Arriving in Farsund after crossing the surprisingly calm waters of Skagerrak followed by fights with the Norwegian welcoming committee of a somehow not unimposing thunderstorm, a decent hail party coming along with a couple of proper waves.

Days before we started with the traditional sailing vessel “Zuversicht” (confidence) in Kiel and started the adventure of discovering the Seas between the Kiel Fjord and Stavanger. Later, we moved on to the Jostedal glaciers and continued our discoveres there.

Every year, the project ‘KlimaSail’ offers the opportunity for about 20 youth groups to set sails and start adventurous days in the Baltics and beyond. Along the way, the group discovers the surroundings and discusses a lot of topics relating to the current and future situation of human-environment relations at local and global scale. In fact, what actually matters much more is the time spent together as a group, far from everyday life, experiencing every single moment, grasping new ideas and floating in inspiring moments.

Since a couple of years, I accompany groups with this project and somehow got addicted to the special challenges and atmosphere.
