APTI - Bury my dreams, dig up my sorrows

"Arthur? No no no! ARTHUR! ... I'm going to kill 'em. I'll tear them apart!"

Anyhoo, I started this at around the same time as "Malison," but almost gave up on it because I kept facewrecking Melie in case you couldn't tell 😅 Sheesh, Arthur's pose was the really difficult part, though. As was the background.

After completing the game, thinking of Melie's whole ordeal got me listening to "Angels Fall First" by Nightwish, so I drew this. Also because the characters' facial expressions in the cutscenes looked kind of stiff to me sometimes. But the otherwise beautiful visuals and unbelievable voice acting more than make up for it 👌

Despite having some empathy deficits and never having experienced a loss that left me in unable-to-function levels of grief, I felt REALLY bad for Melie 😞 *SPOILERS AHEAD* First she and Arthur run away from their abusive father and have to steal to survive, then the Inquisition's after them and they can't see eye to eye with each other on what to do about it, they get into an argument, Lord Nicholas ambushes the group, and Melie comes out of the chateau to find her brother's corpse 😰 And there's said to be a special bond between twins, like they're two halves of the same person... Then once the game is wrapped up, Melie leaves the De Runes in her grief and...she's well and truly on her own then 😞
