The Foundation of Faith: Our entry into God's family is not based on our merits but on our faith in Jesus Christ. This faith acts as the bridge that connects us to the divine, transforming our identity from mere mortals to beloved children of God. It’s a humbling and exhilarating realization that we belong to the Creator of all.

Unconditional Love: As children of God, we experience His unconditional love. Unlike human relationships that may falter or fade, God's love for us is steadfast and unchanging. He loves us not because of what we do, but because of who we are—His children. This love is a source of immense comfort and strength, empowering us to face life's challenges with confidence.

A Heavenly Inheritance: Being part of God's family means we are heirs to His promises. “But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those under the law, that we might receive adoption to sonship.” - Galatians 4:4-5

It’s Advent, and during Advent, we are reminded of what happened thousands of years ago. We are reminded about how our Savior came into the world and saved us from our sins. Yet, most of the time, we get so caught up with the celebration. We are focused on celebrating the celebration that we forgot who we are celebrating or the reason for the season. We must understand that Christ is the reason for the season. He is the reason, and there’s no other reason. 

So, our verse today is a reminder that He is indeed our reason for the season. During the perfect time, God indeed sent His Son for us. We need to understand that our salvation was all under the plans of God. The moment we sin and fall short, God has already planned our salvation. He already thought of the plan to save that through the sacrifice of His Son, we will then be cleansed and forgiven. So, the Lord Jesus Christ has to be born under the law, brought up to this dirty and cruel world, and then die for us who are also under the law so that we will be put under grace. 

Now, we must understand that it is not just merely a celebration, but it is our great salvation. Jesus Christ’s coming to the world indeed needs to be celebrated because it was the moment we were given a chance to be redeemed. However, let us not fool ourselves and hide behind the ornaments. We are sinful, and we will remain sinful, but praise be to God for He saved us and He wants us to be in Him. He doesn’t want us to suffer, He wants to save us, but the truth remains, we need Christ as our Lord and Savior. 

Therefore, let us always remember that Christ was born under the law to save us who are under law to put us under grace and so that we will be adopted to sonship. We will become the co-heirs of Christ. We are now part of the family of God. We were adopted into His family through Christ. Now, the reason for the season is Christ and our celebration of the salvation we will receive through Him. He came to the world as an innocent child, and He died without sin to carry our sins. Thus, we must never forget all of these and be reminded that Jesus is the reason for the season.

THANK GOD FOR FAMILY

Romans 14:10-   But why do you judge your brother? Or why do you show contempt for your brother? For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ.

We must be grateful to be given one among the most precious things God could give us and that is our family. From small family to big family, they are still the same, they love one another. We deserve a sense of belongingness, and to be loved. Our family is there to be with us, to support for us, to care for us in this challenging journey of life. It is unfortunate to live in a house where there are conflict, hatred, arguments, and envy. It must be love, joy, and peace that should prevail inside a home. No one would want to have a broken home. Selfishness and pride could tear up the family.

Others are blessed with a family, a relative that is not blood related but still stands as a mother or father figure, a guardian to be exact. They are a blessing from the Lord so that we would be guided, and be disciplined in our lives. You still belong to a family, and you are not alone. No man is an island, and we need each other’s back. Know that among the families in this world, the best is the family of God. The church. An eternal family that follows God, and are related by faith. we are commanded to be in fellowship with another. To be a salt and light that encourages, helps, and   spiritually uplifts people. As brothers and sisters in Christ, pray for one another.

Let go of any bitterness, and hatred toward others. Throw out criticisms, jealousy, and pride. Love your neighbor just as how Jesus taught us. If we do this, we will receive what God has promised us. A joyful life with abundant blessings in return.

YOU ARE #1 IN OUR EYES SCRIPTURE: Colossians 2:23-24 It is super easy to sit in the stands or at home in front of the TV & make different calls than the coach on the field in the heat of the game. It is easy to see all the missed calls, the calls that go the wrong way, & all the calls that seem to be nit picky. How do you act, what are you yelling from the stands, would you be shouting the same things from the church pew?!? Speaking from a place of guilt & shame at times in my life, anyone who knows me or has played with my kiddos knows that I AM PASSIONATE about the sports they play. That may be a slight understatement there. Either way, I have coached my kids from the stands their whole lives, I am loud & always proud, I am abrasive, but my heart is truly in the right place. However, there is not one ounce of proof in that by the way I have acted in the past at ball games. Last night, we went to watch our middle school #WARRIORNATION play in the county championship. The boys played their hearts out. No room for ANY shame in how they played! They gave all they had! Super proud of ALL our boys. Boys...hold your head up!!! Was it a fair game? I guess that depends on which side you were pulling for. Bottom line is this right here...life is not fair!!! That's a FACT, you can take to the bank & cash that in. You better believe that as parents, coaches, friends & family that we set an example for our children in the way they behave when life is not fair. They are watching us to decide how they are suppose to behave when life hits them fairly OR not so much so. What are they learning?? So join me today as I beg God to forgive me for bad behavior that was unbecoming a child of God. Ask our Father in heaven to guide our steps & our mouth as we cheer on & coach our kids. Everything seems to happen all at once and she doesn't understand that mommy isn't her 24/7 playmate. 😔 . Every time I get a schedule down something comes up. I'm tired of being everyone's go to person just when they need me with not even a thank you. 😡 .
