FMK: the Father, the Son, the Holy Ghost
Fuck: The Father (just for variety)
Marry: The Holy Ghost (matches my sense of humor, and it'd be interesting to learn all his weird lore)
Kill: The Son (based on conventional wisdom)

As a follow up to the question about cube cars, what do you think of the Honda Element?
an underappreciated suv. insane cargo space in those, i used to do theater and one of the tech people had one, it was the best hauler we had. a little big but uses the space well, and pretty off-road capable

So what are your Hugo rankings? Including No Award, if you wish
Nona the Ninth
Doctor of Daughter Moreau
Nettle & Bone
The Spare Man
Noah Ward
Kaiju Preservation Society
Legends and Lattes
Though 2-3 and 6-7 could both swap pretty easily.

You have generally excellent opinions on books and video games, and also I admire the dedication and passion you have when it comes to hating astrology.

I remember some time ago you said that you thought every MCU film was good except for one. Which one was that?
It's Captain America: Civil War lol. It makes no sense and it is also boring, which is the worst thing a movie can be in my book.

so this is an actual genuine ask but I'm curious because the only "culturally christian atheists" take I've ever seen has been "there's a subset of atheist movements that behaves a lot like prostletizing christians" but that seems like such a milquetoast thing that I feel like there's gotta be more than that given the context, right
@memecucker and @explodingsilver could probably direct you towards more details but there's a lot of extremely bad faith positions people take on the subject in order to dismiss criticisms of religion and also completely ignore both historical and current non-western atheism.
The idea that having opinions about how the world works and trying to explain why you have those opinions/try to convince others those opinions are correct is uniquely christian is also pretty dumb on its own, but people try to make that connection unironically.

every story that has a tomboy get "fixed" and find true love is fucking crime against humanity. she's not embracing her inner femininity, she wasn't suppressing it out of insecurity. you just hate all that's good in the world.

explodingsilver replied to your post “of all the questionable things you have to do in lucasarts games,...”
Monkey Island 2, taking that cooking job and just running off with the money. I wanted to actually earn that money.
I remember the first time I got that job in the game and I was very small and my mom was helping me, and she was like “well, you’d better find an apron or something” because we genuinely thought we were going to do an honest day’s work in that game

I haven't read your review of Some Desperate Glory yet because I don't want to spoil myself on it but apparently my sister read your review and has now checked it out from the library
Wait, did she find the review through a vector other than you? Huh, weird.
Hope she enjoys the book, anyway! Some weaknesses in the ending aside it really is one of my favorite reads of the year.

I'm unrecommending Ratner's Star by Don Delillo. I really wanted to like that book, especially since I already enjoyed Cosmopolis by the same author and RS is the closest thing to "math fiction" (as opposed to science fiction) that I've ever read, but unfortunately every chapter is just "the protagonist meets a weird person, they do something weird, this has no effect on the overall plot and this character is never mentioned again".
Honestly slightly embarrassed to admit that Delillo is bunched with Foster Wallace as 'modern litfic guys I should get around to reading sometime' in my head. So like, noted! Will cross that one off my ultra-long-term tbr.
Though now I'm honestly about what you mean by 'math fiction'?

Rules: Tag 10 people you want to get to know better.
Relationship status: Married and with a secondary polyamorous relationship. Kind of in a relationship with myself as well but identity boundaries are still blurry at times.
Favorite color: Black.
Song stuck in my head: The Tsukihime menu theme.
Last song I listened to: Not counting stuff playing entirely in my head... I'm not sure.
Three favorite foods: Mapo tofu, fried rice, and some specific types of pizza.
Last thing I googled: Probably something to do with the research I was doing yesterday. Details are classified.
Dream trip: I don't really want to go anywhere.
Anything I want right now: Barring obvious things like omnipotence and the like, it would be nice to have more energy and less pain. I want to do more things today.
Tagging: @st-just, @sadgrrly02, @cromulentenough, @floofshy, @moonlit-tulip, @phaeton-flier, @abhumanaex0, @akihatohnoofficial, @centrally-unplanned, and @explodingsilver if they want.
