Real talk, how is saying "Black Americans benefit from living in the U.S. so antiblackness isn't that bad." not the same thing as saying "Black Americans benefitted from being enslaved." Like I wanna know.

There's a whole essay someone smarter than me could write about how Christianity (specifically Western Christianity) in the Black community has both historically been important for us as a gathering of community, but also consistently holds us back from the kind of effective activism and political & international awareness many brilliant Black activists' minds have pushed for. And how that use of Christianity amongst other forms of violence to force us into that kind of subjugation was very much on purpose.

They’re calling my baby Gojo, Joseph Joestar now
Tumblr media
#rambling#the diff is that Gojo did apologize after being called out and face to face with his racism whilst Joseph literally befriended nazi’s 😵‍💫#and there was never any explanation from araki as to why he’d even wrote German soldiers in the shit in the first place like that was#absolutely jarring as hell to read for the very first time back when I’d gotten into jjba#well I watched it first but you know#like Joseph really thought fondly of Stroheim as this stand up guy even though he’s first of all#a Nazi#and second#the first scene that we were introduced to was of him sexually harassing a Woman#it’s……. 🗿#still to this day I wonder if araki had ever addressed this because lord#Joseph was just happy to get the help I guess but that felt so ooc for him from what he’d seen 🗣️#happily receiving the help of a Nazi and calling them a nice guy ahhh Joseph-#Gojo would never sjjsaj#my boo boo is a little prejudice but he’s working on it 🗣️#I still think that gege was trying to have a ‘racism is bad’ moment but again#the execution was pretty awkward and it felt out of place considering what had been currently going down in the manga#like the Racism was pretty random but it was swiftly put to a stop which I can appreciate even if it shouldn’t have been a point of#conversation to begin with since why couldn’t Miguel just exist as a character instead of him being the now token negro#who everyone sees as instantly more frighteningly powerful than everyone else like this didn’t even need to be brought up wllssldk#idk gege was trying to be ‘woke’ 😭. sorry nbs and wp ruined the term for me but like basically lol#gojo’s pretty intelligent and extremely gifted but he’s never been perfect lol#it’s just that idk why gege chose to talk about antiblackness in Japan out of nowhere about the only black character on screen hehhhhhh#like gege tried but lmfao#this is so funny to me#at least it didn’t drag on putting Miguel in an even more awkward situation than he already was and it was nipped in the bud quickly#Gojo isn’t one to dwell on things but when he’s face with new information and is taught something he does try to reflect and do better and#I’m sure he probably started to become even more aware of what he’s saying especially when talking to Miguel in an honest way since that’s#always been the kind of character who he was despite the horrors#the only ppl who’ve been kinda annoying about this are nbs and white people as always 🗿

according to larry koger in his book black south carolina , between the years 1790 and 1860, 10k slaves were owned by free black people in louisiana, maryland, sc and virginia. [which is approx. 1-2% of all people ever owned in the continental usa]. research done on the background of the owners shows that many themselves were former slaves (albeit situations varied. some were born as house slaves , or manumitted earlier from urban servitude .. but nonetheless these owners were themselves born in slavery and/or descended from immediate family born into slavery) & purchasing their own family members and were later restricted by the dominant (white) law in doing so and had to set quotas or Choose Between which one of ur own family members to BUY. speaking so flippantly on real life , tragic history with no research or care for the people & descendants involved is disgusting, no matter who you are.

"I hate how they have the power to kill my future-- kill me. They treat my black skin like a gun or a grenade or a knife that's dangerous and lethal. When, really, it's them. The guys at the top, powering everything."
x. "Ace of Spades", Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé
#Ace of Spades#Faridah Àbíké-Íyímídé#📚#so. as a rule i usually dont like books that center around school for extremely obvious reasons lol.#a young protag is one thing but a plotline that heavily revolves around school life is. issa no for me lol.#BUT i got recd this book&when i went to go look for reviews the first one listed ripped the book apart.#the language the reviewer used was... questionable seeing as systemic racism was the primary theme lol.#the next review i read however was by a reviewer who LOVED it. in fact the reviews i saw were split basically down the middle.#seeing as the primary theme was systemic racism+antiblackness (w a strong focus on microaggressions) in higher acedemia specifically#&socioeconomics in general it wasnt difficult to guess WHY the split was there lmao&i read the book&yeah lol.#anyway it wasnt like. a perfectly plotted book; like there were certain sideplots that were never really given closure#but its also the debut novel of a Nigerian British author who v specifically wrote a whole authors note#to detail the fact that she wrote the book during a v dark time in her life when she was dealing w systemic racism in academia#so the lack of closure on certain points sounds&feels like she wrote this book for a purpose&those themes werent it.#&the purpose&allegory she was trying to make was really well done. i hope she keeps writing.#... as an aside i was recd this book bc i was recd donna tart first&realized while reading the goldfinch that like.#theres a reason why i see her work clipped&out of context everywhere lmao shes racist as fuck.#nothing like being punched in the gut by the n word out of nowhere spoken by a yt character written by a yt author lmao.#... cannot understand why this woman is like. The End Word in dark academia fiction??? shes terrible???#so yeah i went looking for a better dark academia book lmao.#also found several articles about this issue w donna tartt so i guess i should have just googled it first LMAO.

why r u so mad about ppl preferring ten x madame de pompadour to ten x martha like ten/martha will never be a thing. ten don’t want anything to do with martha. he literally said to her face she wouldn’t replace rose… and she never did… isnt canon enough for you
hm.
im glad im only a scorpio on this alone. if martha deserved better than ten then so do all of em but anyway:
this ask is giving 2006/07 i dont want to see tenth doctor in a romantic relationship with a person of color because i can't project myself or relate to them if they arent the very thing being catered to me ever since the silent pictures vibes. u know the same vibe when rtd was told to not regenerate 14 in 13's clothes. just. Ick.
but im not mad. its just interesting for a ship so big as tenrose, it is usually correlated with hating madame de pompadour and/or joan and/or river [though in joan's case they hate her not because shes racist but because shes not rose]
though comics tend to release to combat that in multi doctor stories where they jump through various alternate universes of themselves where the doctor sees themselves settled down with dr. grace holloway (for 8th dr multi doctor stories) and professor melody williams/river song (for 11th dr multi doctor stories) where in those cases, they are frightful of the concept settling down at all. [take note that both times, he settles down in the same house that he owns bc of that unit paycheck on the dl] so i am curious that with this new drs, the equivalent of this would be 13 14 15 being terrified of settling down with rose because they had grown past her as this point.
i prefer the doctor in a polyromantic ace relationship than their umpteenth 🌟tragic heteronormative romance with yt human woman number 23445788764443356743🌟 i want 14 to sweep martha off her feet in pure joy and kiss her passionately while badmouthing tf out of 10 like 9 11 12 13 do with no filter before cradling her like a baby because hes about to crumble under his brand new identity complex and then take her kid to an amusement park and then 14 trips over a brick and dies. hell i rather have nina sosanya play a whole different lady in nod to doctor who recycles their actors trope as a way to introduce a love interest to 14
that amusment park one weirdly sounds like a 8th doctor audio. pls 🙏🏾 dont make it into one i couldnt handle schezro let alone the rest of his content. Empire of the Wolf made me so fucking worried for rose marion tyler like im just she back home 🫣. as for rose tyler from the sea devil universe still out about. whoop his ass. if billie come back as HER? MISS COVER MODEL MISS DICTATOR MISS EMPRESS ROSE?
Tumblr media
NOT
Tumblr media
i would love for ten to be strictly friends with the new miss empress rose. get that martha karma real quick ehehehehe after all rtd did say they need freema for somethin and im sure seeing 10 get treated the same way he treated martha by no other than empress rose herself -AND THEN EMPRESS ROSE FLIRTS WITH MARTHA??? FINGERS CROSSED??? im just saying that i personally will ride on that for 8 black history months and christmases straight like woo
also real glad it is collectively decided by every one that tentoo is just john smith not corin so yay thanks big finish and titan comics
#{lets see if i can scare this anon away listen i even made a graphic for this damn it. u better appreciate it i went all out for you}#{porn blogs and micro antiblack anons: this is why i dont share my shipping opinions much bc they stick to tv and i stick to everything}#{usually all this i gave to my aunt and we would have phone discussions and she would watch and call be like hey yeah! i see it}#{and she would say: but really it wasnt that for martha. it was the writing choices that was disapproved because not wanting another 💞}#{it went from classism for rose to racism for martha and she points that it wasnt catered to black fans in the rtd era}#{so yeah ten x martha wouldn't be a thing but only because test audiences and fans refused it due to the studios racial bias}#{10 wanted everything to do w martha. he just used rose as excuse and because of that 12 and 13 vocally to his face hates him for it}#{and we all fell for it: everybody did because like 12 said: its the bambi eyes. hook line and sucker}#{he wanted martha the whole time but he kept playing that hot n cold game to the wrong girl just bc it worked on 2 later 3 yt blonde women}#{4 yt women because of miss kylie minogue! all of a sudden he dont know how to counterflirt when a blk woman flirts back?}#{yes thats right im throwing miss claire pope AND IN THE GABBY GONZALES COMIC OF THE PPL OUTSIDE HER FAMILY LAUNDROMAT??}#{but yeah after losing donna suddenly supiciously hes not racist but extremely genocidal to death and death alone like hm.}#{his actions speak extremely louder than his words and in turn so does the fandom and its writers}#{4 yt blondes and hes willing to believe in them despite him having to permanently lose them but completely have lil faith in the blk one?}#{ ten never actually go back to martha. be fair if i forgave the person that enslave her family for a missing year? yeah i wouldnt either}#{we could never be together because of a yt woman i chose to leave behind three times with her mum for 'safety' boy bye}#{and i go around and almost in one whole episode almost left her behind AGAIN for madame de pompadour another blonde yt woman?}#{like i ship them i ship all of em but if they were all hanging off a cliff side? 🤧 😔 we gather here today in the loss of 🌹 and depomp}#{dont worry at least 9 would leap after rose.}#bw: out of ethos#answered#anonymous#bw: long post#{i made a long post just so i surprise you with a cute billie graphic thats all. that the main topic}

💀💀💀
sorry for still thinking abt this it just makes me physically i’ll anyway one thing i’ve noticed in the discourse over whether the people kidnapped from their homeland and shipped to a growing empire to benefit from the global imperialism enacted by said empire in the ensuing couple centuries is the conflation of how things claim to work vs how they actually do. its not exactly de jure vs de facto but that’s how it feels? just because US citizenship is intended to grant citizens a massive amt of privileges over the entire world doesn’t mean ppl actually see these benefits in their lives. so like what are the implications of ‘black ppl have american privilege’ even supposed to be? how are we supposed to move on after accepting this claim? are black americans supposed to redistribute their wealth (that they don’t have) or use their elevated platform (that they don’t have) to ally with (nonblack, i’ve not seen one person bring up US intervention in african countries) people in the global south (who benefit from and engage in antiblackness) or to renounce american citizenship and all benefits that come with it (which they never experienced anyway) to live in a US-enemy state (where they will continue to experience antiblackness) like what the fuck is the point of saying this
post was mad with zero evidence or research as usual ❤️ this is my blog

solidarity is for white people
i don't blame qpocs for feeling ostracized and alienated from the lgbt/queer community, especially when the most vocal of us are white, benefit from racism, and a lot of us even weaponize our whiteness
we are never going to stand as a unionized front against our cishetallo oppressors as long as there are intercommunity issues between our different sexualities and genders, and races. and especially not when there are so called queer factions within the queer community who hate intersectionality with everything they have.
we can't just put aside our issues and "focus on the bigger picture" when so many of us treat qpocs like shit for having vastly different experiences and presentations than white queers. we NEED to start listening to their needs and wants before we white people focus on our own, whether that's smaller issues or bigger ones that keep us from being truly intersectional.
and yes this includes slur discourse. ._.

kinda crazy to me how biden's insane antiblackness is just kinda never brought up in popular discourse (with the exception of the crime bill Sometimes) despite the fact that he is still, as recently as this week, being extremely antiblack in public and him being chill with segregation was a major sticking point in 2020
