Dawn and Other Acts of Love t. 4.6k. sakusa's worst nightmare has come true: he has to stay the weekend at atsumu's. such a funny premise spun into a fluffy piece with light hurt and so much comfort. loved it!

shoot to kill g. 6.2k. this obliterated me and continues to haunt me. atsumu knows not to cross the line when it comes to insults and arguments, but sakusa does not, and says something that he shouldn't have. very powerful, with a tender conclusion at the end. one of the best fics i read this year <3

Summer Special: Omigiri t. 6.9k. osamu asks sakusa to be his model for his upcoming summer umeboshi onigiri special, but it turns out to be a ploy for him to confess to atsumu. absolutely hilarious.

The Taste of 2 a.m. t. 8.2k. atsumu is an insomniac with a need to drink tea at 2 am and sakusa joins him. they eventually fall in love with the routine and each other.

Curse Breaking for Dummies: A Setter's Guide to Getting the Guy g. 10.2k. 2/2. modern magic twist where atsumu is cursed with a love curse and everyone falls in love with him except sakusa. you can tell where this will go. very fun and lighthearted!

love as told by you t. 11.1k. this fic is the sun that beams onto you at the end of a rainstorm, reassuring you that love exists, and you'll find love, or a platonic soulmate. it's so warm and tender, choke full of affectionate details of a blooming sakuatsu relationship. a comfort fic, for sure.

recipe for disaster e. 22.9k. fwb narrative where atsumu falls in love with sakusa, featuring anxiety, supportive brothers, and sakusa who also loves him back. the sunaosa side of things is also *chef's kiss* and recommended below ehe

turn west towards dawn e. 2.7k. prose intertwined with letters about osamu getting an email from suna while studying in italy to reconnect after their break-up. the writing is both light but heavy with their lingering emotions and regret that makes your heart throb.

resistance to flow t. 6.2k. fwb to lovers agenda. i will never tire of the slippery slope of falling in love, especially if it's written beautifully.

A Primer for the Small Weird Orchestra Loves t. 8.2k. au where the boys are in an orchestra and suna helps osamu with the violin. lovely details and slow burn, with also a sakuatsu sequel.

of great ambition m. 17.8k. more of a suna-centric character study with a splash of sunaosa that focuses on suna's journey to become a pro. suna is so vulnerable in this, and he deserves all the glory for himself. it's also very in line with how i interpret his character <3

secret menu e. 26.3k. the sunaosa side of recipe for disaster. suna takes a part-time job working at onigiri miya during the off-season and gets more than he bargained for. also fwb narrative but augh. augh. the writing for both fics is so good and tailored to each character's perspective. i love both of them.

bokuaka

an ode to a conversation stuck in your throat e. 3.1k. a character study of bokuto who has bpd with spice. achingly soft and full of love.

crossing distance g. 4k. bokuto went abroad to study after high school and akaashi is the first one that he contacts. i just love how they were able to fall into each other again despite the distance and falling out of communication, it's truly a magical thing <3

A Kind of Magic t. 6.7k. bokuto and akaashi often hang out at bokuto's house until akaashi invites him over and introduces him to his incredibly large and wild family. beautiful, beautiful prose and gradual realization of feelings. we stan family members as their cheerleaders.

heavy heart, a love apart e. 7k. exes to lovers. this oozed with angst and heavy hearts with tension that is eventually resolved for a hopeful ending. loved the atmosphere created by the prose.

iwaoi

yes-man t. 4.1k. no matter what oikawa asks of iwa, he always says yes, including a spontaneous weekend trip to las vegas. very cute and fluffy!

Pretty Boy t. 8k. oikawa is used to iwa's range of nicknames for him, but when iwa starts calling him pretty boy, well. that changes things. fluffy, cute, and lighthearted!

shoelaces and departures t. 10.1k. 2/2. magical realism au where iwa runs a cafe and oikawa is compelled to travel to different corners of the world because of his innate wanderlust. mutual pining at its finest with fluff.

rise e. 12.4k. oikawa and iwa live together after high school but don't have a label on their relationship. something else that this fic focuses is on the push-pull aspect they have, especially with oikawa's knee injury. the hurt/comfort hit me where it hurt.

When I Fall to My Feet e. 23.2k. 3/3. trans oikawa is looking for someone to overwrite his terrible first time, and eventually iwa offers to do it. fwb to lovers, with a sprinkle of makki and mattsun friendship, and a wonderfully supportive iwa.

The MSBY Black Jackals Guide To Self-Care t. 4.5k. sakusa-centric. a cute little fic of sakusa learning about his teammates' various self-care routines.

Off the Hinges t. 15.9k. arankita, sakuatsu. kita adopts sakusa since he's a kouhai in the same business program as him while watching him develop his relationship with atsumu. kita also takes a page from his own book with his relationship with aran. cute and endearing. my first arankita fic and i hope it won't be my last.

i remember how the earth stopped turning t. 73.3k. 6/6. kageyama-centric. man. man. it's an amazing read that focuses on the immediate post-career ending injury and intertwines povs from other characters. gorgeous prose. give it a read, seriously.

Yamaguchi Tadashi is NOT a ghost hunter m. 77.9k. 23/23. tsukkiyama. the house that tskushima, kuroo, and bokuto rent in osaka is haunted, and hinata recommends yamaguchi, a spirit medium, to help them. the slow burn!! the mystery!! the details!! i very much enjoyed this <3

i love love loveeeeee toge, fun fact i started jjk because of him 😇😇 i don’t write much for/about him you’re right but i think he’s in a place now where it’s like i love and adore his character so much that i don’t wanna mess him up? or mess up how much time i’ve spent loving him in my head lollllll but i do have headcanons ofc

he has to kiss and tell. it doesn’t matter that he can’t speak, trust that he’s the first to tell. if you want an undercover relationship, he is not your man—actually the second that you two get together, you’re in a group chat with all his friends and he’s quadruple texting about how he loves you

in a canonverse au where he can’t use sign language, he comes up with another way to tell you he loves you. some other sushi ingredient or food ingredient or otherwise neutral word that reminds him of you. he doesn’t tell you beforehand, so it’s a bit of a surprise when he randomly holds you hand and smiles and says something like umeboshi very slowly and deliberately, but it only takes a moment of really looking at his eyes to understand what his saying :((

in a world where he uses sign language, he still uses it mostly to talk shit LOL. ofc it’s helpful to communicate the more nuanced feelings with you, but toge’s favorite use of it is to silently communicate with you in public about someone else—particularly someone else he doesn’t like. true diva behavior, esp because he always sets you up to lie to whoever he’s talking about when they inevitably ask what’s going on

turns your apartment into a greenhouse accidentally. he’s canonically good at gardening and is the one who takes care of the flowers on campus, and he has a habit of buying and spending extra time tending to plants that you like or that remind him of you. it starts small, a tiny plant on your bathroom counter that he insists is easy to care for and is good for air circulation. then another in your bedroom, a few in your living room, some flowers to sit on your windowsill, a bigger orchid to fill that awkward space between the wall and your couch, a feeder in your kitchen so you can have fresh herbs when you cook. he’s not one to rise early, except on feeding day, toge is the first one up and you can often catch him quietly tending to all of the plants as the sun rises.

I live in a mid-sized city, which is overall pretty good, with the exception that there are certain things that are just impossible to find locally. This means going online, and you can't find everything online, especially when it comes to food, where the only version you can get is the most intensely shelf-stable one.

Anyway, today I finally got to try umeboshi, Japanese pickled plums, and I'm in love. I'm going to have to figure out a way to make them at home, which I'm guessing is not very difficult.

- I don’t know about you but to me I’m neutral about it, if you ship this, good for you! If you don’t then okay!

- I do think it’s a cute ship though with their interactions, relationship between the two, etc..

- And it actually MAKE SENSE

- Like hear me out, Law would actually marry a polar bear because of how much of a freak he is and considering he’s a pirate, he wouldn’t care if other people think it’s weird, at least he has his fluffy boyfriend.

- I draw these two a lot in my sketchbooks, like every single one just HAD to have Law and Bepo together or else those sketchbooks are not mine

ive also simplified my cooking

i did try before to try and have variety in my meals but honestly it is just much too much work if you live alone and frankly i get grossed out by leftovers over 2 days old and there is just a waste of produce if you don't plan for leftovers alone

just a variation of a piece of toast two slices of ham, two slices of cheese some sliced cherry tomatoes and green pepper with a fried egg and ketchup and bulldog sauce is pretty simple. minimal cutting. uses the whole vegetable up, simple enough for a meal all on one piece of bread. quick and easy

or okayu with basically the same stuff except with soy sauce and umeboshi. no cheese... but i hate cleaning the rice cooker bowl... blugh and it takes longer. it is nice to infuse ginger in the rice though...

or the same sides as the bread except no bread instead a fried cubed potato and the egg is scrambled . but its getting warmer so the potatoes go bad quicker now... blugh at least with bread i don't have to worry about it growing buds and i dont have to peel it

but why since trying to make an effort to be consistent with my eating with fresh produce is eating literally so expensive ughhh and milk

i blame the milk.... i didn't buy so much milk before but now im walking and i am simply hungry and thirsty.... i will miss tanohata and iwaizumi milk.... other milk just isn't the same.

i tried buying the cheaper milk in the supermarket once.... i hated it it is much too thin and watery and it tasted disgusting.... i guess i do like very rich milk lol

without a doubt he adores the simplicity of omosubis / Rice balls & grilled fish. its his comfort food that brings him back to the time he had spent under the care of Rosinante since they were pretty close. you can say that some of his traits rubbed off on him. with the heavy exception of umeboshi. he hates it. the bane of his existence.

since his DF heavily relies on stamina, he would look into any sport that can assist with Cardiovascular endurance / help build stamina in general. maybe some weight lifting. you'll frequently catch him using those ladders attached to the wall/ doorway doing sets of pull ups.

Yes! This was Kubo's answer to a Klub Outside question.

Q385: I'd like to find out about Kisuke's likes and dislikes in terms of food. If there's been any changes in his culinary taste between the time he was a captain and nowadays, I'd like to know about them. A385: He likes rice. The list of food he dislikes would have no end. Since we're at it, Yoruichi eats any kind of food.

The impression I get is that he's a picky eater, which, I'll be honest, was new information to me, but not altogether surprising.

I have long headcanoned that Kisuke often can't be bothered to eat. It's just never been on his list of priorities. When he does eat, his choices are informed by necessity, comfort, and convenience, not sensory indulgence. He'd prefer that his food not demand his attention. Without Tessai's constant vigilance, he likely wouldn't even eat regular meals. So I was highly amused to see I'd actually hit pretty close to canon. Since learning this tidbit, I've had lot of fun leaning into the idea of Kisuke's hopelessly bland diet, how anything spicy would probably upset his delicate digestion and send him scurrying for the WC, how Tessai must constantly be encouraging him to eat by presenting dishes in as palatable and appealing a way as possible, how Tessai must be constantly dismayed when Tenchō picks at his food and avoids the vegetables, and nobody appreciates his special pickles... that man is the soul of patience, I tell you. Since Christmas is coming, I'll just put out there that Kisuke likes KFC. Everyone likes KFC.

I do think Kisuke has a sweet tooth, so he's far more likely to eat candy or pastries offered to him. But it amuses me to have him eating simple rice porridge for breakfast and snacking on plain onigiri. Maybe with umeboshi, the one exception to the no strong flavors rule. And yeah... he'll eat Spam musubi.

Author's notes: Taking a break from writing A Glimpse of Yellow. When I first thought of this idea, I was going to make it funny and awkward, but I liked this take on it better.

Sakusa unlocked the door to his parents' apartment, exhausted from the crowded commute back to Tokyo. It was quiet.

He slipped off his duffle bags and took off his shoes. After removing his mask, he scrunched his brows. There was a sweet yet unfamiliar smell. Perhaps Mom was given a new perfume. Sakusa looked around the living room and peeked into the kitchen.

Mom must be out.

Her birthday was yesterday but Sakusa wasn't free until the weekend. He had wanted to come visit, especially since his father had been scheduled to do some flights over these few days. Mom was used to it, being married to him all these years.

Sakusa wished someone would be there for her when his dad wasn't around.

With his eyes on his phone, he walked to his bedroom. The last time he was here it was still filled with clothes he didn't wear anymore, stacks of notes from college, and a few things his siblings had left behind.

He held the phone to his ear, hearing it ring, waiting for his mom to pick up. He should tell her he's here.

Sakusa opened the door to his bedroom.

He almost dropped his phone.

You laid on your stomach, sprawled on his bed which was now decorated with bright linens. Wearing headphones, you nodded your head to the music with your laptop out, typing away at whatever it was you were working on.

When you finally looked up and saw him, not hearing him enter, you quickly sat up straight on his bed.

"Hello?" Sakusa's mom answered the line.

After squinting your eyes, studying Sakusa's face, you gasped. You exclaimed with a wide smile, "Oh! You must be Ki–" You covered your mouth. "Should I be calling you Sakusa-san too?" you said. Your pronunciation revealed you recently learned Japanese.

"Mom, who's this girl in my room?" Sakusa asked as he looked down at you, eyebrow twitching.

"You mean Y/n?" she replied from the other end of the phone. "I thought I told you about her."

Sakusa lowered his phone, checking that he did indeed miss a message from Mom weeks ago.

Your college had an exchange program with the University of Tokyo. Unfortunately, the plans for your original host family fell through and his mom had learned about your situation from the gossiping neighbours on their floor. Being the sweet woman she was, she wanted to help you as much as she could. Sakusa's father was hesitant at first, but after she persuaded him, he took the necessary precautions to make sure everything went smoothly.

Everything except their son coming home.

"Mom, where are you?" he said in a low voice.

"I'm at the grocery store," she replied. Sakusa could hear the beeps from the item scanner through the phone. "I'll be there soon."

Sakusa bit the bottom of his lip. He wanted to kick you out.

You didn't let him.

He found himself sitting at the kitchen table, watching you grabbing a bowl and chopsticks, setting them in front of him. You mumbled a few things to yourself, counting with your fingers as you organized your thoughts.

"The oldest liked shrimp tempura I think," you muttered to yourself. "The daughter liked miso soup… Oh!" You grabbed a container from one of the upper kitchen cabinets, opening the lid and placing it in front of him. "You liked umeboshi, right?" you asked with a huge grin on your face.

Sakusa could only nod, caught too off guard to say anything else as you hurried away to wash the dishes.

There was a click from the front door. Mom pulled in a cart of groceries.

"I'm so sorry Kiyoomi!" his mom told him. "I would have prepared if I knew you were coming!"

"It wouldn't be a surprise then Mom," he muttered, hands in pockets and slouched in his seat, before giving her a gentle smile.

Sakusa started to get up from his seat, but you beat him to it.

"Here! I can do it," you told her, your eyes forming into crescents, moving the bags of food onto the kitchen counter. You placed the box of tea bags in the cabinet to the right of the fridge before putting the milk away. After the rest of the food was organized into their place, you even changed their water filter with a new one.

Sakusa couldn't help but stare at how comfortable you felt in his parents' home as if it were your own.

"I'll go clean up my –I mean– Sakusa-san's room and take out all of my stuff," you said, already heading down the hallway. "I can also sleep on the couch tonight."

"Are you sure?" Mom called after you as you entered his room.

"Of course! I wouldn't want your son to feel uncomfortable in his own home," you told her, popping your head back into the hallway. "Besides, I sleep on my friends' couches all the time when I visit them."

Sakusa bit his lip. Surely there was some other solution. But before he could think of anything, you were already making your way back to the living room with a backpack and a couple of duffle bags on hand. Then you rushed back to get your laptop and pack the rest of your clothes into your suitcase.

He resigned into a sigh. You had already made up your mind. He scratched his head, thinking that he should be taking care of his body anyway. Sleeping in his own bed would help. However, when he looked into his room, knowing that a stranger had been using it, he did not want to sleep in there right now.

You grabbed the vacuum and a mask, fixing your hair and headed into his room, ready to clean. Sakusa's lips had a slight uptick in the corners before putting on his own mask and gloves. As he helped you wipe down the furniture while you vacuumed the floors, he snuck a glance at you every so often.

When Mom came into the room, Sakusa stood up a little straighter, shifting his eyes away from you. However, his mom went straight for his bed to pull off the blanket and bed sheets.

"No, let us do it!" you insisted, moving your way to the bed.

"Oh it's alright," she told you, gently using her arm to block you from getting to the sheets. "Let me do this for my son. I don't do as much for him now that he's all grown up."

"But he's here for your birthday."

"Oh that's alright. I am also quite happy to do this for him," she said smiling at you.

Normally Sakusa would allow his mom to have her way with these things. She could be fairly persistent at times.

”How about this?" You rubbed your chin. "You can pick out a drama we can watch together and prepare some snacks for us. How does that sound? Hm?"

Sakusa saw a glint in his mother's eye. She shook her finger at you, knowing you were trying to stop her from doing any more work. "Only one episode," she reasoned. "You still need to study."

You grinned and went back to the bed sheets, helping Sakusa remove them before placing them in a basket. He started to carry the laundry basket out of his room, but he paused after taking a step towards the door. He'd have to use the elevator again. He groaned. The stairs weren't much better.

You tapped Sakusa's shoulder. "Would you like me to bring it down to the laundry room?"

Sakusa blinked a few times, cheeks slightly red, before handing you the laundry basket. You took the access card from the shelf in the hallway and placed it into your pocket. "I'll be right back."

A while later, Sakusa opened the bathroom door with his mouth still tasting like a bit of mint. He saw you huddled beside his mom on the couch, munching on some sliced apples and crackers while watching the TV screen.

While leaning on the door frame of the bathroom, a smile formed on his lips. You glanced at him; his eyes grew then blinked a couple of times. Sakusa cleared his throat when you raised your eyebrow at him before heading back to his room.

Relaxing his shoulders, Sakusa eased onto his bed. His room was set back to how he had left it. The bed sheets were now in his favorite navy plaid, the pillow fitted with a matching colour. He brought that pillow on all of his travels with his rambunctious teammates.

For some odd reason, his mind went back to something Bokuto had said, something he thought was ridiculous.

"When I first met her, I knew I had to marry her!"

Sakusa covered his face with both palms before finally leaning back and falling onto his bed. He let out a prolonged sigh, not knowing where it came from.

Bokuto's words suddenly didn't seem so ridiculous anymore.

I hope you enjoyed it. I don't know if you caught the little headcanons that showed that Sakusa got certain parts of his personality from his parents.

I kind of used a friend who went on exchange to Singapore as reference. lol. Her host family treated her like family. :)

I had some other ideas for this story but didn't get the inspiration to fully flesh them out and polish them. So this is it for now since I'm currently concentrating on my chaptered fic, A Glimpse of Yellow (Suna x f!reader)
