When cetaceans breathe in, their heart rate briefly but notably increases, before dropping again in preparation for a dive. As a result, when taking a cetacean’s heart rate, you record the “splits”—the high and low rates following a breath.

#theres an online pastry program............#im gonna look into that as well as the vet tech program#part of me is so reluctant to give up on pastry but part of me says maybe i should stop trying to monetize my hobby#and i like the vet tech program bc its the same school i graduated high school from so i know how they teach#it can be challenging being online but ive done it before and im getting help for my adhd now#but when i was in normal college and they had online classes . i just Could Not#so idk about a different online school#theres just no other options#i need to find out more about their externship#bc thats the scariest part obviously#the vet tech program has 2#but the pastry program i dropped out of had 3 . i already did one. and the hours are literally insane#my friend who did a nurse practitioner thing (idk exactly idk how it works lol) had less internship hours#than the culinary program.#she is sticking people with needles.#and its only like that bc the head of the program is a power hungry control freak who thinks chefs shouldn't get breaks 😀#he made it to make us suffer. congratulations you succeeded and perhaps threw away my dream since I was 13 😀 are you happy chef ******

i am now a board-certified healthcare worker
#technically not yet because i still need to get the signature on my externship hours#but i passed the schooling and did the 180 hours of free labor and passed the national exam. so.#unsure wtf could go wrong now? all i have to do is get the sign off and wait for all the processes to communicate#(which can take up to 3 fucking weeks)#(which means i cant even apply for jobs yet because they need to see my certification first)#(ugh.)#(but im still gonna celebrate because godDAMN that was a long and stressful and difficult process)#excited to get paid at some point for my (if the externship indicates anything) frankly fucking excellent work! please hire me!

Workspace Environment
Today was our first day joining the team at Gannett Fleming. It was interesting to see how this office is not necessarily architecture based, but still intertwines well with engineering disciplines.
We got to experience different zoom calls where teams of different disciplines and offices got to meet to discuss advancements. I was really surprised to see how the different GF offices around the US work so seamlessly.

So I follow you and see you post stuff about SeaWorld sometimes. Doesnt SeaWorld not know how to care for aquatic mammals, don't they neglect the animals there
Hello! Thanks for the ask and the follow! If you’re philosophically opposed to cetaceans in captivity, that’s fine. It’s a hotly debated topic. But SeaWorld parks are actually AZA-accredited zoos and are held to the same standards as any others. I was fortunate enough to spend a month at one of the SeaWorld parks as an extern during my clinical year of vet school, and their animals are absolutely not neglected. The corporation is profit-driven like any other, but their staff is absolutely one of the most enthusiastic, passionate group of keepers I’ve met.

i got 99% on an exam i was dreading and i was sooo brave and i only threw up a little bit :) unfortunately i had to take 2 tabs of adderall at 4pm and subsequently i will not be escaping my dogshit sleep schedule tonight :( but i got 99% :)
#the one i missed was bullshit. normally all questions are formatted with the generic names so thats the direction i studied#this exam was backwards#if you asked me what classification irbesartan was i obviously wouldve known it was an angiotensin ii receptor blocker. duh.#but avapro? how do you get avapro from irbesartan?#it was multiple choice so i just went. 'okay. all i gotta do is recall all the generics for these 4 classifications and#from there i can hopefully remember all of the brands for each of them!'#reader. i did not do that.#avapro is not adalat. adalat is fucking nifedipine. unfortunately 'anti-hypertensive calcium channel blocker' was an option#ugh.#so close to 100%#whatever. the point is i dont have to retake it tomorrow. which is nice because tomorrow is for studying for#my institutional pharmacy final. which i CANNOT fail because then i would have to retake it on THE SAME DAY as my math final#i cant study on thursday (the day of my institutional final) because if all goes well im starting my externship that day#and finishing my shift one hour before class#so. again. i am VERY glad i passed this test#god ive got so. much. homework. to catch up with. and studying. fuck.#wont have much time to study for my math final because i took fri-sun shifts too and the math final is on monday#but thats fine because i am good at math. hashtag girl#no one will read all these tags but im journaling

since starting class a month ago i have been on time to class approximately 5 times. none of these times have been on thursdays. so i ask u all now
#michelle speaks#there is a specific reason why. so on thursday i have class for 8 hrs there r breaks but yeah#so on tuesdays & wednesdays i have class for a shorter time so i take my ritalin early & go back to sleep#but i can’t do that on thursdays bc i have class for so long. & ritalin makes it so that u cannot sleep while u have it in ur system#it usually wakes me up but even if not u cannot sleep on it u can go into like a fugue state at most 😭#that’s why they give it to ppl who have the sleep disorder where u randomly fall asleep#so anyway. when i wake up on thursdays i am totally rawdogging it PLUS i know i have 8 hrs of class#PLUS i know i have 8 hrs of my externship the next day so i have no will to live#which translates to me laying in my bed & making pathetic noises for 20 mins which leads me to be late#so given the information i have given i feel there is a correct answer to this poll#or there WOULD be. but i am going to beat the odds……i made it to class on time today 😊#also ftr i am on time to my classes that r not my first class of the day i am only late to the first one 😭
