Nas'hrah I believe somewhere at the museum mentions The Girl and he says something along the lines of "--that kid, whatever her name was,--" which implies that she Did have a name, which makes sense (pretty much everyone but Enki would give her a name and he very explicitly was not the one who led her to ending A), but it's nice to have a canon confirmation she did have a name

victor hugo ended one chapter on the word "merde!" and then wrote a three-page follow-up chapter to justify including such a bad word in his book. and the best part is that i just looked up a contemporary translation and discovered that the translator (isabel f. hapgood) replaced the "merde" with "-----". so she ended a chapter on a bleep and then went ahead and translated the next chapter about why she shouldn't bleep out that word. incredible.

I'm quitting flight rising.

I dont know if it's permanent but what I do know is that I'm tired of how staff treats the community. Making broad rules to "punish bad actors", going back on their own standards of what is allowed, releasing features and content half baked to the point it reads waaay worse than what's intended, the list goes on.

As an accent maker I can say that my lifelong accent sales have earned the site easily thousands of dollars worth of premium currency sales, so for them to have shafted the accent making side of the site and then finally update it only to imply that every accent maker is chomping at the bit to *checks notes* sexualize "underage" fictional dragons (which isn't a real thing, they're fucking dragons they're not real, and also the "underage" dragons could have already fucked so like??? Who's sexualizing what again???) is just. It's insulting. It's functionally conservative. It's patronizing.

Flight rising has made blunder after blunder and they refuse to slow down because "oh we already made the schedule we have to keep with it and we're a small team so it's a lot of work!" Like! You made your own fucking schedule! And if needed to you could delay shit but you have to fucking communicate. And you don't!

I'm quitting. I'm done. I'll probably be deleting this blog after a while since there's no point keeping it up.

............ok so who comforts mc in chapter 8 and afterwards is definitely not based on who you choose the most heart options with in book 2...it's either based on heart options chosen in book 1 or its based on who has the most social quests. I restarted book 2 and romanced only Imtura but again, it was Nia who comforted mc not Imtura despite no heart options chosen in book 2. I'm thinking it takes in consideration of the number of heart options you take in book 1...because Imtura didn't show up till like chapter 7 or so. And I refuse to restart all the way back to book 1 so I guess Nia is just going to care for mc more than Imtura because I can NOT get Imtura to act like a main LI despite choosing her everytime....

I've seen a handful of those 'what do you use to write your fics?' polls/questions and every time they never list how I do it. I'm starting to wonder if its so out of the box its the the equivalent of writing out your grocery list in your car on an old McDonald's napkin with a broken colored pencil. Which I only bring up because that is how I write my grocery lists almost every time. (The pencil is blue)

i love it when ciri steps into geralt's role in the endings to the story :')

from the lesser evil, one of the original short stories and before ciri had even been concieved of as a character:

to the very end on the stairs in lady of the lake:

asides from "geralt quickly covered ciri with his body" and "very good, but if you ever do that again, i'll tan your hide"—that ciri successfully pulls off the same move, deflects the crossbow bolt with her sword, like geralt has :') oh, witcher and witcher girl...

and in this same vein, it should also be mentioned, geralt and nenneke's parting at the end of the voice of reason:
