Hmm... it's interesting how they made Luz wear a witch's cloak in Hunting Palisman - the episode where she introduces Flapjack to Hunter. This is also the episode where Hunter defies Belos by choosing Luz over him. He goes back to his palace empty-handed and he doesn't hand over Flapjack to Belos. Unbeknownst to Hunter, he is following Caleb's footsteps.
But then, in Hollow Mind, they made the choice to have Luz not wear her witches cloak - instead they made Luz wear a jacket with a giant "E" on it. They could have given Luz a completely different outfit like they did in Hunting Palisman. But they don't... they make her wear this specific jacket...
...They also make Hunter wear Caleb's symbol in Hollow Mind... an episode where Luz and Hunter are trapped in Philip's mind... where we can see paintings of the two most important characters in Philip's life - his brother and a witch from another world.
But I'm sure this is all unintentional.
You know, like this is:
oh, nbd, just a painting being paralleled with the scene happening right before our eyes
here's a more high def image of the painting
Oh, hmm, okay, this is a painting of Caleb standing next to a witch with short dark brown hair and who just so happens to be a witch from another world. Both of them are startled by Philip...
Hunter, the Grimwalker who looks the most like Caleb, is standing next to someone who ALSO just so happens to be a witch from another world with short dark brown hair... both are startled by Philip's monster form...
Hmm, must be unintentional I guess.
there's also this:
Mhm, okay, I see... I see, very interesting. Here we have Caleb being lead away from Philip by a witch from another world after the brother's have a fall out. This fall out marks the point of no return for them, as Philip later kills Caleb out of anger.
Hunter and Philip's relationship completely deteriorates because of Luz, which leads to Philip's decision to kill Hunter. She shows Hunter Belos' true nature and she offers Hunter sanctuary at The Owl House right after he finds out Belos has been lying to him his whole life... Luz saves Hunter's life and changes it forever.
Hmmm... very interesting
But I'm sure this is unintentional [I'm being sarcastic]

The greenhouse scene in FTWS 1x02
I know I’m probably overinterpreting this scene because my little shipper heart wants them to be in love, but let’s ignore reality for a moment, okay?
I absolutely love how Farah is so focused on Saul after he has been wounded by the Burned One in season 1 that she doesn’t even seem to notice that there are students in the greenhouse as well when she comes rushing in. That’s the only explanation I have for her basically saying in front of the students that it’s all her fault, which she probably shouldn’t.
It’s Saul who has to ask them to leave so he can tell her how much he loves her about the figure he saw in the woods. I don’t care what the intention behind the scene was, but in my head Farah only notices the students once Saul addresses them because up to that point all she can think about is that Saul is hurt badly. She doesn’t even wait for the door to close behind them before pulling him into her lap. Not very headmistressy of her.
The only alternative explanation I will except is that she is aware they are there, but Sky and Terra are basically family anyway, so she doesn’t care.

Rosalind’s and Farah’s final scene in FTWS 1x06
First off, this is not a complaint, but rather an attempt to start a discussion about the final scene between Farah and Rosalind in hopes that maybe someone else has come up with an explanation that makes sense, because personally I’m really struggling with that.
My issue is not how the scene ends (though obviously as a fan of the character I would have preferred if Farah hadn’t died), but that I don’t understand how Farah could let it come to that without showing the slightest bit of resistance. I mean, what did she expect to happen? She knows what Rosalind is capable of, so did she really think Rosalind would simply let her walk away after being told that Farah wouldn’t just leave Alfea quietly?
Okay, maybe she had hoped that Rosalind would not go as far as killing her and would only imprison her like Farah did with Rosalind, but even that seems like something she would want to avoid, especially after being told of Luna’s involvement. After all, if the queen is involved it’s unlikely that there will be much resistance to Rosalind taking over as headmistress again and with Saul out of the way and Ben having to worry about his kids, Farah surely would have known that she was on her own.
Not to mention that Rosalind seems like someone who would hold a grudge and wouldn’t simply forgive and forget that Farah and the others turned on her and kept her imprisoned for 16 years. So it was probably not unexpected that she would try something especially after Farah stood up to her instead of just doing as she was told. Which makes Farah’s behaviour even more baffling.
Now, as I’ve said before, I do believe that Farah’s story didn’t necessarily go as the writers had originally intended due to Eve Best not being available for season 2. I’ve never watched the animated Winx series, but from what I understand Farah is loosely based on Faragonda, who at some point was turned into a tree. I assume that the writers were intending to do something similar with Farah on FTWS as part of slowly writing out the adult characters while keeping the door open to have her pop up occasionally when it serves the students’ story. If I’m right about that, they changed their plans – probably due to the scheduling conflict with Eve’s work on HotD - and only had her appear briefly to bring her story to an end instead. While that’s unfortunate, it’s just how things go sometimes, and I believe everyone tried their hardest to make the best of the situation.
Looking at it with that in mind it does make a little more sense if one assumes Farah had a backup plan in case Rosalind tried to harm her (e.g. calling on nature to preserve her or however she phrased it in season 2), but even in that case, it doesn’t seem like a very good plan. Was she really not able to come up with anything else? After all, they are both powerful fairies, so wasn’t there something else Farah could do to protect herself from being killed in the first place? While I don’t see her as someone who would attack unprovoked, I struggle with her lack of at least attempting to defend herself. She was trained to be a soldier after all. Surely she must have expected Rosalind to come for her at some point and must have had a plan of what to do in that case? After all, Farah is probably the only one (or at least the only one we know of at that point) who may have the power to defeat Rosalind and Rosalind is clearly aware of that (hence why she kills her).
All things considered, Farah’s behaviour just seems really naïve, like she didn’t expect Rosalind to make a move, and I see her as anything but. So no matter how the story was supposed to turn out (i.e. whether Farah was supposed to die or be turned into a fern tree), I’m struggling to make sense of why she mad it so easy for Rosalind to get rid of her, especially since she doesn’t want to let Rosalind take over Alfea, yet she doesn’t even fight back when she’s being attacked.
