A nice flush of outdoor oyster mushrooms, a good memory from this summer as the w ather gets a lil nasty right now. Love the snow, hate the soggy. Love the warmth, hate the climate change implications.
Looking forward to figuring out basement mushrooms for year round production. Provided the basement isn't constantly filled with at least an inch of water.

ooowee! the garden is coming along!
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
the millet is strong, the stalks are turning purple. and while the quinoa looks a little sun soaked, they seem to be thriving.
the flower/herb bed seems happy, with calendula leading the bunch. drip lines are working.
Titan's been moving earth early every morning to finish beds for our remaining seedlings and we've been planting in the evening to give the plants time to recover before high sun.

The real solution to the environ-mental crisis is the decolonization of the black race. Blacks in the United States number more than 25,000,000 people, comprising a kidnapped and captive nation surpassed in size by only twenty other nations in the entire world. It is necessary for blacks to achieve self-determination acquiring a full black government and a multi-billion dollar budget so that blacks can better solve the more serious environmental crises of blacks. To do so blacks must challenge and confront the very foundations of American society. In so doing we shall correct that majority which appears to believe that the solution lies in decorating the earth's landscape and in shooting at the moon.

sound is the soft peeping of 10 week old faverolles and Dominique pullets and cockerels. seriously, try it on repeat. so soothing.

There's been some rearranging of the roosts since first placement didn't work out. If the little is roosting (which she is) then the others might follow suit. She seems to drive the formation of piles, cause she has protectors that want to keep her warm.
They're big and happy though!
A well integrated flock,

The gardens are starting to come together. We have peas climbing their trellises!

Bed making will go faster now that I've figured out the hoe. Titan started lining the lower flower bed with rocks dug out of upper beds.
The drip lines from fedco have been working well, with minimal leaking.

But yay peas!

We got to see a wonderful spoken word and musical performance outdoors! Gay Black male in his 60s, living magically in rural Vermont with all the micro and macro aggressions that carries. Resonated so much.

Fall harvest should be pretty alright for small homestead scale.

Now that we're starting to understand what grows well here, we can plan for overwintering and focusing next year's planting schedule.
