Baby quilt is complete!

This is for my sister who is currently pregnant with baby #2, my first nephew! We went over the colors and pattern pretty thoroughly because my sister is Particular and had a vision for the baby's room - think coastal vibes. So the colors are blue-tone greys, and the whites are low volume coordinates (mostly light grey on white, with one white-on-white fabric).

The backing is a bear print I got from fatquartershop; my one nitpick is that the online image made it look like more of a white background than the beige background it has but I still used it. The batting is white cotton, doubled up to be extra puffy and warm. Quilting is simple in-the-ditch lengthwise so it doesn't draw the attention from the pattern. Binding is a light grey that is also used in the top.

Overall, I love this pattern. It looks so neat in any color scheme, I think. The only downside is lining things up when assembling the blocks:

Dimensions: Spirit of the Eagle stitched by mistyknits.

Spirit of the Eagle by Sally Smith (out of print) for dimensions_crafts . Here it is in all it's just finished and wrinkly/stitched-in-hand glory. Plenty of confetti and backstitching to keep me on my toes. I'm choosing to let the movement of the color in my foxandrabbitdesigns fabric (40ct Black Swan) replace the numerous single stitches that represent stars in the sky. Used the called for dmc_crafts floss from fatquartershop. This will be finished and sent off to my favorite Uncle to celebrate his heritage.

Christy's Quilt Back by BGelhausen Via Flickr: Eldest daughter's 2012 Christmas present. 1st of 4 "family" quilts made for Denver Clan all from this set of Moda Bella Solids. Lap sized version of my Mini Patchwork Prism Quilt. Quilt is approximately 56" x 72" 1st of 7 quilts made for my family for Christmas 2012. Fabrics are the Moda Spring 2012 Bella Solids - all 20 colors - purchased from citycraftonline.com/ and from The Fat Quarter Shop www.fatquartershop.com/ Finished height of the Prisms (aka pyramids, equilateral triangles or 60 degree triangles) is 4" . They were cut from 4 1/2" strips. For the quilting, I used Aurifil 50 wt. Mako in medium grey (#2605 2DM) Batting used is a Bamboo Blend also purchased from CityCraft. Relied heavily on EQ7 to plan this quilt!
