Believe in YOU.
It's hard when you're going through a particularly shitty time and you feel lonely, lost and depressed. It's even more difficult when you try to seek consolidation from friends but everything they say makes it worse. During my university years, I had a few ultra religious friends who believed God was my answer. Many times during my rough times I heard "just make dua" or "read salah and it will help". For the record, it did not help. I became disinterested in "Allah will help, just pray, read the Quran" and all the other bullshit they spouted and I began believing in my own abilities. If there was something I could change about how I was feeling, then it was up to ME to go ahead and change it. If you really have to believe in something then it should be yourself. Give yourselves credit where it's due. Give yourselves a break, you're doing the best you can. God didn't help me, I helped me. *Sidenote: Thankyou for all your private messages. We will try to answer questions and comments as and when we can. Please bear with us.

What is Greece's attitude towards middle easterners? Since there seems to be quite a history there :P. Not asking about a specific groupp, just wondering overall.
hey! oof yeah that's a pretty big area and the answer is: I am really not sure xD On one hand, a part of Asia Minor had a really big population so many Greeks are Anatolian/Middle eastern or have that heritage. We share food, words, and customs with the middle eastern nations closer to us. But, as I see it, the average Greek mentally wants to keep a safe distance out of caution.
As you mayalready know, for the last 1.000 years Greeks were enemies with many of the countries there and, for many centuries were subjugated under the Ottomans and their mostly Arab allies.
Forced exislamization was strong for a long time and Christianity was almost forcefully removed from the middle east (it was the prominent religion there but it slowly "dies" out and not in a very consensual way). So, having those experiences, the Greek people have turned towards Europe for kinship. For many years Christianity was their no1 identifier so they sought support from other Christian peoples, mainly the Orthodox ones.
So, there is not exactly an enmity from the Greek side, just a distance and... an indifference, I'd say. We share so many things and - obviously - the simple people get along well. I am certain that if you put middle easterners and Greeks in one room there would be the biggest "bro" vibes ever 😂
However, there are old wounds :/ I don't think there is another explanation for Greeks not knowing they have so much in common with Middle Easterners, aside from that "ptsd" historical response.
Surely, there are some Greeks who study the M.E. countries and have friends there and travel, etc. I am just

And many Lebanese people are Christian so we'll have an extra connection with them.

To give you an idea of how little the average Greek seems to know about the Middle East I made a comical/satirical (towards the Greeks) map. Needless to say, it doesn't reflect my own knowledge and beliefs! It's stereotypes others hold.

I do feel at a cross roads sometimes because while I find  validation in reading exmuslim opinons and experiences I have found that I just generally do not like those communities (on most any topic outside of exislam)
