Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I wish Jellal was allowed to be angry.

Not just sorrowful.

Not just self-sacrificing.

Or self-punishing.

But furious at what was done to him. At the life he lost. At the way he’s expected to carry the weight of actions he wasn’t fully conscious of, with grace and silence.

He’s always shown as composed in his guilt, patient in his atonement—which is admirable. But sometimes it feels like it’s flattening him into a symbol of repentance, and erasing the complexity of what he endured.

He was a child. He was manipulated. He bled, he hurt, and he was twisted into something he didn’t choose.

He lost YEARS of his life in containment, upon containment, upon containment.

Years he’ll never get back.

Jellal is one of the characters who objectively suffered the most in Fairy Tail, but the narrative rarely lets the audience sit with that. His pain is shifted away, reframed through others, or skipped over entirely.

We never really get to see him process it on his own terms.

I guess what I’m trying to say is: I don’t want Jellal to be a parable.

I want him to be a person.

Let him feel what was done to him. Let him process that he was wronged, too—that he’s not just someone who caused pain, but someone who experienced it, deeply. It’s not about removing accountability—it’s about letting him grieve and exist outside of guilt.

He doesn’t need to be calm and noble all the time. That’s not healing. That’s just another kind of silence.

Let Jellal scream. Let him ask why. Let him mourn the life he never got to live—not as a villain, not as a saint, but as someone who deserves that emotional space.

I have a lot of thoughts on Jellal and how his character was handled, and I already have a breakdown/long post coming up which tackles another topic but I might make one for this sentiment too.

But as of now, I just needed to get this part off my chest.

Fairy tail fans, can you all explain something to me?

WHAT IS WITH DRAGON SLAYERS AND CELESTIAL WIZARDS?!?!?!

I'm genuinely curious about this. And if you don't know what I'm talking about. Allow me to set a few examples

Exhibit A: Nalu

Fire dragon slayer meets celestial wizard

Exhibit B: Yukino x Sting

And lastly, Exhibit C: Acnologia x Anna

The black dragon and a descendant of a celestial wizard and the teacher of the dragon slayers

Is there a connection I'm not seeing here? What is with dragon dudes who can annihilate a city and destroy the world falling for very powerful women who can summon zodiac beings and are the most strongest cosmic witches in the world?

I'm not complaining, but I'm trying to figure out the connection.

somehow i feel really sad for erza because meanwhile everyone in the guild has their soulmate IN the guild and can see them more or less whenever they want, the girl doesn't get to see her lover often. now with the last fairy tail chapter and with 100yq we know that erza goes on dates with jellal and can see him more than before as he's been freed or smth, but still. he's not a member of the guild. he's not here to fight together and protect everyone with her, he's not here to celebrate their victories and all. she gets to see gray and juvia flirting, natsu and lucy having fun together, gajeel and levy prolly talking about their baby all the time, even eflman and ever quarreling... and her lover is not here with her to share all those things.

now i get why she told him to join the guild. she just freaking misses him so much.

how do we think is the richest in fairy tail? Or at least the most financially responsible (because we'll know none of em have a steady pay check with those damage fees 💀💀)

my guess is Mira + siblings cause they seem reliable and they probably work together, Evergreen; although probably anyone in the thunder legion because they all seem pretty responsible, juvia?? possibly don't ask why but she doesn't give broke energy

........For some reason because it had been a really long time since I last watched Fairy Tail, some Mendela shit happened where I apparently thought Erza's full name was "Erza Ironheart" which like........holy fuck that's cheesy, even for Fairy Tail, wth Brain?

every now and then i look back on this GIF i have of nalu during tartaros arc and cry about how this particular scene alone solidifies the beauty of their relationship (natsu holding lucy's hand gently in the face of chaos and panic did wonders to my heart)

There are a lot of things I will NEVER forgive the fairy tail creators for and a lot of things that I would've personally changed about the series. But right now, I'm gonna focus on one, and that is our darling Michelle Gonzalez Lobster Heartfilia.

When her betrayal was revealed and her story just ended with her going back into doll form. I literally cried my eyes out and my heart broke, and I still do every time i watch those episodes. THIS WOMAN JUST WANTED HER SISTER AGAIN!!!!😭😭😭😭.

Her ending sucked, so like any other sane fan, I denied the ending completely and made my own results on what happened.

By some magical miracle, Michelle came back to her human form, and it became a Pinocchio situation. How, you ask? I have no freaking idea, but it's fairy tail, they have magic, and almost nothing make sense.

Michelle comes back to life, and she joins Fairy Tail. She still has magic to transform into imitatia and works alongside Mirajane at the guild. Michelle becomes roommates with Lucy, and they both become real genuine sisters and Michelle starts developing her relationships with not just Lucy but everyone in the guild. She also trains with Lucy and sometimes will join Lucy and her team on quests to earn money. Michelle also learns to grow on her magic with Erza and Mirajane, and imitatia becomes one of many forms that she has. She now becomes a strong member of Fairy Tail and changes her name to Michelle Gonzales Heartfilia, little sister to Lucy Heartfilia

This is the world i live in, and I WON'T LET ANYONE TAKE IT FROM ME!!! MICHELLE AND LUCY DESERVED BETTER AND YOU CAN'T TELL ME OTHERWISE!!!!!!!

redesigning star dresses part 1!

keep this in mind i love the og stardresses! i just wanted to challenge myself and i’m an inspiring fashion designer!!! my goal was to create dresses that reflect the spirits and u could easily match them up.

these were my initial sketches, i wanted every dress/outfit to have a different colour and silhouette to make them more recognisable.

aries ~

- pink was the obvious choice for a colour. I didn’t want to use any major black like in the og design because aries design is so light and bright!

- i really think the og stardress hair is lacking. A fun fluffy 80s hair adds to the whole sheep aesthetic and creates a different silhouette to other designs.

- the 80s hair also inspired a more 80s look with fluffy legwarmers and big hoop earrings.

- i also wanted to bring in those pink pompoms on the side of aries dress so i made them star shaped and put them in lucy’s hair

taurus ~

- why put her in a bikini if she’s a cowboy??? this haunts me everyday.

- I couldn’t put her in mainly black and white cos that’s virgo i comprised and landed on a brown.

- for inspiration it was pretty obvious to go with a cowboys and the wild west! i always disliked the one leg pants her og design has so i modified it to a cut out.

- her og design was a mix of the aquarius and scorpio one and it always didn’t stand out to me, so i think by exaggerating the cowboy aesthetic it stands out much more.

gemini ~

- her og design is actually one my favs. so i really only made minor changes

- the colours stood out against other dresses and were easily identified as gemini. the dual colour symmetrical dress is a great way to reflect the double spirit.

- Gemini is a pretty symbol spirit so to reflect them i used circular shapes and organic lines. i changed the head piece mainly because i struggled drawing it but i realised it made the design too top heavy anyways.

- i extended the dress width and length mainly for silhouette reasons (she wears so many skin tight dresses) as well as to give a nod to the dresses the alternate geminis wear.

cancer ~

- my issue with cancer star dress isn’t the dress itself. I actually love the dress in the manga. it’s the colour. WHY IS GREEN?!?

- if it weren’t for the symbol i wouldn’t be able to match this dress with cancers design, so it had to change.

- other than that there’s no major differences, the ribbon tie is meant to resemble scissors, i love the claw shape hair ties in the og design so i brought them back and i brought the stripes in cancers top to her bow.

leo ~

- i was inspired by beauty and the beast, in the movie the beast kinda looks like lion.

- i swapped the yellow and black in the og design since it has a pretty similar colour story to virgos dress. The og kinda gets lost next to leo since the black doesn’t have variation and leo is in a deep black too.

- i wanted to make her hair bigger like a lions mane and curled around her face.

Natsu Dragneel thinks Lucy Heartfilia is weird and these are the reasons why:

- The first time he meets her, she thanks him and he’s confused because he didn’t do shit except get beat up by random women, yet she tells him that she’s somehow thankful for him

- She treats him and Happy to food, and they alternate between listening to her and stuffing their faces with meat. She talks about magic and guilds, and gushes about Fairy Tail and dreams of joining his family

- She wrecks an entire harbor and freaks out, as if Natsu didn’t do half the damage himself, but joins him when he invites her to run away with him

- Lucy is so confusing, Natsu thinks. She wears clothes that reveal much of her skin, uses her sex appeal for bargains, reads those romance novels, but gets shy at the slightest talks of love

- She forms a team with him and he picks a job requiring a blonde maid, and he thinks it’s so silly of her to dress up with a maid costume and call him master

- He finds out she’s an heiress, and he almost wants to laugh because she’s an heiress of railways and trains, and he actually laughs when he realizes that Lucy had been affecting him even before they met

- She acts like a princess most of the time, obvious in how she speaks and carries herself, and Natsu is once again reminded that she grew up with wealth but then some of her quirks show through, like how thrifty she is with money, and the irony of it all isn’t lost on him

- She looks for love most of the time, and when the opportunity presented itself in a black-haired guy who loved to read and was interested in celestial spirits, she blew it all off to join him and Happy on a job

- She jumps off a fucking tower just because she knew he’d catch her, and he did but for a second he thought he wouldn’t make it, and when he catches her, his heart beats so loudly it could almost burst out of his ribcage

- He is confused; he died as a human, was brought to life as a demon, and grew up as the son of a dragon, and lived life as a fairy tail mage. He asks Lucy how he looks like and she smiles and says like Natsu, and he collapses against her chest in relief

- Lucy cries a lot and it is a common misconception that she’s the weakest one in their team, but Natsu knows Lucy is definitely the strongest

- He is once again confused when she doubts her abilities because why would she ever feel like she is the weakest? She is a Celestial spirit mage who has 10 out of the 12 Zodiac keys, all of whom adore her in addition to having the Celestial Spirit King’s favor, she’s done leaps and bounds in terms of magic, especially for someone who has only started seriously using their magic at age 17 whereas the entire guild has started practicing it ever since they were kids, and Lucy is one of the best mages in Fairy Tail despite her incredibly short time in wielding her power

- She breaks into him and Happy’s house to clean, and throws a fit when she realizes they weren’t coming home, but softens up when she finds them asleep in her apartment

- She’s weird. She’s so weird and loud and she hides inside a clock to escape the cold weather instead of just wearing a jacket.

- He loves her, though. Natsu would never trade Lucy for anything, he loves her with all of his heart, all of her weirdness and quirky traits and the way she hugs him is nice and she smells comforting and he feels safe around her
