I finished Assistant to the Villain within 2 days, and now I'm experiencing book hangover. I am listening to it again. It wad the best book I've read in a really long time, thank you Hannah Nicole Maehrer for this masterpiece of a novel, can't wait for the second one.

Okay so is it just me who thinks the Guard who helped Evie could be Gideon?

Because it would explain why Trystan doesn't know him, doesn't trust him, and yet the guy still helps Evie.

Also, her mother left, as we all know, but what if she didn't kill Gideon and either hid him or told him to run away instead?

If it is Gideon, then did he decide to infiltrate Benedict's lot by himself? Or did he join the guards thinking they were the good guys, and end up seeing the acts they committed (maybe even what they did to Trystan?) and decided to do a little betraying with a dash of subterfuge?

I don't know, just seems like a viable possibility.

(Also her father being the traitor, I am NOT OKAY-)

Sorry for the continuous Assistant To The Villian posts, I've finally, FINALLY have the book after waiting since August (my orders kept getting delayed) and I just finished reading it.

ANYWAY

Evie and Trystan (The Villain) are so fucking cute omg I can't with them 🥹🥹🥹🥹

I am so ready for Evie to go batshit in the second book. The Villain is so pathetically overprotective and in love with Evie. I don't blame him tho.

Becky and Evie's entire relationship is "I wish you were dead but if someone hurts you I might just kill them" and like Hannah (the author) said: They're a slow burn, but a friendship edition

The way I headcannoned that Tati is into women from the first time she's ever had a real appearance in Hannah's videos and then getting the confirmation that her ex was literally The Villain's sister I love Tatianna so much.

We got some crumbs of Blade and Becky I wonder how much of them we're getting in book two
