Greetings Friends,⁠ I was so very lucky that almost 6 years ago being part of an expedition cruise organised by the by the Oceanwide Expedition Group to the North Pole. The Adventure started in Longyearbyen the town closest to the Pole. Here the visual impressions I've got touring this part of the world in June 2017⁠ Possible medieval discoveries of Svalbard by Vikings or PomorsSome scholars believe the Vikings, who were active in the area of Svalbard during the Middle Ages, were the first to discover it. Starting in the 1800s, Norwegian historians began asserting that Vikings discovered the region as early as 1194. They base this claim on maps and annals that list a place called Svalbarði (the basis for the name Svalbard, which translates to “cold rim”) roughly a four-day sail from Iceland. No physical remains have been found, however, that support this claim. Russian historians, on the other hand, believe the Pomors may have landed at Svalbard back in the 1400s. Late night Tromso (РУС ниже)

Each time I travel somewhere, I like taking night shots. Tromso wasn't an exception!

Photographer Notes I rarely use a tripod. Sometimes I regret it, but I barely have the patience to unfold it each time. Most of the time, I rely on the image stabilizer. This way, I get a greater variety of shots and angles. My Canon R6 with stabilized lens usually allows going as low as 0.5 of a second. Usually, one of 3 images is sharp.

Я люблю делать ночные снимки, когда путешествую. Тромсо не был исключением!

Заметки фотографа Я почти никогда не использую штатив. Иногда я жалею об этом, но у меня не хватает терпения каждый раз его раскладывать. Почти всегда я полагаюсь на стабилизатор изображения. Таким образом можно взять больше углов и получить больше вариантов снимков. Мой Canon R6 со стабилизированным объективом позволяет снимать на 0.5 секунды. Обычно, один снимок из 3 получается резким.
