Il Portogallo ha una storia islamica significativa, risalente al periodo di dominazione musulmana dal 711 al 1249; durante questo tempo, gran parte della penisola iberica, inclusa l'odierna Portogallo, era sotto il controllo musulmano, noto come Gharb al-Andalus.

La presenza islamica ha influenzato profondamente la cultura portoghese, dall'architettura alla scienza della navigazione; tuttavia, la narrazione storica tende a enfatizzare la "Reconquista" cristiana, trascurando le interazioni e le coesistenze pacifiche tra le comunità musulmane, cristiane ed ebraiche.

5. How did you choose their name and why? Was it simply based on vibes or is there any specific meaning behind the name? Are the reasons behind their name different in- and out of universe?

evora used to be my online persona- she had my username, "yoshee". she had a friend named bentley (who was named entirely for vibes), and in the translation to original concepts i made them siblings. i looked up a little more info about bentley's name and decided to also name my old character after a car lol, so i looked up a couple different kinds and picked a name that sounded nice. in-universe it's just an elf name i think.

7. What is an aspect of their appearance that you like the most?

i like the webbed spines along the back of her her head and down her back. it's the only aspect of her original design (besides the bow) that she got to keep, so it's a little... not quite nostalgic, but, it makes the character remain Physically Recognizable as her old self to me.

17. Are there any motifs or symbols associated with the character? How are they represented, in their design, personality or in some other way?

you know, it comes out in their eye shape more than anything- butterflies, i think. it's not really a motif that will be present in the narrative of the story, since butterflies aren't really a thing in their solar system (at least, fireflies seem much more prevalent), but it was a deliberate choice.
