So, since we know Mephistopheles sent Haarlep to Raphael, does that mean Haarlep was hanging around Mephistopheles' fortress when Raphael was still living there? Did they grow up passing each other in the halls, the neglected and angry prince ignoring the looks the slave gave him when he stomped past? Then Raphael moves out and comes home one day to see Haarlep on his bed going "haaaiii!! 😁" and Raphael's just, "what are YOU doing here??"

raphael and mephistopheles' relationship clearly has some complexity, because raphael has a portal into cania that he can clearly use, so i think tbh 100% raphael didn't grow up spending a lot of time on the material plane. alternatively, given his fondness for mortals, if his mother was human, he may have spent his very initial youth on the material plane and then was claimed by mephistopheles after a point

but mephistopheles only cares about anything in so far as it can serve his experiments and his research, so any time raphael spent in cania would've been miserably under mephistopheles' thumb. even with a place in mephistopheles' court, he wouldn't have had any freedom there, and i think he took the first opportunity he could to get out of there and make his own way as a devil. the soul pillars & that his house seems to run on something that might be souls, could be part of the things he learned during his time in cania

i'm getting away from myself but my point is!!! i have never thought about haarlep and raphael crossing paths in cania before they're in the house of hope together. it's such a fun idea

my personal headcanon is that haarlep is younger than raphael and worked their way into mephistopheles' court in the hope of something resembling better station as an incubus, and that they didn't meet until they were posed to essentially be... immovable object meets unstoppable force. raphael is not so easily distracted even by a gift like that, but haarlep was never going to return to cania, either. (that way almost certainly would result in haarlep's demise. it works out best for them both if haarleep stays.)

Have you ever had a dream suddenly remind you of an old FO you haven't thought of in years? Because I just dreamed about a character I had an enormous crush on in middle school that I completely forgot existed until now. It was like someone threw a brick at my face through the window lol.

The unfortunate thing is that it's C.A.R.T.E.R. from the old Disney Replacements cartoon and there's literally no content of him online. Just none. If the show was more popular he might have had a chance--who doesn't love a smarmy, British, talking car who only barely tolerates the family he still passionately protects? Sigh. Guess I gotta make my own fanart of him.

Have you ever had something like that? I remember you like XR (good taste, he's super cute) but even he has more out there than this character from a random, obscure show. Sigh-le-sequel.

Usually for me I’m in the middle of doing something mundane and they’ll pop in my head or a post of a character will show up on my dash that I haven’t thought about in awhile.

And I think I remember hearing about that show years ago and it kinda just disappeared?? But I understand having a crush on a obscure character, like I have one on Danger Planet and he’s only in a tv pilot! But making fan art of obscure characters can be fun sometimes, but it does suck too. And good old XR!! I think about him every once in awhile :D

I rarely have dreams about fictional characters, like it’s very rare for me, but there’s some that have made appearances though in the past, so I get what you mean.

My fav is the Arlan piece!!! The quality-to hours spent ratio was pretty good for once!!! It were around 4 hrs of arting, in comparison to all the other pieces taking wwaaaaay longer or me not being exactly satisfied w/ the shading! :D

I rlly like the background and water shading on the piece for YoyoyoRiooo, but it's so simple too (to the fault of me having not enough time obviously to pump out quality drawings in under 2 days obv)

Again, not gonna yap too much, bc I've lately been a lil overwhelmed on social aspects. Just enjoy the art instead of my ramblings instead. One thing I'll mention- I'm glad that my artstyle thank god looks OK with fullbody drawings, I was out of my comfort zone w/ drawing perspectives and fullbodies in my new artstyle so yeah!! ^-^

Another artfight, but this one's a bit more complicated! You see, Saesha's an interpretation of an Aligned version of Sari Sumdac by Fairyhaven13, and aside from her Cybertronian form Vizard, the original idea was that each of her alien forms are drawn from species that exist on Artfight... They actually don't have types! They are a single species of marsupial that went extinct in 1936 due to hunting, as far as we know. Unlike say, tigers and wolves, they didn't have different breeds between them - they were themselves a type of marsupial. And one of my favorite animals of all time! ^3^

They were one of the only two marsupials to have a pouch in both sexes (The other one is the water opossum which still lives today). The female used her pouch to nurture and carry the babies like kangaroos. The babies were born vaginally similar to mammals, but they would be born in a 'fetus' like state, and finish developing in the pounch. Meanwhile the male's pouch extended over his genitals to protect them (which seems useful tbh, they just be hanging there in mammals)

That's a momma with an extended pouch! She's got babies in there :3

Despite being a digitigrade animal (walked on its digits, like dogs) they would stand up on a plantigrade position when on its back legs (digits + sole of the foot, like humans), kind of like a kangaroo! That's why its ankle was so low compared to dogs/wolves, who are always digitigrades

You can def see a bit of kangaroo in there! :P

They were Tasmania's apex predator, aka no other animal would hunt it other than humans. I read once this might have contributed to them being fearless and not hiding as much, which made them easier to hunt and eventually lead to their extinction, similar to Dodos

They're also one of the best known examples of convergent evolution! Which is when different species develop the same body shape/features even though they aren't related bc they have the same needs. They are not related to foxes or wolves but are REALLY similar. There was once a vet school that would use a Thylacine skull in their tests to trick their students, and one student said 'if they ask you to identify what a wolf-like skull is, it's safer to guess Thylacine bc a wolf would be too obvious for a test'. That's how similar they are, but their last shared ancest was millions of years go. Their needs and habitats just shaped them in a similar way!

I also actually made a mistake in my a post about them, so correcting it here. This picture was used in the past as proof that Thylacines were hunting farm animals, to get hunters to shoot them. That part is true, but I said it was likely faked with a mounted one to spread propaganda (which is the common story behind this pic)

Turns out it's not a mounted one! That one was alive in the pic, which we know bc there's more pics of it in the same moment!

HOWEVER, it was STILL propaganda! The first picture was cropped to hide a fence (which you can see in the other pics), which most likely means it was in a zoo and was given those chickens as a meal by the keepers. It didn't hunt them!

Although they may have hunted farm animals, their danger to livestock was hugely exaggerated. They were calm and harmless to humans, just showing their fangs when they felt threatened. Meaning the species died out for nothing, over a lie

And they could open their mouths in a 90-120 degree angle! Whenever they yawn you they really just go >0<

Currently, they are the extinct species with the most alleged sightings over the years. A lot of people think that means they're still out there; I personally think it's unlikely they survived unfortunately - the hunting was too intense.

To me, they are a fascinating animal, and a painful sour reminder of how humans can use our power for bad. Fascinating, but gone. And it's so painful to me how limited the pictures and videos we have of them are, with no way of making new content now :(

They are a cautionary tale. A ghost of the 20th century that faded into obscurity and has now gained a almost mystic status - is it real? Does it still exist? Are they hiding somewhere out there? Who knows. Maybe someday we'll find a new one lurking in the shadows of Tasmania and proving the species never died out. Maybe they'll be gone forever

But regardless, they're amazing <3

I finally felt motivated for another social media post!! I got quite a bit to post soon again, as I lately started to feel my motivation return so I draw faster!! I couldn't finish the 4th piece in time as at the time there I was stuck quite in some burnout with myself AND my art, but on the art-side it's healed for sure!! :w;

I get that you have a bunch of issues with the comic, but I just started following you and now I'm getting the impression my enjoyment of the comics will only lead to a tirade... it's unfortunate because I genuinely love reading them and I love the characters, both Archie before it was canceled and IDW now. But, every post you seem to make at the moment is a lecture about why they're bad and why we shouldn't enjoy them, completely with a ton of sarcasm and derision. Maybe I just followed at a bad time.

The thing is, most of my ‘lectures’ come from me having loved the comics at the beginning. I want Flynn to improve, and everytime someone comes in with a post trying to get a rise out of me I get eager to clown on them, no matter if that’s thier intention or naught. I’m not trying to incite that you shouldn’t like the comics when I do talk about the comics, but I understand it can come across as that at points, and I wouldn’t be mad if you decided to unfollow me for it.

I get really aggressive of some things Flynn has done because he was once a fan, and I feel that he should have learnt some of the stuff we’ve been commenting on before hand. Maybe it’s a bit optimistic of me to assume that’s the case, but I have written Sonic fanfiction both in the past and the present, and I feel being able to understand story structure is a part of fan writing in general.

If it makes you feel better, I’m going to turn off anon for now, so that I don’t rise to the bait of the troll anons anymore, nor will I comment on any other IDW stuff that comes in. I’ll offically no longer comment on IDW from here on out.
