Lovely children ages 3-5 built a garden today , creating bamboo structures and supports, and planted a variety of plants from the @wyldecenter The children showed so much care and attention for the plants. Last Thursday, I attended the Farm to PreSchool Culinary Skills Training in Columbia, SC. So great to come back to Northside Baptist Church preschool and do a wonderful program series. I saw old friends and made new friends like Lillian, this wonderful garden educator , who gifted me a precious ladybug necklace!!We will be installing garden structures next month and planting. Today we learned about beneficial bugs like worms, honey bees, carpenter bees, and bumble bees and of course ladybugs and butterflies too. Our first harvest together! I'm proud of this sweet school for trying new things, getting dirty , and starting to garden! Today we harvested our first crop together And the cook is so excited to use both the radishes and the greens! We are beautifying a preschool garden tomorrow. Little hands will paint dots on the eyes and on the bodies of the seasoned ladybugs. I will put masking tape over the words and the kids can dot away. After we will reveal the words and tada! Collaboration, art and gardening are my favorite things.
