As someone who is both, fed up of the ‘British villain’ trope in every American piece of media aaaaand not the biggest Vincent fan.
I would personally love it if past-Vincent was the problem.

finished episode 1 of Andor.
first, i see that this show has the same “problem” as kenobi which is that the episodes are SO short, they’re about 30 minutes long. i say “problem” because it’s not inherently an issue.... though to me it is because episodes feel like they were cut at random places in post-production while not having been written & filmed as such.
there’s only so much you can show in 30 minutes. there’s a reason that the only shows with episodes of 20-30 minutes are comedies because only a show that’s deliberately formulaic and episodic can work with that. the only difference is that kenobi was only 6 episodes long (and it was basically a 2-hour movie split into 6 parts)
second, i liked the episode but - and i hate using this expression - nothing happened. as in, we were introduced to some characters but nothing really developed or moved forward and as such it’s really hard to have any opinion on it. i feel like i just watched half an episode or the first 3 scenes of a movie.
for that reason i’m going to watch episode 2 right now but it honestly makes me wonder why they release these shows weekly if they’re not going to adjust the shows’ structure and pacing to it. this feels like it was meant to be binged.
thirdly, and this is just an aside, but it feels SO weird to me that almost all the characters are british 😭 i know its because this show is filmed in england but i do not associate british accents to star wars at all. one or two characters sure. but 90% of them?? i expect most characters to speak with an american accent and everytime it doesn’t happen i’m like 🤔🤔🤔 anyway that’s just me ofc not an actual critique lol
