende acteurs aanwezig, maar wel bekende striptekenaars en stripschrijvers met als meest bekende Brian Michael Bendis. Dit was zijn eerste keer op een evenement in de UK en hij is het grote brein achter de Ultimate Marvel Universe en heeft ieder nummer van Ultimate Spider-Man geschreven sinds de launch in 1999. En hij schrijft nog steeds voor een aantal van Marvel’s belangrijkste titels.  

Aandacht voor cosplay Op vorige edities was cosplay een belangrijk onderdeel van de conventie en hier werd veel aandacht aan besteed. Gasten zoals Kamui cosplay werden uitgenodigd en de Costume Championship stond aangeschreven als een van de meest prestigieuze cosplay competities van het land, vorig jaar was de hoofdprijs een trip voor twee naar New York Comic Con. Dit jaar leek het wel alsof cosplay was vergeten. De gasten waren voornamelijk locals en de Costume Championships zijn vervangen door een Masquerade (catwalk). Er was wel een trofee voor de winnaar, maar zeker niet zo’n grote prijs als vorig jaar. Het is erg jammer dat cosplay een beetje vergeten leek. Toch waren er wel degelijk een aantal cosplayers aanwezig op de conventie, jong en oud.  

De artist alley kon op een andere verdieping gevonden worden, maar dit werd goed aangegeven. En veel mensen kwamen naar deze conventie om bepaalde artiesten te vinden voor commisions of om hun comics te laten signeren. Ook was het goed om te zien dat er een echte mix van bezoekers was, jong en oud, comic verzamelaars en dagjesmensen.  

Eén dag of twee of drie dagen Persoonlijk zou ik (als cosplayer) deze conventie alleen bezoeken, als je toch al in Londen bent, maar ik zou er niet speciaal voor naar Londen afreizen. Ook denk ik dat één dag genoeg is om alles te zien, dat vond ik vorig jaar ook al. Het ligt natuurlijk wel aan je interesses, mochten er bepaalde artiesten komen waar je fan van bent, en wil je veel comics kopen, dan is deze conventie het zeker waard. Maar vanuit cosplay oogpunt is de kwaliteit niet meer op hetzelfde level als vorig jaar. Ik hoop dat ze hier wat aan kunnen doen voor een volgende editie!

Präsentation der Traditionsweingüter 2018/REPORT

As a pretty big follower and overall dedicated fans of the wines of Austria, recently moved to the country, I immediately saw the new vintage release event of the Erste Lagen as something I could not miss out on.

Back in the 1990’s, what started as a tiny group of passionate winemakers in Kamptal/Kremstal under the name ‘Traditionsweiguter’ discussing vineyards and soils, later on turned into something much bigger; 

Fast forward to present day, the organization has successfully brought surrounding winegrowing areas together under one roof, Osterreichische Traditionsweinguter. Now at 30+ members including Kamptal, Kremstal, Wagram, Traisental and more recently, Vienna.

...WHAT FOR?...

Indeed, as many reckoned the Burgundian pyramid system (Village, 1er cru, Grand Cru) as a success for preserving identity and terroir, this is the main goal the organization has intended to pursue down its path but more specifically: How does one map out individual identities within an old implemented system?

Well, they did just that. Setting out to promote and highlight every vineyard worthy of being granted a Erste Lage (Premier cru) or Grosse Lage (Grand cru) status. Although the Erste Lagen sites were finally revealed in the early 2010’s, the Grosse Lagen could still be another few decades.

As a matter of fact, this type of classification has led to the fame of certain sites such as Heiligenstein or Lamm in Kamptal, which the organization can be credited for.

...THE EVENT...

-Friday, September 7th 2018 was the day of the event (last day open to the public)-

...Set every year, the organization has set a rule for the new vintage not released to the market until the event taking place, which means all upcoming notes will be on the 2017 vintage...

Set in a gorgeous setting out in the Kamptal area, I could not have thought of a better place than Schloss Grafenegg for hosting the event.

I’m immediately handed a glass as I walk in and make my way to the main hallway, where most producers could be found. Indeed, the event was spread around the castle into a few rooms and further divided into site names on each booth.

First off I have to say, hats off to the event planners people as this put the emphasis on the vineyard and not the winemaking team, also leaving room for comparison.

KAMPTAL/

I’m first greeted by the team from Hiedler, hosting the Heiligenstein booth, among other wines such as Jurtschitsch, Bründlmayer and Schloss Gobelsburg. 

After about a few short conversations and what felt like half an hour of sampling, what I tasted were wines were of extremely high quality.

Most described 2017 as a very forgiving vintage, with long warm days throughout the season, which ended in rainy days closer to the picking date, leading to freshness and longevity in the wines.

Overall, what had me divided was rather immediate appeal vs. non-approachable, cellar worthy. 

I found all wines, especially from Jurtschitsch to have an appealing, fruity aspect but found myself more attracted to the more obscure, youthful Riesling Heiligenstein from Hiedler… Quiet and closed but I would gladly come back to them in a few years.

KREMSTAL/

As I move further back to the Kremstal room, I notice a sudden decrease in space for producers as maybe for lack of fame? Who knows. 

Looking around, I already had Stadt Krems and Salomon as the two names I wanted to taste from.

I then proceeded onto sampling through a lineup from both and although, Stadt Krems have remained among my personal favorites, here Salomon stood out.

Gruner Veltliner VON STEIN had to be the freshest and most pure GV I have had. Spiciness in the background but lifted by great acidity and moderate body (which most producers overdo). Great stuff.

All remaining Riesling, including Pfaffenberg were among other outstanding examples.

As most would compare the Kremstal climate similar to the one of the Wachau (also for its similar soil structure) and its wines at times heavy, I here found the complete opposite.

WAGRAM/

Last but not least in my limited amount of time, I managed to squeeze in one stop at OTT.

One of the famous names here, I believe in the Wagram having opened up to the world map of wine thanks to OTT. 

Gruner Veltliner ROSENBERG again blew me away. Amazing freshness and laced with citrus peels, spices and well, warm welcomes go a long way!

...CONCLUSION...

 I have to quickly make my way out, I wrap up this event on a upbeat note for wines to come from Austria and especially from these areas.

What came out of a few conversations was never has a focus been put so much on quality, care and identity from all producers. Based on what I had sampled prior to the event alongside all wines sampled, I cannot help but remain highly optimistic about the future of Austrian wine.

Ditemani semarak warga Semarang yang berolahraga pagi dan kegiatan berburu sarapan, para volunteer yang sedianya terdiri atas sepuluh orang itu mengawali perkenalan dan diskusi di salah satu warung tenda rakyat. Meskipun tiga orang tidak dapat hadir di tengah-tengah mereka, perkenalan berlangsung hangat hingga dilanjutkan pembagian divisi. Berdasarkan hasil kesepakatan bersama, berikut struktur Volunteer Indonesia Medika Chapter Semarang. Sekitar dua jam diskusi berlangsung untuk menyepakati dan menyusun berbagai hal yang akan segera dilaksanakan. Langkah konkrit utama yang disepakati ialah: (1)mengumpulkan data dan menyusun daftar calon pasien membutuhkan di wilayah peredaran masing-masing volunteer dan (2)menyusun daftar tenaga medis potensial untuk bermitra dengan program @homedika yang beberapa waktu lalu telah rilis. 「建築からみる大宮図書館～これまでと未来に向けて～」開館5年を迎えた大宮図書館

今年5月、開館5年を迎えた大宮図書館。

氷川参道沿いに佇む大宮図書館は、製糸で栄えた大宮の歴史から着想され、絹糸をイメージした建築です。コンセプトは「人を紡ぐ／まちを紡ぐ／時を紡ぐ」。

５周年記念として5月25日、大宮図書館で「建築からみる大宮図書館～これまでと未来に向けて～」が開催されました。

建築設計にかかわった工藤和美氏（シーラカンスK＆H株式会社　代表取締役）、伊藤彰彦氏（株式会社久米設計　設計本部建築設計部部長）が基調講演を行い、

パネルディスカッションに、飯島光博氏（大宮区役所区長）、馬渕忠秀氏（大宮図書館館長）、岸靖哲氏（大成建設株式会社）が加わり意見を交換しました。

昨年11月、大宮区役所・大宮図書館は、一般社団法人　公共建築協会が主催する「第18回公共建築賞」において公共建築賞・特別賞を受賞しました。

大宮図書館館長　馬渕忠秀氏は「素晴らしい建築に我々も負けないように。来館者が有意義な時間をすごせるように『図書館ってこんなことするの？』と思うようなイベントをやりたい」とお話しました。

【レポ】浅見俊哉さん！「喫茶芸術領域構築」展 北上尾 ステンドコーヒー

北上尾の珈琲ショップ「SUTTENDO COFFEE」で開催されている「喫茶芸術領域構築」展 vol.15 浅見俊哉　へいってきました

写真作家、造形ワークショップデザイナー、キュレーターと一人三役をこなす？浅見俊哉さんの個展です。

5月20日から6月16日まで開催。最終日に訪れました。

今回は、約20年前から制作を続けている写真シリーズも含め13点の作品を展示。

2005年から制作している『15秒人（15 Seconds Man）』シリーズや、2004年作の『またたき』シリーズ、2012年からヒロシマで制作している『呼吸する影』シリーズが中心です。

上尾のご当地グルメ「上尾串ぎょうざ」です。洋風な洒落た串ぎょうざでした☆

たくさんのステンドグラスが置かれたコーヒーショップ「ステンドコーヒー」。

『飲食を通じて情報を発信し人が集まる場を作る』というビジョンをもち、カフェを通じて文化芸術に触れる機会を発信しています。

浅見さんの作品と、ステンドグラスと、飾られていた紫陽花が溶け込んでいて、初夏らしい空間に仕上がっていました。美術館も素敵ですが、カフェでの展示は、アートをより身近に感じられますね☆

「『生きること』と『作品を制作すること』は近しい」と浅見俊哉さん。

地域アートを盛り上げる浅見さんの今後の活動を楽しみにしております！
